I ordered Patagonia, Northface and this Mtn. Hardwear all at the same time and after trying on all of them a million times, I kept the Mtn. Hasrdwear. I have it in black. The picture makes it look bulky, but it's not--it is actually flattering for a no-nonsense warm coat. I love the faux fur hood--adds a touch of class & femininity.

This coat did not fit me at all. The sleeves are long and the chest area very snug. No room to wear anything under the coat.

I just received this parka and I have to say...it's a great investment for those of us in cold climates! I live in Chicago and walk everywhere so finding a warm, yet light parka was key. I found it with this coat!

I love the fit of this coat! I haven't tested the warmth yet but I'm sure it will be fine compared to others. I've tried North Face and Patagonia coats and both do not fit as nicely as this one does. I'm a petite woman and the other coats are just too bulky and unflattering. If you're petite and somewhat slender you will appreciate this one!

Granted, it has been cold this winter, and I finally caved in and decided it is time to buy a full length down coat. This Mountain Hardware coat is so comfy and soft and not at all stiff. Good for walking the dog, getting into the car on a freezing cold morning before it warms up etc. The coat is not the most flattering for an XL girl, but who cares? Warm, toasty, nicely detailed, a good all around fit and an okay color. I am happy to have it in my arsenal of winter wear!

I have done extensive research on down coats before I bought this one. I have not bought a new coat in years. The main requirement I was looking for was warmth. The second was style. This coat has both. It also has a touch of luxury with a fleece lining that has a wonderful feel. I wish all companies offered the fast service and shipping that Zappos does. If you are considering this coat, act fast. They won't be around for long!

I really like this coat. Ordered it yesterday and received today. Nice Zappos! It's warm, it's comfortable and stylish. I'd say it fits true to size. It is slimming compared with other puffy coats. I look forward to wearing it tonight!

I've tried on dozens of down 3/4 length coats, designer and not, and this had the most flattering fit and tailoring. I'd have to agree with everything the 1st reviewer has said. The only complaint I have is that the inner stretchy cuff fits right around the wrist and makes the sleeve look a little short for the arms. If the cuffs weren't made as they were, the end of the sleeves would fall comfortably to just above the thumbs. But instead, it makes the sleeves look like they stop right as the wrist. So I did the unthinkable, I cut them off. Because they're on the inside, you can't tell.

I spent weeks flip-flopping over which down coat to buy for the winter. As soon as it arrived, I knew I made the right choice! The downtown parka is the perfect combination of lofty down and sleek fit. It's soft, super warm, and fits perfectly. I'm 5' 3" and the coat fits a few inches above my knees. I bought an XS, and it still fits over my thick sweaters with just a bit of room to spare. Anyone looking for real warmth in a coat without compromising style should consider this one.

Nice color. I like the hood and the pockets. But it made me look very puffy! So I decided to return it.

Just took a long, cold "test" walk in this coat. It's toasty warm. I especially like the hood coverage since my last parka ("Metropolis" coat by The North Face) did not cut it in that regard. The length is great too -- no need for long johns to keep my thighs warm, at least not today when the temperature is about 20 degrees. But the fit is too tight. I am 5'4" and 110 lbs with average proportions (ie, neither pear shaped or broad shouldered), so I ordered a small. That size is just a bit too snug in the shoulder and mid-sections for me. Plus the collar is way too small in diameter when zipped up, particularly with the hood attached -- it was uncomfortable on my neck and chin. The arm length also leaves something to be desired. It is a nice looking coat and way less matronly than most of what I've seen in similar lengths that offer the same warmth, but I think the tight collar will drive me crazy so I am returning it. Might try ordering a medium instead.

I was saddened when my dry cleaner "lost" my fabulous Prada parker. I thought I'd never find anything even close to my beloved jacket. And then I found this one. It's toasty, stylish, comfortable, and surprisingly slimming for a puffy coat. I'm tempted to get another in case this one gets "lost" too! Great coat.

I love this coat. I am finally warm! As a tall, slender person, I had trouble finding a down coat that was long enough for my arms, yet not too big in width. This one fits the bill, and the inner drawstring is handy for cinching up the waist to make the coat fit snugly. I also love the fuzzy lining inside, super cozy. Only thing the coat did not deliver is the thumb-holes that the description claimed. I can't find any thumb-holes, but the sleeves are long enough for me to tuck my fingers up inside the sleeves on days I forget my gloves!

I felt the sleeves were short too so I went to the fabric store and bought some cuffs and sewed them onto the end of the sleeves and now they fit great!

Overall a great purchase. The length and styling is modern and more feminine than jackets of the past. The internal fleece lining around the upper body and chin wind breaker is particularly great! The coat is warm, even here in wintry New England. However, the one negative is that the down feathers poke through the outer lining so I'm always picking white fluff off of me. I hope this doesn't mean the life of the jacket will be shortened. But, the lifetime warranty by Mountain Hardwear makes me more comfortable in the event that this becomes a bigger problem.

I have been searching for a warm, quality down coat for some time and finally decided on this one. Could not be more pleased! I am 5'6 and weigh 130 pounds and I went with size medium. It fits great! I have received so many compliments. And the best part? This coat it so warm! Perfect for walking my dog on windy, snowy days.

Bought this coat in search for the ideal active wear, hiking gear. At 5'9", 112 lbs the extra small was a good fit except for the length. Too short, thus too cold, so going back.

I thought this jacket would be just the one, after trying several other jackets. The length is good, and it is not too puffy. However, the fabric finish is terrible. It looks like it would rip very easily if caught on something, and as if it would get soaked at the slightest snow flurry. It is not water resistant or water repellant. Other than that, it is a very nice looking jacket. I am regretfully returning it for something with better fabric.
