I love the style of these boots. I fit comfortably into 10s and 10.5s in other Frye styles, but for some reason 9.5s fit better. 9s might even be the best fit. They are fairly tight at the base of the tongue and toe box, but I’ve heard they will stretch a little. I have to wear them with thick socks or the heel rubs too much.

First, Zappos is the best way to shop. As far as the boot, it is very uncomfortable. I am a long time Frye wearer and feel they have started to let they're quality slip for fashion's sake. The back rubbed so badly I had blisters. The raw, unfinished leather in the inside of the boot was terrible. Also the leather almost feels brittle and thin unlike most of Frye's boots. Too much "fashion," not enough quality. Stick with classic Frye.

Very happy with them. They are very well made and rugged. I really like the worn in, distressed look. They are still a little stiff, but hopefully they will break in more over time.

Instantly comfortable, well built shoe. I received this on a Friday and then spent the next week trekking around Cuba with literally no "breaking-in" period. Possibly the best boot I've ever owned. Stylish, and unique. Not sure why I even try other brands on.

Excellent product. I've always been a fan of Frye boots. They're very well made; however, this pair was sized a full size small. I'm a 10.5 and could not get my foot into the boot. Returned those and got an 11.5. I treated the boots with beeswax after the first day to soften and loosen the leather. Next day was the end of the break in period. I've worn the boots daily since then. Classic looks & great support. Couldn't be happier.

I bought these amazing boot two weeks ago from Zappos in the dark brown full grain leather in size 10D. I am over the moon with them. First let me talk about the style. It matches very well with my dark blue jeans or any blue jeans in general and it even works with my classic brown or beige pants. Second, the size and width are very very true to size and I repeat it to let you consider that I always wear size 10 in boots and I am always wearing boots. So some boots in that size are a bit roomy and some are my exact size. I say that these boots are my exact size. The boots are very comfortable from when you get them out of the box. The color is amazing just like the picture. The outsole is amazing and oil resistant, that is a very important thing to me. Third, and last, Zappos is the best! They deliver the boots in about three days! So, thank you, Zappos.

Excellent boots. High quality leather and workmanship. Require some minimal breaking in, but quite comfortable to wear from the start. It runs half a size to a full size larger so order them smaller size.

First, I'm a huge Zappos fan and discovered these boots while browsing the site - they were represented well online, but when they arrived they were perfect. I have 3 pairs and they're urban cool and transition well from jeans to khakis and cords. Think of these with your Diesel jeans and a T and you can't go wrong with the look. Oh, and they're super comfortable after they break-in. Favorite boots ever!

I put them on and they hurt like hell. I tried stretching them with a home stretcher and they still hurt like hell. I ordered a pair of Frye Oxfords at the same time, same size and they felt great. I returned the Oxfords because these look great and I was going to make them fit no matter what. I wore them to a tradeshow. My feet were not happy. Last straw, took them to a professional stretcher and voila! They fit perfectly. $16 each foot. Happy.

My first impression once I saw them in person is that they look a little more like combat boots than work boots. Not a deal breaker, just something I noticed. Also, the toe box seems to be a little more bulbous than pictured. These boots are not even close to true to size. Makes you wonder why Frye doesnâ??t correct this. I normally wear a 9.5 or 10 depending on brand. I settled on the 9â??s and wonder if the 8.5â??s may have fit a little better. Overall the quality seems pretty outstanding. They are sturdy and look great.

How can you not love Fryes? And these are as rugged and awesome as they come. They run super big though. I'm normally a 10-10 1/2 and in the end have a 9 1/2 but super nice boots.

Despite the bad reviews I saw on these boots I bought them anyways. Have been wearing them around about a month now - so far they have been treating me well. Compared them with my friend's pair of James Lace Ups (which has many more reviews than these, most of which are positive). I didn't have much to complain about. Got them in dark brown; after weather-proofing with SnoSeal, they became really dark (as expected)! I personally like them that way. When first wearing, I noticed that the sides of the leather tongue inside the boot would rub against my foot (which was pretty uncomfortable). After the first couple wears it was barely noticeable. Have gotten several compliments on the boots - they look nice...currently my favorite pair (I've only owned a couple pairs of boots). Also note what other reviewers say about the size: I usually wear a 10 1/2, so I bought a size 10. Still have a little room to grow, and they fit comfortably. The main thing I am concerned about are the soles. The James Lace Ups come with a leather sole that is easily replaceable when it is worn down. The Fulton's sole is partly rubber and I am not sure what to do when the time comes. I have heard of using Toe Taps to preserve them, but I will take them in to a shoe repair shop and ask about that. Overall I think these boots were a great buy. Feel pretty solid overall.

They're pretty great, but I noticed a couple things a little off. Like, my wife's Frye's have the nice tan smooth leather lining from toe to the top of the ankle. These don't. So I looked that the same shoe on the Frye website, you can see the nice tan internal lining coming all the way to the top. These don't. I'm not saying they're "fake", but they're not quite the same quality as the ones you'd get from the Frye website, or say, Nordstrom.

After just short of 2 years, I feel it is time that I review these boots. When I first got them I was less than satisfied with the leather finish. The distressing just didn't look right. So, I took some leather conditioner and buffed them up nice. My particular pair had some weird bulges along the sole edge that I sanded down and buffed. After all that I fell in love. I wear them almost every day, during the winter especially. They are pretty comfortable, though you may feel a little discomfort after a long day. Mine recently wore the sole down to a point where it wore the stitching that holds it to the boot off, and was separating from the boot. A quick call to Frye and they gave a code to send in and have it repaired, under warranty. Overall I'm really happy with them. I still get comments on them at 2 years old and I'm sure I will 5 years from now.

Love the Fulton Lace Up. It took a while to break in, especially around the tongue area where it folds. Hurt like hell the first few wearings. Never had a shoe that hard to break in. Found that with another pair of Frye's, too. Then I put some Lexol leather conditioner on them and flexed them out a bit and that did the trick. Occasionally, the shoe will make a popping noise on the right one. It appears to be the rigid part in the sole. I have to take the shoe off and flex it to get it to stop. Kinda lame for an expensive shoe. Although they're broken in and are the right fit, I still get occasional hotspots on my heels. I know I have the right size because I have another pair of Frye's in an 11. Have tried to use the Lexol but that didn't work. They are otherwise great shoes.

Awesome looking boot, just got 'em! Pretty comfy right from the git go, but I'd have to say my ski boots are easier to put on. LOL. They might benefit from a rear pull on strap.

Loved this boot for the first 6 months of daily wear. I work in an office environment, but also get outdoors a lot and I use this boot for lite hiking and photographing outdoors. After 6 months of use I noticed that the rubber on one of the heel's had come off. Sent it in to Frye to be repaired which took 3 weeks. It came back with new rubber on both heels, this time more substantial than what had originally came on the boot (a nice addition). Then at about 9 months of daily wear the leather on the toe split causing the stitching to be revealed! Rather than sending it for repair and waiting another 3 weeks for it to come back I'm taking advantage of Zappos excellent return policy and switching over to Chippewa Katahdin Iron Worker boots. Horrible quality boot! I expected much higher construction quality in a brand like Frye. Will never buy this brand again.

While the looks are rockstar and the materials are top notch, I was fairly disappointed in several things about these boots. First is the fit. All Frye boots take some breaking in but if you have any arch in your foot, the bridge of these boots will be so uncomfortable that you would not make it through the break-in process. Second, the interior finish, especially at the back of the boot was not good - the stitching behind the heel and back of your foot digs in because it is so rough. Third is comfort. I have had many Frye boots and, while I'm not going to run a marathon in them, they are generally pretty comfy. These, however, are like walking on 2x4s. At this price point I expect a lot more and, given their history of quality boots, I am sorry to see this poor of a boot from Frye.
