What a trip! To find a shoe described as having a high arch was certainly a revelation to me. Maybe I've been living under a rock -- that's entirely possible in Yoder, Wyoming (translated -- edge of the planet). I have always loved Birkenstocks because they're the only shoe or sandal I can wear without my custom orthotics. I will definitely be checking out more of your merchandise offerings in the future. Thank You!

Brands I'd also recommend: This one and other Birkenstocks, so far.

I love Birkis - I ordered this shoe in a 37 because that's what the manufacturer suggested for my 6-6 & 1/2 sized foot... I checked this site and many others to make sure it was correct, but, alas, when I received it, it was HUGE! I ended up going to a Birkenstock store in the area and had my foot measured and it turned out I needed a 36 narrow. I love them though! I would go a size smaller if you buy them!

BEST SHOES EVER - Although I've written a review before I must write again, just to get the word out that these are the best shoes ever. I was getting tired of tennis shoes and normal sandals. They were making my feet hurt after long days of standing and walking. Now that I have my Birkenstocks ( I have 4 pairs...) My feet never hurt and I am comfortable all day long. Expect some comments like sarcastic "Nice Shoes" or "Those shoes suck!" I just laugh the comments right off because I know the people that told me that don't have as comfortable shoes as I do. Sure, I don't like getting comments on them because I love them so much, but of course I put up with it for the pure comfort I get out of these. I have worn them all the time through all seasons (I change from crappy shoes and once I get inside I slip these on)and I have never once needed them resoled. I own three other Birks: the London, Arizona, and Haiti. I love all my Birks and they never fail me. I'll wear 'em 'till the day I DIE! BIRKS RULE! PEACE OUT!

Now 70, heavy for my height, retired and sedentary, I had sought footwear that was of a slip-on design, would have good plantar support, and could be used as slippers, as well as for knock-around, casual, outdoors use. I had tried the Birkenstock Boston cushioned footbed model finding it superb. I thought a high arch model of the same shoe would support my feet better. As a matter of fact, I found the high arch model wanting, inasmuch as the high arch of this shoe seems to be located primarily at the instep side of the foot, as opposed to right underneath the arch of the foot, thus negating to the wearer the benefit of a true high-arch footbed.

Brands I'd also recommend: Birkenstock Boston soft bed

Birkenstock & Zappos to the rescue! If your arches need support, these are the shoes for you. I wear orthotics in my other shoes, but these have more support. They feel good walking, standing, very comfortable leather uppers and feel so good I didn't want to take them off. You cannot go wrong and I highly recommend trying these. Zappos makes it all so easy and if you don't like them it's free shipping back to the big Z.

Birkenstock High Arch - I have very high arches and wear orthodics for running/hiking. There are a very different feel then most comfort shoes I've tried. I really liked them and very much like the high arch feel, but didn't end up keeping them because I seem to fall in between sizes. I would normally go with the larger size, but in this case, the larger seemed to throw me a bit in to a pronation (tilting in) which I don't think is intended, I also typically like a little heel lift, (and inch or so even), and this is a different shoe science all together - it supports your feet from below versus laterally and your heel is intentionally fully nested on the ground with no lift. There have a very firm, hard feel which I think would become very comfortable and wish they'd fit better. They seem very wide at first, but when you read about the Birkenstock philosophy, and wear them around the house, they seem the right width. Would definitely recommend it, esp the High Arch if you need it, but expect a different sort of 'shoe'.

Great shoes! I had my new Birks on about 60 seconds after the UPS guy dropped them off and I will tell everyone they fit perfectly and felt great. My feet have been craving firm support and the comfort and relief were immediate! I have never worn backless Birks before and put them with thick socks for the best fit. Ladies be educated that a Birk "narrow" is like a generous "B" width. I think the Birk look is funky and fun! Super excellent arch support.

Birk High Arch - Took a short while to get used to the high arch. I have flat feet so the high arch helps to align my knee joint properly for less joint stress. Very comfortable.

High Arch is painful! The arch was a little too high for my foot. I have a high arch anyway, but also suffer from Plantar Fasciitis. It made it a lot more painful.

Great Shoe if you have arch problems - I have to wear high arch shoes because of medical reasons. These are great. They work better than the Dr. ordered arch support that I can never find shoes to put them in.

Just so darn comfortable! Yes, they're pretty ugly, but for anyone who has issues with their backs because you don't have enough heel and arch support, these are the ones! I have very high arches and even the regular Birks don't have enough support, but these are amazing. First shoe ever where my arch is fully supported without putting insoles in!

Love my Birks - I have worn Birks since I was in JR High a long long time ago. They are the best shoe-sandal out there for sore tired feet. They do take getting used to. They work your toes and shins. Once that has passed your feet will love you forever.

I wear Birkenstocks exclusively; from clogs, sandals and shoes. Pricey, but worth it. I have fallen arches and this is the only brand that relieves my foot pain.

Love my new Birks - My old Birkenstocks always felt too wide; (especially after I lost 50+ lbs) I didn't even know Birks came in a narrow width! I ordered the size I have worn for 15 or so years, except in narrow, and I love them!! I got my first Birks when I was diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis, and they have done wonders. I am an X-Ray Tech, and spend lots of time on my feet.

Great shoe! I suffer from Plantar Fasciitis and Birkenstocks are the only thing that releive my heel pain. These are a nice winter addition to my growing collection. Thank you Zapppos for excellent customer service yet again and for carrying my hard to find size 35!

Very Nice Shoe - Bought these for my daughter. She loves the fit and feel for the show. They wear very well. We went with a darker color to reduce potential for showing wear.

I absolutely LOVE these shoes. They are lightweight and comfortable and look great with dress pants or jeans. I tend to wear thicker socks with these shoes, although you can wear thin socks. There is a lot of arch support which may take some getting used to. They're great for wearing around the house or for walking around town. I love these shoes and plan on always having a pair!

Looking for super comfort? It's here! I needed soft, comfortable, somewhat warm shoes that I could stand on all day. My new Boston Birks are exactly what I was looking for. My only problem (very minor) was the size range. I wear a 9.5 or 10 and could only choose from a 9/9.5 or 10/10.5. I went with the larger ones. They're roomy but not unmanageable.

Sizing for Birks-different than shoes!!! I just wanted to share that I've worn Birks for years and I wear a 7.5 women's in sneaks (Adidas, Nike, etc) and an 8 in regular shoes and I buy a 37 in Birkenstocks (they say that's a 6-6.5 I believe). So buy about a size smaller than what you wear and I'm sure you’ll be satisfied!

Brands I'd also recommend: Just more Birks!

I've become a believer - Growing up around Germans, Birkenstocks seemed to be the staple shoe. However for as long as I can remember I hated the way they looked. It wasn't until I was feeling discomfort in my feet that I opted to give them a try. WOW! I totally get it now. The minute I put the shoes on I felt the shoe immediately mold to my foot and give me the support I had been lacking. They were too comfortable that first day, I wanted to fall asleep standing up. For anyone in need of correcting a case of "flat-feet", I HIGHLY recommend these shoes.

I work in a hospital, on my feet all day long and couldn't live without these clogs. My pair is over 8 years old and holding up very well. Expensive initially but considering how much use I've gotten out of them the price was well worth it.
