Love this sweater. Great by itself on a warmer day or under a shell when it's bitter cold. Lightweight. Blue color is great. Get lots of compliments. Flattering fit too. True to size.

The full Zip Hoodie is the way to go! The jacket is very warm and packs very easily. The only issue is that strong winds do get through. So, you have to layer very well if you are wearing it under 32 degrees.

Brands I'd also recommend: The North Face

Patagonia hooded down sweater is the best! I live where the temperature changes are quite extreme, going from -26 below in the mornings to 35 degrees in the afternoon. The hooded down jacket works the best for the temperature changes. And I love the color!

This jacket is amazing. I find the fit to be very flattering, very warm when you need it to be and lightweight when you need it to be. I bought this coat because the other Patagonia Down Jacket I had was too warm. Patagonia makes such quality stuff and is a very socially and environmentally friendly company, it's worth the extra bucks.

LOVE this jacket. Light weight and super warm so I can go from 70 degree winters in Orange County to 30 degree Sun Valley without packing a double suitcase. With baggage fees these days, that’s a huge deal.

I purchased this jacket for a trip to Disneyworld in FL. the first week of January 2010. I thought it would pack small and not take up too much room in my suitcase, so I would have it handy when I returned home to the cold mountain air. Well, the first week of January in Florida was a cold wet week in the 30s and 40s. I was glad to have a down jacket! But, be warned, this jacket did not keep me warm in the humid cold air of Florida. I was miserable! But... when I returned to Colorado, it kept me very comfortable in temps in the teens. I have been wearing it all month and loving it. So I guess I would recommend it for dry climates, but not for humid ones. It is VERY comfortable and light. True to size. I LOVE the hood. You can zip it up just around your neck and it is cozy and warm. No need for a neck gator or scarf. And the tightening cord at the back of the head lets you pull the edges of the hood back and away from your face so your vision isn’t obstructed. Very clever. Great jacket for the Rocky Mountain variety of climates.

I have the classic Ppatagonia down sweater and was so excited they made a hoody, I bought the bitter chocolate color. I absolutely love it! It is super warm for how lightweight it is, I do not leave home without it stuffed into my purse or backpack. Stuffs down small.

Love it! Body length isn't as long as I'd like but other than that it's perfect. I wear it every day. Great for Montana winters.

I can see why people love this jacket. It looks and feels very nice on. However, for myself, at 5'11", it was cut too short at the hip, although the arm length was good. Another downside if you are cold-natured is that although the jacket is very warm at mild temperatures, if it drops below 40 degrees or so, you will need to add a top-coat layer. For the price, I can't see having to add a coat on top when it's only in the 30s. But for hikers and playing outdoor sports in winter, the light-weight and packability of this might be worth the cost. I don't do enough of that myself to warrant paying for those features without enough warmth for a chilly commute in January.

Brands I'd also recommend: LL Bean, Lands End for similar items but less expensive

I know these are all the rage but I was unhappy with the fit. The sleeves were too long and the fit was not attractive. Cozy but I am returning it.

This jacket is fabulous. Fit is great. I'm 5'5'' and 115 and the XS is perfect. Keeps me warm and it's light. Win win. I guess the only thing I'd improve is the pockets. They're a little shallow and sometimes my phone pops out. Luckily they have zippers so I've tried to train myself to always zip them up. Not a huge minus, though.

Pricey...but something to wear often. Super comfy and easy to wash. Not good for sub zero, but great for around town, in the car and walks when it's not below freezing and/or very windy. A vest over the top helps in those extremes. The hood is so nice. Bought the down sweater without the hood last year -- wanted one with a hood, too.

Have tried on and compared at close range many brands of Down Sweater in several seasons. Patagonia Down Sweaters are the best. Best fit. Best construction by a long shot (baffle pattern, stitching, sleeve banding, zipper, no down coming out at the seams). If you examine a Patagonia Down Sweater with any competitor's sweater in good daylight at close range, the other one will look startlingly cheap and coarse looking (and I do mean very well-known and respected brands that make some excellent products). Will probably get a non-hooded version in another color next season. Warm, attractive and literally light as a feather.

This jacket is the best. I was worried that it was thinner than most "puffy" coats but it turns out it is just as warm. And because it is thinner I can wear it over an extra fleece if I want to. If you are the type of person that like jackets to cover your bottom, then I would go a size up. Also, Patagonia has great customer service. I snagged the sleeve on something sharp and it ripped a small hole but they patched it right up for free with free shipping. I would definitely suggest this coat!

I love my cozy new puffy coat. Although I am originally from MN, I am a total cold weather wimp and live in Texas now. On a recent trip to the mountains, this coat kept me nice and warm the entire time (without making me sweat to death). It regulates your body temperature very well. Highly recommend - plus very stylish!

I originally ordered this in a Large because that's what my other Patagonia jacket is, but this one is a bit snug. I would like to be able to wear sweaters under it, so I am returning it for an XL. It's a great jacket though!

This is my favorite jacket! I get so many compliments on the color and how soft it feels! And it's so warm! I would recommend Patagonia to anyone! And it's not too short, it's just the right fit and feels true to size. I am 5'8" and 160lbs and a medium fits perfectly!

Perfect jacket. I wear it every day and it works in all kinds of weather. I can't stand bulky clothing and this is warm with almost zero bulk. The hood is an added bonus. It's lightweight and amazing. Worth your investment.

This jacket is perfect! I was looking for a more "form-fitting" jacket, but most of them were not cut right or too puffy. This one is very flattering and I can still wear a sweater underneath without looking like the Michelin Man. It's the perfect weight--keeps me warm in sub 30-degree weather, but doesn't make me sweat the moment I walk into a warm building. Also very packable. If you are hesitant because of the price (as I was), it is an excellent investment and will save you from wanting a new one every year. I wanted a funky color but ended up getting the grey--it's beautiful and wears well with everything.

While it is a bit pricey, I love this jacket! Lightweight -- perfect for "in between" weather (e.g., spring and fall) and very cute fit. Also love the design of the hood -- it actually stays on in windy weather. Highly recommend this item!
