This bag rocks. I am a 1st grade teacher and I decided it was time to outgrow my backpack for hauling books and papers + cell phone, etc. to and from school. It's absolutely perfect and has plenty of room.

I LOVE this bag. I was using a big, bulky backpack for school before I bought this one. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have a big bag sometimes, but usually for quick commutes to class I really wanted something smaller. This is perfect. It fits my notebook, netbook, and school book with room for my wallet/ipod/phone. It's lightweight and well constructed, I don't have to worry about it falling apart from lugging it around everywhere. Definitely a good buy!

I ride the train and then walk about a mile to work. The bag I was using was not waterproof but was made of nylon and lightweight. When I look for a bag, I want it to be light because I know how much stuff I'm going to be putting into it. The strap is good and I wear it across my body. It is waterproof and very sturdy. The velcro is very loud but secure and in addition to the velcro, there are clips to hold the flap down. This bag is working well for me. The only thing I miss, is an outside pocket for my cell phone.

I returned this bag before using it out in the world, so I can't comment on long-term use. But having said that, it seemed like it was really well constructed, would be comfortable to carry and I liked the green colors. For me the issue was the size. I was looking for a not-too-big-and-bulky bag to carry around a binder or two for school and a few other little things with it. This size just wasn't tall enough for the binders, though it was wide enough. Of course, there's always the next size up in this bag! As always, Zappos made the return process easy and I'm going to try a different bag.

I had been wanting one of these bags for years, and finally spent the money. It is everything I had hoped it would be: tough, good looking, and designed for easy access to goods inside. One thing I didn't expect was that my 15" Macbook Pro would fit. There is no room for it with a sleeve on, but without one, it sneaks right in. Awesome!

I love this little bag. I bought it for a Euro-trip and it\'s perfect to hold all my supplies for a day while traveling around on foot. I\'ve also been using it a ton at home for all sorts of things. It\'s small without being too small to hold anything. I can fit my netbook, my sunglasses, an extra long sleeve shirt, umbrella, and some food and still have room to store things. It has lots of zippered pockets and TONS of storage space for being such a small bag. Plus, it\'s durable as hell!

Simply Great. A small bag that holds more than you would think! In this small bag I can hold two large textbooks, study guide and notebook...it is the perfect size. Great inside pocket keeps pens, pencils, wallet and phone well organized. Well made and designed to hold up. Loved this bag so much, I ordered another!
Brands I'd also recommend: The Entire Timbuk2 Line!

Timbuk2 small messenger bag - Timbuk2 makes an excellent messenger bag. It holds darn near everything you can think of and then some. I got the copper/orange/copper colored small bag for both its vibrant color (hey, I tend to forget stuff that fades into the background) and utilitarian use. I have to carry around a good deal of stuff to and from work, but I didn’t want a bulky backpack. I have been using a re-useable shopping bag but they keep ripping. So I looked around and found Timbuk2 messenger bags. It has a spacious inner compartment (for an appointment book and some other stuff) with several pockets for things like cell phone and reading glasses. Hey that works for me.
Brands I'd also recommend: padded shoulder strap

Just what the doctor ordered - I already own two timbuk2 bags so I am prejudiced. In fact, I thought it would be decadent to have a third. But it turns out there is a timbuk2 bag for every season, and for every occasion. I put away my brightly colored summer totes (for travel and the beach) and adopted this more subdued but still nifty tri-color purple messenger -- it's just the right size for me (a smallish woman) so there's not too much shoulder strain. Good for the essential books, papers, phone etc plus some snacks and lunch. And it has all the great pockets, key thingy and other features of the other timbuk2 bags. Plus with Zappos great shipping policy, I could order it in two colors and then return the one I didn't want. What could be bad?!

Just right - Although it is the small bag every thing seems to fit in it (within reason). The organization pockets work great, enough to be useful, but few enough that I can find things without looking. I use it every day to bring my things to work. In all black it is good looking and does not look purse like (which is good because I am a male). Works great for me!

Smallest Timbuk2 you can get with the longer strap length - I bought this for my boyfriend who is tall and thin but muscular. I originally bought the x-small size but when he put it on it wedged in under his armpits because the strap was too short. I had the hardest time trying to find pictures of men actually wearing the bag and it took me forever to make a decision. It would have been helpful to know what the strap length was but not even the Timbuk2 website tells you that (XS=42"/S-XL=48"). Of course ordering from Zappos was the only way to go - it was easy to return as usual.

Great product! This bag is great for everyday use. I use it to bring all my things to work. Not too big, not too small; it's the perfect size. It easily fits my umbrella, reg size documents, files, and lunch box. I received it within a day! I will definitely be using Zappos.com for future purchases - reliable and trustworthy!

Classic But Cool - This is my 2nd Timbuk2 bag, so obviously I have an affection for the brand. It's roomy enough for all my crap, but doesn't weigh the bag down. I bought it primarily for the plum color. I'm not a handbag type of gal, but the color makes this classic bag a bit feminine. By the way, Zappos has the cheapest price on Timbuk2 bags. Thanks Zappos!

BEST MESSENGER! Timbuk2 makes the absolute best messengers!!! They are super strong and very stylish. The color combinations are beautiful as well. If you want something more suited to the office, get the basic black :) The small size is perfect for a binder, a book, a notebook, and all daily essentials. If you have a small laptop, you could fit that, but not the binder and book :) For comfort, however, make sure to get a padded shoulder strap or else the bag will really hurt your shoulder.

Is a great bag, just be aware that the strap is not as long as other shoulder bags. Used it all week for a special DC trip and it worked just fine. Great bag!

Works for me - If I keep myself organized and don't let a lot of junk accumulate in my bag (all too easy to do), then everything fits nicely into this little messenger bag: wallet, collapsible umbrella, Filofax, cell phone, makeup, brush, a small water bottle. It can be a little crowded to get lunch in there as well, though. Love the black with the lavender stripe!

Very comfortable & it actually stays on your shoulder! I was worried it might be on the small side, but it has plenty of good organizational pockets & space.

I love this bag! I just got it today and already "moved in." I will use it for work (my laptop - Dell E6430 fits perfectly) and also for travel, and everything fits great! I love all the pockets (obvious and hidden) and the obviously high quality material that it is made out of.

Great bag! Perfect size for papers and a netbook. Don't let size small be mistaken for a small bag. It's not huge but quite a good size. Even medium seemed much to large for my needs. Love the water resistant color. Would prefer a different adjustable strap (thus 4 stars for style), the one that is available on the Commute since this one sticks out a bit at the bottom; however, I became used to it quickly since the rest of the bag is a perfect fit. For my papers and a netbook, this was a better than the Commute; however, with a laptop or if you want your lunch to fit in as well, go with the Commute. As usual, Zappos service was excellent. Purchased a few bags and kept the one that was best.

Love my Timbuk2 messenger bag. Bought one for Europe travels and the different small zippered compartments made keeping valuables safe. I also used this as my daily work bag and my 15-in laptop fits with room to spare.
