Eight days ago we were pheasant hunting in Pierre, S.D. and a friend was wearing this boot. I commented on the great look and he said, "These are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn in the field, they're completely waterproof and I wore them all last winter. They're the best boots I've ever had." I came home, hit the Zappos button and, sure enough, they had 'em. Thirty six hours later they were on my feet. You got to love the service from Zappos. Well, he was right. These boots are 100% correct for size, in both length and width. They have great support and feel like a well worn glove right out of the box. It's only the 5th of October and we had rain and snow today, which is not my thing, but today, I was so happy as I put on my new kicks. All day comfort and they are everything my buddy said they are. Do yourself a favor and order a pair of these right now.

I bought the Chippewa in Feb. 2010 and a year later the lining fell apart. Disappointed with this boot.

Very nice boot right out of the box. First day I wore them, I wore them the entire day without any issues. That's hard to do with ANY boot. They are just a tad clunky, but when you're talking about a waterproof wellington, these are probably the best I've had.

Excellent boot. Exactly what I was looking for. The strap allows me to tighten the fit just enough so that it doesn't feel sloppy like most other slip on boots. Only disappointment is that it is made in China, but otherwise I am very happy with the boot.

Nice zipper, good leather dye, buckle is a little frugal very obviously non functional, leather scuffs easily; however, for city wear I wish I knew to install a tap on heels, this sole wears very quickly. Too late! Seems that Justin Boots and Chippewa (though website) days "Handcrafted in America" are hiring in China now, these are from China. I expect them to fix the scuffing and fast wear sole as new overseas factories respond fast for future buyers. The boots are very warm with minimum of lining. The zipper is great. They are comfy and offer support. I guess there is lots of circumference above the ankle for these are nature boots where typical user tucks in their trousers? Clean, unique styling ("Designed in America - Made in China") but the pricing could have been a lot less.

After reading the reviews I purchased a pair of 10" Briar Bison boots size 11.5W. While the boots run long, the width and toe pocket is not what I would deem a W. They will work for me only with thin socks, but I will be in warm climates. Also, I found they are made in China, not USA. Conversation with Chippewa said that their USA made boots are identified in width sizing by D, E, EE, etc. Boots made overseas by M or W. Nothing I could find on the website mentioned this. I have an old pair of their Snake Boots that fit very well, also a reason I bought these. I hope the Briar Bison wear as well as the Snake Boots.

I had really high hopes for these boots. When I got them I was surprised at how big and bulky they were. I wear a size 12 and when I tried these on, they felt like 13s. I prefer my boots somewhat close fitting and my feet swam around in these. Even with the buckle, they were way too big and bulky.
