I love these sneakers. Since I don't run (prefer biking) I can't call them running shoes and walking shoes would just be dumb. Anyway, they fit great and are really, really comfortable. In fact, when I went to replace the last sneakers I bought from Zappos, I found they weren't make anymore, so after loving these, I bought a second pair for when these wear out. Vanity comment: I love orange and grey, so that's another plus.

I love these shoes! I've been running in Vibrams and have loved those up until the top of my foot felt really bruised after a 10 mi run. So I purchased these and haven't looked back. They were a bit big, but I prefer them that way when running. Very comfortable. I haven't thought about my feet once! I gave 3 stars for style because some of the other ones are so much cuter, but I chose these because they seemed best for distance running.

This is a great trail running and hiking shoe - I'm now on my 3rd pair and hope these are never discontinued. They're lightweight, breath well and dry out fast when wet.

This was my first experience with both ordering from Zappos and running in a Inov-8 shoe. Zappos delivered the shoe quickly to me and I just love the shoe! I intentionally order 1/2 size larger than my normal size as that was advised by a friend who runs in Innov-8 shoes. They fit wonderfully and are very comfortable.

All that and a bag of chips - The RocLites are lightweight, well-constructed shoes. A previous "review" questions the materials - the proof in the pudding with these shoes: multiple trail runners have run the entire Appalachian Trail in Roc Lite 315s without problems. I have put less mileage on my pair than that, but the 315s tackle everything I've thrown at them, from technical trail running to hill runs.

Brands I'd also recommend: Inov-8 Flyrocs, Mudclaws

Great shoes for hiking, running, etc. Some small caveats after having them 3 seasons. They run a half size small as stated so order accordingly. They\'ve been through a lot and only now have a small amount of delam on the edge of one sole and the protective toe-cap ripped on one shoe but both could be fixed. I should mention I\'ve landscaped for about a month in these as well due to necessity. Don\'t think the dust won\'t get in either because it always does. Great summer shoe runner though! Can\'t wait to try the hi-top for hiking as I have weak ankles.

I wore these shoes for hiking in the Alps. They worked great - good traction and very comfortable. I got these from Zappos the day before I left, after trying and returning several pairs of hiking boots which either didn't fit or just weren't comfortable. I have an AAA foot, which is quite hard to fit, but found the heel of these shoes fit snugly, and I could lace them up narrow enough to fit well on my foot. Also, since they're much lighter and smaller than most hiking boots, they were easy to pack. The only drawback was that they aren't waterproof, and they got pretty wet when I hiked in a cold drizzle. I still would rate them highly, but will enjoy them more in dry weather.

Low-profile, light-weight trail shoe - This was my first experience with Inov8. Most trail shoes I run in are a bit beefier. I would not recommend this shoe for rocky trail running as I'm not sure how much "plate" material is used (if any) to protect from rock corner/edge impacts. But the shoe is very comfortable, stays low to the ground. I have a med-hi arch so the cushioning was good for me. Someone requiring stability should probably not go to this shoe. The website said to size up a full size but I found that to be an overstatement, maybe size up a half size, if at all.

Not all that. Inov8 shoes are loved by many but not me. They are to narrow in the toe box. The materials used to build the shoes are flimsy and cheaply put together. If they were made for street running then fine but I seriously doubt how well these would hold up under hard trail running. I sent em' back. Might want to look at Brooks trail running shoes. There well made and light.

As a beginning trail runner, I really wanted to love these shoes. After doing a few mudathalons last year in sneakers, I was hooked to the race and wanted to get a light trail running shoe with traction on the trail. I loved the color of these. I liked that of the natural form shoes, this one was one of Inov-8s more padded and had more stability than some of their other models. I loved the price of these compared to the other Inov-8 shoes. I did a lot of internet research and decided that because these were touted as more stable and lasting longer (souls did not have the sticky feature as some of the other Inov-8 pairs) that surely this must be the pair for me. Unfortunately, they seem very cheaply made and after only a few months of only running about 15 miles a week, the mesh at the toe area has broken at the seam and is coming loose. I am a female, and bought these the customary 1/2 size larger as advised. They are not too large nor too small. My toe was not hitting the front. In fact, the problem seems to stem from the fact that the toe box is so large and wide. I do not have a narrow foot by any means, but there is so much room that when I run down hill, the pressure increases on the mesh area and ultimately caused the mesh to break loose. I could not order a smaller size or my toe would touch the end of the shoe. Perhaps these would be better suited to a male foot. In any case, I was not impressed and although I will finish this running season out with them, next year will be buying another pair and probably another brand. These shoes do have one thing going for them, they are light, the mesh material allows for water to seep back out and for the foot to dry, and in the three mud runs I've done, I've had excellent traction and very little slipping. But the way they are cheaply made/sewn (oh, and the nylon sort of shoe lace is constantly becoming untied, even with double knots) make me say, serious runners, try something else.

I think this shoe is just ugly. I know the quality is there, but I don't want to have it on my feet! I've bought the same inov-8 shoes for several years and these apparently are not available anymore. That's it.

This is by far the best shoe I have ever owned. I purchased them for a Spartan race in September 2012 thinking I would wear them out by the time training and the race was over. Since then I have completed multiple races, hiked with them, mountain biked, have many miles of trail running, and everyday wear. I would say these shoes have 300-315 performance miles on them + another 100 miles of basic use and they still haven't broken a stitch. I am especially surprised because I over-pronate so severely that while playing college football I needed a new pair of cleats every 3 or 4 games - though these have stayed true to form. I would (and have) recommend these to anyone for any reason - trail runners, mudders, bikers, hikers, and the Pope. Enjoy!

I've gone through 4 pairs of these shoes and I will undoubtedly go through more. Rather than repeat the other reviews, I want to point out where they can be improved. First, the laces eventually fray and break, this after the shoe should probably be retired anyway. Nevertheless, they could be improved. Second, they don't do well with a 20 to 25 pound load. Coming back from a week long backpack, I found that the heels had collapsed somewhat. This makes them marginal for even light-weight backpacking over a longer hike (I'm not overweight). Finally, they have almost no torsional rigidity. I found when I carried the pack that if I placed my forefoot on a slanting rock on the trail, the shoe had a tendency to slip off. If you use them for this purpose, foot placement is very important. I don't notice the lack of side traction so much in daily hiking. As a trail runner or hiking shoe, these are terrific. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to look elsewhere for an ultra-light backpacking shoe.

I love my inov-8 Roclite 315's and you simply can't beat Zappos great service. I run long distance, usually on rugged mountain trails and these shoes really protect my feet from roots and rocks. Because they are so protective, they tend to be a little stiff. For less rugged terrain, I love my lighter and more nimble 312s.

I am completely impressed by how durable this shoe is. I have had it for about a year, and it has been my daily driver. Usually my shoes are worn out after a year - this one has taken my abuse like a brute. It still looks pretty good, and it still functions perfectly. I worked construction this summer in this shoe. That included roofing. If you have ever put on a roof, you know it is really hard on shoes. It puts a constant sideways strain on the shoe because of the pitch of the roof. These shoes handled it like a champ. I like the mesh on top. It is tough - unlike any other mesh I have come across. It feels almost like a window screen to the touch. The shoes also feel good on my feet. They are both free and supportive. They are light, too.

Excellent shoes, I bought them for several mud run/obstacle course runs that I did this year. Traction is unbelievable and shoes shed mud and water better than I could have hoped. Never came loose despite knee deep mud and several swims. Not road shoes, but for off road trail running they are tough to beat.

I really like these. I needed a long distance shoe for the spartan beast (13 miles and 25 obstacles) and my x talon 190s were not cutting it. They are great for 5k mud runs, but not for longer and on rougher trails. They also fell apart and I just never sought a return or exchange. But these were great. a tad stiff, but perhaps they will loosen up. I am still on the search for the perfect shoe since this one is a bit heavy and doesn't drain quite as well as the xt190, but it'll do. The treads were great and the cushioning and support were perfect.

Very light weight and incredible grip and feel of the trail. the heal cup is a little lower and wider than other models so some heal slip did occur but this is strictly personal. they are very breathable and quick to dry. they worked well in the rocky Sierras climbing Middle Pallisade.
