These are the most comfortable boots I've ever purchased. There is just enough elastic in the shaft to fit comfortably without squeezing. The ankle area is a bit wide compared to the rest of the boot, so there isn't much support. The foot padding helps when you stand for long periods.

I've never written a review in my life... I LOVE these boots. I have super wide calf, and these fit! The elastic gives them a great feel and they hug my leg and won't go all saggy at the ankle. Can't wait to get them in brown too!

The best boots ever!!! I usually wear an 8 just so I can get my width! I bought a 7 1/2 WW, and I had room in them! I couldn't believe it. Very comfortable and soft! I highly recommend these boots! Shoot I highly recommend any boots by Fitzwell!! I am a customer for life!!!

Only boot that fit my wide calf (19")! I usually wear a 10M but the only size close to mine was a 9.5 WW. This worked great and as I mentioned, is the first time I can wear a tall boot on my big legs!

These are super cute boots! I am very please with the way they look and feel when I am wearing them. I have always had a hard time finding boots to fit over my calves. I am petite, but I have thick calves due to being a swimmer. I have 16" calves and I wear size 6. I ordered these boots in black size 6/M. They fit perfect. I wore these for the first day yesterday, and I received so many compliments. They are definitely worth the purchase.

These boots are fantastic! I have a pair of brown Naturalizer boots from a year ago that have since been unavailable, but as these were so close I figured they could work. The first day of wearing was a bit worse than my usual Zappos purchases; my left heel got pretty chewed up, and recently my inner left ankle was as well (but that was from my socks riding down during a long walk). Granted, my feet tend to get blistered, so some discomfort at the beginning was expected. I have difficult feet to fit, but the toe box fit my extra wide feet perfectly! The heels are pretty loud when walking too, but that could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you expect for boots. Overall, a fantastic pair of boots that I expect to get a lot of wear out of (with the right socks)!

This is my first Fitzwell shoe/boot. My calf is just wee bit too large for a regular boot shaft and with a wide calf boot I am usually swimming in the shaft. The stretchable fabric on this boot is prefect as it conforms to my calf shape and it's not too gappy for my needs. However, the footbed is a bit wider than average so with heavier socks this is solved. There is that smell -- don't know what it is but let your boots air out (outside if possible). If not you will be smelling them all day! The toe of the boot is more square than appears in the picture. With the buckle I felt it gave it more a military boot look. I contemplated sending back, but I didn't want to have to keep looking for the perfect calf fit so I kept them. They are nice, average black boots that are appropriate for work and casual.

I bought these boots a year ago. They are a staple of my boot wardrobe, but I take good care of them. Today, while walking to my car, I noticed that my foot felt really cold and I realized that the boot had come detached from the sole. Horrors. I spent quite a bit a year ago, and now am stuck with garbage boots. This makes me sad since I had finally found boots that fit my wide calves.

Fit in the calf even though they're marked about a 1/2" smaller than actual. Ankle was too baggy and leather quality wasn't up to par.

I have a 16 inch calf, and these fit fine in that regard. However, around the ankle it was too baggy and just didn't look good. I have to agree with some of the other reviews... these boots have an awful odor. I left them out of the box for 3 days, and they made the whole room smell bad.

I was disappointed with the quality of the leather. It looks and feels cheap. Also, the color of the boots is a lot lighter than it looks, I would describe it as "milk chocolate." Unfortunately, they will go back.

Ordered Size 10 Wide, in the Black and the Brown. Calf measurement: a smidge under 18". I'm almost 5'9", and the top edge sits approx 2.5" below my knee. First, I am more than pleased to report that both pairs of boots are, essentially, odorless. Based on reviews to the contrary, I was more than a tad worried; however, I've wanted these boots for so long that I was willing to set them outside for the once-recommended 3 days(!) in order to air them out, if need be. These are great looking boots! I love the height of the shaft, the shades of black and brown are exactly what I wanted (esp. the brown), the material is decent (although a bit pricey for the quality), & the buckled straps add a very attractive visual element. There were no loose stitches, frayed edges, offset seams, or oh-so ugly beads of dried glue anywhere either. The gore panels are snug so I have to make sure the zipper, once zipped, is straight up and down, but they don't detract enough from the overall look to make me regret my purchase. The panels are quite form-fitting on me (I think an 18" calf is close to max regarding what they can be expected to handle), but there's just enough stretch left to tuck leggings & jeans w/o my toes going numb. Since they are so snug, the gore panels accentuate the shape of my calves. I don't mind, but others might. I have a borderline-wide foot, but I only have to order Wide width every now and then. I knew I'd need to wear a heavier sock with these so I went with the Wide width. It was a good call. The one, real "CON" is the hardness of the inside heel. I think both pairs missed the "gel insole" section of the assembly line...any insole section, if I'm going to be blunt about it. It literally feels like that section is missing. The upside? The gel heel inserts I'll be purchasing shouldn't cause any problems with the fit. They just fill whatever that odd void is. I believe I've covered everything except to say that I in no way regret my purchase, and I hope these boots hold out for a long time to come. I really feel great in them!

This boot fits great. I have an athletic calf, not huge, but doesn't fit in many boots. The way this boot is constructed makes it fit nicely around the calf, but with not wide gap at the top or around the ankle. So flattering!

Love these boots! Fit beautifully and looks great on too. I have large calf and they fit. Only disappointment was the arch support. There is very little padding on the foot bed. At this price, you would think Fitzwell would make them more supportive.

I love them! I have very large (19) calves. These fit wonderfully. I wear an 11 Wide. The elastic does not make them look chintzy. They look good and feel great. Love them!

Finally a boot that fits my darn large calves. And it looks pretty darn cute. And quite comfy; I was able to walk around SF with no discomfort. Recommend it highly. I did get it in my normal size (6.5), but in the wide width and it fits like a dream. Will be purchasing a brown pair to complete my collection.
