Besides being very cute and warm, these boots are a blessing for plus-size ladies with hard to fit wide calves and ankles. I had gained some serious weight and even my old beloved stretched out Uggs Ultimate Short were getting difficult. My legs and ankle area are also effected by swelling so it is almost impossible to find a cute boot that I can get on. Even these, were difficult to get on out of the box, but within 10 minutes not only did they feel comfortable, but the inside footbed also seemed to warm-up and mold to my foot and felt very comfortable. The thermal insulation seems nice and warm. After this the boot became very easy to slip into and even easier to remove. I'm ready for the snow and cold. Thanks Zappos!

I was thrilled to find this boot that paired style and warmth for Wisconsin winters, but these aren't for me as it turns out. I normally can't get my muscular calves into any normal boot that doesn't allow me to lace up, but these were huge, mostly because the tongue has a weird gap and the bungee laces don't allow adjustment to get a snug fit. Not good in snowy conditions when where it will fly right down the shaft of your boots. Also these ran small. I'm typically a spot on 11 and that's what I ordered and my toes were right to the tip leaving no room for thick socks. Great boot if you've got the leg to fill it out, not so much otherwise.

Right off the bat, a great shoe. Received them the day before a big Chicago snowstorm, put them on and off I went. No breaking in required. They felt great all day. Warm, comfortable and cute.

When it's cold outside, I'm cozy in these boots. They're warm in the cold, dry in the wet, and comfortable right out of the box. It's almost like the designer knew how much we hate breaking in new boots. What girl can resist a boot that makes her feet look a little smaller? This design is not bulky, so you get all the protection without looking like you're wearing your father's boots.

Zappos is so fast on delivery, I can't believe it! I tried several different pairs of Ugg boots along with this one. Friends told me I would be sold on Ugg. Surprisingly, I found this one by Baffin to be the most comfortable, soft, adjustable boot of the whole bunch. I can't wait for the cold/snow to come so I can wear these all the time! I highly recommend this boot for winter.

Great boots! Very easy to get on and off, and I can even tuck pants into them, which is no small feat when you have muscular calves. I usually go between and 9.5 and a 10, so I opted for the 10 in these, and although they are a little roomy I\'ll just wear them with nice thick socks. These are big boots, so if you care about your feet looking svelte, these aren\'t for you. If you want something to trudge around in snow and keep warm, they\'re great. :)

I used these to traipse around Spain and Turkey in the winter. With SmartWool socks my feet stayed relatively cozy and warm and dry (while they weren't super warm, they never felt cold). Unfortunately the arch support was lacking, but fortunately the insole in removable and I was able to put in an orthotic. Pants tuck in neatly and boot cut jeans can pull over them but not loosely. I love the style because they're a little different. They do not have great ankle support for true hiking but are good for urban winter wear. The traction was adequate for rain and snow.

The boot is quite comfortable to walk in, and seems like it would be extremely warm. However, it is designed for very wide calves. I knew this and thought I would like it anyway, having the option to have a more casual look with the boot not closed snugly around my leg. However, the boot is very stiff and does not adjust well. As other reviewers mentioned, the ties don't really hold it in place if you can get it tightened to your liking. Also, because of its design for the larger calf and the overall thickness of the boot, they make your feet look giant. Unfortunately they look sort of ridiculous on me, like I'm wearing a giant's boots! Ha! And it's not like I'm a midget; I'm 5'4 and wear a size 7 shoe! For this reason I'll have to return them. Boo.

I would absolutely recommend these boots! I live in California and am used to being warm. I bought these for a vacation to northern Sweden inside the Arctic Circle in late December, and as long as I wore wool socks, my feet were never cold. The temperatures ranged from -15c to -32c and I spent hours outside walking in the cold and the snow. They are completely waterproof too! They are a little bulky, and do have wide calves, but I kept my pants tucked in.

I ordered these boots because my serious cold weather pair died last year. I've had to send the Kamalas back for a couple of reasons. But first, my overall observations: They are very cute; especially with pants, which I didn't find hard to tuck in on account of the clever cross-lace closure. Cute is not elegant. So if you're looking for elegant, don't order these. Elegant rated to -20 does not exist in the world anyway, so I'd recommend deciding on your real needs before choosing your style. These are the perfect boots for those who have to be out and about in populated areas, who perhaps spend a little more time driving than walking. Perfect for civilized walking in extreme weather. Across large parking lots. To the grocery store or library & back, and probably in general. They are quite walkable. I wouldn't call them 'fragile', but I wouldn't call them 'rugged', either. There is no metal on them anywhere, and the soles are nice and thick (imperative for really cold weather), but still quite flexible. Why I returned them: Upon reflection, I need something more serious for being out over longer periods in a grimy cold urban environment; or in the middle of nowhere. If the car breaks down in February in northern Wisconsin, the Kamalas might be okay, but also might not. I also slog through a lot of slush and slop on my walk to & from my job (icy water when it's -20? Yeah it happens), so I figured out that I need a rubber-like upper. The Kamalas are described as 'waterproof', which I believe; but they are rather pretty suede, and my life calls for something more like 'immersible'. It was a tough decision, though. I kept the Kamalas and 'circled' them for a couple of weeks, thinking about it. They really are cute.

One of my simple pleasures is keeping my feet toasty in cold weather, and these are definitly the right boots for the job. They're really cute and comfortable. I wear a 7.5 and got these in a size 8 and they are a little big, but it's nothing that thick socks or a shoe insert can't rectify. So, yes it fits true to size. Overall, I'm quite pleased. Thanks Zappos.

Loves these boots!!! In my search for a very warm boot for -30 daytime temps - I came across the Baffin boot. I was looking for both style, warmth, and comfort. These boots are absolutely amazing in warmth and comfort and style. The size is perfect for an extra pair of warm socks. Love these boots. Would order them again if I need another pair.

Fabulous boot, super warm and cute!!! Much warmer than my North Face snow boots. Most of the boots you see are either fashionable or a snow boots, this one is both. The only problem with this boot is it\'s slippery, I actually fell in it yesterday, which is odd because it has great tread on the bottom.

These are super cute, but seem to run wide. I normally wear an 8 W, so ordered a 9M. The length seems okay, but even I have too much room for my duck feet. Unfortunately, there aren't any 8M available, so I'll stick with the 9's. They are also big in the calf area. The first time I tried them on, I actually broke one of the toggles that keeps the leather strap wrapped (thus the 3 stars). I'll have to bust out the needle and thread to fix it. Other than being a bit big, they are very comfy and warm.

Looked very cute online, but only somewhat cute in person. I ended up not liking the way the boot ties. I could never get it really snug around my ankle and leg, which - let's face it - for a winter boot is pretty important. Just a little too much fashion and not enough function, so they are being returned.

I've never purchased snow boots before, but I needed a pair to go to Park City, UT, and these really did the job. For starters I am a size 7 1/2 and I bought a size up and didn't have much of a problem. These boots are not only comfortable but also very cute and stylish either over or under pants. Cons, well I used these for 7 days straight and by day 5 trying to tighten the boots I pulled too hard and the fabric that keeps the cord in place on the front snapped. I started to notice the rest of the boot and am fearful that the others even though they are made out of plastic, might snap off. This is all due to the fact that it is very difficult to get these boots to tighten since it’s not a lace but this weird cord system on the sides. Regardless I would recommend these boots to anyone looking for something stylish to walk in the streets and sturdy for the heavy snow walking.

While the shoe fit my size 9, wide feet fine and were reasonably comfortable for arch support and warmth, the material on the boot itself did not hold up well. After only 4 wears, the material next to the stitched lacing in the back tore open from the stress of tying them, which considering the way they are set up you can't make the laces very tight anyway. The material looked thin when I examined it, so I would not purchase this particular pair again because I do not believe they were made to endure any stress of the laces.

These boots seemed comfortable enough and true to size but I had trouble adjusting them. It was difficult to move the little plastic grip along the leather cord. Also, they were too bulky under my pant leg and too awkward to tuck the pant hems into the boot. The string in the front was also distracting to me as it would fling itself around and tap at the boot while I walked.

I am a school crossing guard and need warm waterproof boots for New York winters. Though these boots fit nice I was very disappointed to find my feet wet and cold. Now I have to by another pair of boots I do not have money for. Do not buy these boots though they list them as waterproof they are not!

These are not lined with natural shearling. In fact, the fake shearling is only trim. I was bummed, but I had to keep them because the weather was terrible. They are easy to tighten unlike other reviews stated. Just start at the bottom and pull on each side of lace without putting excess tension on the plastic pieces that hold the laces and keep going up to the top and then tighten. Fit under boot cut jeans fine. And slip on easily for letting my dog out. I had lots of excess lace so I just cut it off. Size seemed right. I ordered 1/2 size larger so thick wool socks would fit comfortably.

Love these boots! Really cute, the perfect blend of style and performance. I needed a boot that could be a slip on for ease, warm for the long winters, but cute since all I wear are boots all winter long. The construction appears to be top notch and although I haven't submerged them into slush yet, I think they could handle it. A great combo of petite styling and chunky sturdy tread and upper. I haven't joined the skinny jean revolution, so I pull my pant legs down over them on my boot cut and trouser jeans and they look just fine. The pull strap, I have been ginger with based on prior reviews. It is not meant to be pulled tight and loosened each time the boot is worn, it is more for getting the right fit and then leaving be, this is a slip on boot. The height is nice too, I would feel comfortable in these in deep snow, but only with snow pants with a gator pulled down over the top of the boot, otherwise the open top would allow snow inside. But that would happen with really any boot if the snow is deep enough.

I bought these to replace my UGGS that finally cracked after 5 years. I wanted something warm yet comfortable. I bought a pair of sheepskin replacement insoles and put them in these boots. Now I can wear them without socks just like my UGGS. These are better for your spine and posture then UGGS. They are much sturdier yet I can still throw them on and feel comfy and relaxed even at work.

These boots are larger and clunkier than I expected. The sole is not flexible at all, making it more difficult to walk up and down stairs. Normally, I wear a 9, but sometimes get a 9.5 and add a supportive insole, which works well for running shoes and boots. I read that these boots ran small. So I tried on two pairs of a different style of Baffin boots in sizes 9 and 10. The size 9 boot was listed as a Euro 39 in the boot label, and the 10 was listed as a Euro 40. The 9 was indeed too small and the 10 fit reasonably well. I usually wear a 40 in Euro sizes, so I felt comfortable ordering the 10. After receiving them and trying them on, I realized these were too big for my feet, even with the additional insole. Moreover, because of the size, stiffness of the sole, and general clunky design of the boot, I won't be able to wear these in most settings I had hoped to. I think they'll be ok for ski trips or snow days, but that's about it. I liked the design of the upper part of the boot, as it was somewhat stylish. However, it really seems to be at odds with the design of the lower part of the boot. The lower part is really more industrial. It's not clear that the upper part of the boot will keep out snow and it doesn't really provide any kind of significant support -- it's difficult to tighten the laces and there is a fair amount of excess room around the ankles and lower shins. These boots kind of remind me of an old pair of rear entry ski boots I had a number of years ago. The design is actually very similar. As far as ski boots went, they were comfortable, but ineffective on the snow. For me, these Baffin boots are in "no man's land" - they aren't really heavy duty as the cuff doesn't allow for a secure fit, and they aren't really a stylish boot, as they are clunky and awkward when walking.
