These boots will not fit your calves if you have any muscle whatsoever! My calves are 14.5 inches at largest diameter and I could not zip them up, so make sure you measure before you order. They are nice looking but they have to go back. And I usually wear a size 7 and I ordered a 6.5W as others suggested which fit fine on my foot. I am having the hardest time finding a quality boot that zips and fits my muscular calves. I guess they think we all walk around with chicken legs?

So disappointed! I loved the look of this boot and was so excited to try it on. The fact that it was waterproof sounded great. However, it's incredibly uncomfortable. First, I would recommend purchasing a 1/2 size up if you like to wear socks at all. Secondly, I found the strap around the heel to rub on the inside as I walked. The boot is pretty tight around the calf and I don't have very large calves. I am sadly going to be returning these. They are really nice until you actually go to wear them.

I just received these today. I'm undecided still. The boots are marked Wide, but clearly that means just the foot portion and not the calf portion. I could barely zip them up. My calves are not unusually wide. I think they will stretch though. I seem to remember Timberland boots being fairly easy to stretch.

Very nice boot. I like the look and feel of the leather and that the boot is waterproof. The look is quite casual. The fit was good for my narrow feet. I would keep if they were not too wide for my skinny calves.

Love these boots. Great everyday comfy boots. I normally can't wear boots all day as they hurt my feet. Timberland make the most comfortable boots ever. The chocolate color goes with everything. The fit was true to size and perfect. Highly recommend.

Agree with other reviewers that these run narrow and long - but I'm happy - for my feet this is ideal! I have a narrow foot but hate to order narrow sizes because the toe box never has enough wiggle room for me. Especially since my left foot is almost a half size different from my right. I ordered the medium 9 width based on the reviews and the size is perfect for me. Heel is snug enough (although the fact that these are tall boots rather than shoes probably also helps prevent the heel from slipping). The toe box is nice and roomy - no pinching whatsoever. I wear them with regular thickness crew socks. Boots are slightly heavy but not overly so. Sole is thick and substantial and has plenty of traction. I guess I have skinny calves compared to the other reviewers because I find them to be almost too wide on top - I wish they were a little slimmer. They're stylish - a bit on the casual side, but they still look good with skirts. Easy to throw on with the side zippers. An incredible deal at the sale price for a fun and very comfortable real leather boot!

These boots are just what I wanted! They are a comfortable fit, and the first day I wore them, I wore them all day with no hurting toes or feet! I was leary about ordering a full size larger than my size but am glad I did. Perfect fit with regular socks!

These showed up yesterday and I was delighted! They fit perfectly, are waterproof (or at least very water-resistant -- I didn't step into any puddles over ankle-deep), and are so comfortable that they're my new go-to boots. I was worried about the calf fitting correctly, and it was fine. I was even able to stuff my "boyfriend-style" jeans inside.

Just what I wanted in a very practical waterproof boot for weta nd snowy days. These run a wee bit narrow and a wee bit long. I would order in wide AND down a half size from your usual shoe size. I've no idea if that's typical for Timberland boots or if it was just this model? I usually wear an 8.5M and like my winter boots roomy for thick socks. I even own pairs in 9W and Euro size 40, but in this boot I need an 8W for a good fit with socks. Neat enough at ankle without obvious sagging and folding. Top buckle can adjust for small calves. Nice cushioned insole with moderate arch support.

I am very happy with the style and quality of these boots. They do fit a little snug in the calf, and I do not have big calves, but with skinny jeans they are still comfortable. They are very nice boots for a fair price.

This is one of the best winter boots I've ever owned! The fit is true to size, comfortable, very waterproof, rugged non-slip soles, great quality leather and super warm for extra cold days or nights. Great to wear almost anywhere. They may not be a "fancy" boot but they are really stylish with skinny jeans or leggings. I own these boots in black and brown. I've received many compliments.

Love this boot! Finally, a tall boot that is leather and waterproof and fits my thin legs. Usually, a my calves swim in tall boots. This one is perfectly narrow for me.

I ordered the 9.5 orignially and it seemed pretty long. I was okay with this at first as I go back and forth between 9.5 and 10 in all shoes/boots. The toe is pointed as opposed to a real rounded toe like rockport anna boot, so it allow people who are between sizes like me to stick with the 9.5. I ultimately returned and went with the 9.0 WIDE like another reviewer did and really happy with this decision. Boots fit perfectly and with my foot sitting right in the boot I have good arch support. Nice boot with smooth leather. These boots do run big.

Just got my boots today and wow are they narrow. I loved the color and the rustic look but must return them and order the wide. I have very narrow feet but these boots are even too tight for me. They are beautiful and well made so I am hoping that getting the wide will do the trick.

Thought it would be great to have a high pair of boots that are water proof to compliment my Harley Davidson mid calf Felicity boots. The leather is beefy, and the treatment makes them matte black. They're not finished on the inside like the Harley boot is, and the metal zipper stuck a bit on the first try. They're snug around the calves, and jeans wouldn't fit, if you like to wear them that way. I want durable and built for abuse as well as style and comfort. They're lacking some grace around the front that goes over the top of my foot. I just didn't fall in love, and that means they go back. I didn't fall in love with my Harley Davidson Felicity either, but I needed the pair for a long bike run in the cold of winter. The second durable pair of boots I buy for riding, with good soles for traction, weather resistant for all weather, comfortable and accommodating of thick socks for insulation against the cold, or just for a snug fit in warmer weather, I'm going to have to love them! I'm going to have to fall in love with them. They're going to say my name when I wear them.

My boyfriend bought these for me in black 3 years ago and I still love them. They are comfortable to walk around in all day, they keep my legs warm and are versatile for casual outfits. I wear them over my skinny jeans and under my boot cut jeans. I wore them out in a rare foot of snow in Texas the first year I had them and the only water that got in was through the cloth around the zipper. I am considering ordering them in brown!

I like Timberland for their environment policies and mostly USA made footwear is hard to find. Unfortunately, I find their wide boots are just not wide enough for me. I am a 9W, but have never found a Timberland 9W that fits. These boots have a kind of clunky, kickin' around town look, but really aren't for business attire. I personally like the look, but just can't wear them comfortably.

Sturdy shank, very comfortable footbed (arch support like that in my tennis shoes), and warm without being stuffy. I was very pleasantly surprised with these. I had one person comment that they were like "moto" boots and another that they were like riding boots. They are a nice intersect of the two styles. Note that the toebox is rather long and that might be a look you're not going for, but I liked it; I have medium/narrow feet. Leather (black) is, like most rain-resistant leathers, a little duller than ideal, but the color is at least consistent (so, good quality dye job).

Fabulous boots, but they are huge! Even though I'm a standard, consistent size 8, I needed a 7.5 which still make my feet look big. Great price and quality, so I think I'll keep them.

Everyone was right. Get the half size larger and a Wide if your foot isn't narrow. This is a nice sturdy boot, but not what I expected. It's very 'biker chic' and not something I could wear to work except on Fridays. They are super well made for cold, wet places with great traction. So if you need a snow boot, I suggest them. They are very well made!

The style is exactly what I've been looking for, but I couldn't get the right fit. It definitely runs long and narrow. I ordered a half size down and still looked like I was wearing clown shoes. There was enough empty space in the toe that i could have gone down another half size, but it was so tight and narrow I needed a shoe horn to get my foot in. I considered ordering another half size smaller, but the instep was already too tight across the top of my foot to be comfortable for my high arches. Otherwise, they are beautiful boots. I'm 5'2" with an athletic build and found the shaft height and circumference to be just right. The size 7 hit a couple of inches below my knee and left just enough room for skinny jeans, but the ankle area was too slim to be able to tuck in straight leg or wider jeans.

This boot is a good quality leather boot but it runs too much and long. I have skinny feet. I'm normally wearing 7.5m for high heel and 8m for flat of ninewest. But for this one I can wear 7w with thick soak and still have room for toe box. The look is more like working boot but classy. When I first tried it was difficult to put on but it getting better with the 3 times to put on.

Love these boots! Seem to fit foot true to size and they fit tight to the calf (I may have larger than normal calves?) - anyway, that's the fit I wanted. May not be able to tuck in jeans, but for a skirt and leggings they are great! Very happy.

Ordered these boots Friday night and they were at my door Monday morning. I love how fast Zappos gets their items to you. All my boots are 8 1/2 (normal width), but after reading the reviews here, I went ahead and ordered an 8 wide. The boot is still a bit too big/long in the toe and makes my heel slip up when I walk. Was going to order the 7 1/2 wide, but they're sold out. I'm really surprised the size 8 was too big. All of my shoes/boots/sandals are either 8 1/2 - 9. Also, just to mention the fit in the calf, as a lot of reviewers had trouble with the fit, the 8 wide was fine for me (my calf is 13 in.), and I had no problem tucking my jeans into them. Boot looked great, felt comfy, just too big/long in the toe. Bummer for me. :(

Wow! I ordered these yesterday and got them today. I was worried about the fit in the calf bc my calf is just under 15". The boots do zip up over thin pants but they are tight. Getting them on was tough too but once on there is plenty of room in the foot. I normally wear a 7 but ordered a 7 1/2 in hopes there would be more room in the calf. I love the look of this boot and the brown is perfect. I'm really hoping they will stretch out a bit and get easier to put on.
