Love these boots! The charcoal color is exactly what I was looking for - basically a distressed black. I went down half a size and it fits perfectly. It was challenging to get my heel in the first time but the boots softened really well after the first wear. I was a little worried it would be too short to look good with skinny jeans but I've already had a lot of compliments on that look. Just beware that this is more of a true, heavy Frye.

I have these in the tan from last season; I do love them, the color is great -- goes with everything. I ordered 1/2 size down, 7 to 6.5, wore them a full day, and wanted to cut them off after walking in them for hours. Had to sell on eBay and took a loss. I did some research, tried some on in stores and found that for me, 1/2 size up is better considering that I have a bunion on my left foot. These are great with boot socks! A little heavy but they are a substantial boot. Regular size in the harness mule, yay! The Carson, regular size, the Cavalry, up 1/2 size. Hope this helps someone!

Love these. I ordered them in a 7.5 (my normal size). They are too big so I had to order a 7. This color is great! Very varied and marbled. I also order the "tan" and loved those, too. Wish I could keep both. The tan is as dark as these, but without the striations and marbled/vintage looking leather. Great looking boot, too! Again - wish I could've kept both! You can't go wrong with this boot! Had Fryes in the '70s and wore them (through 2 soles!). Nice to have a pair again! Will be back for another sometime soon!

I ride a motor scooter almost daily, and I didn't want to wear full-out motorcycle boots. These Fryes fill the bill. The cowhide is good and thick and doesn't turn all wimpy in damp weather. The charcoal gray is a perfect color choice with jeans and black pants; not too overwhelming. Easy to take off, but they take a little wiggling putting on. These boots are heavy, so think of them as ankle weights. Free workout! Made in the USA. Frye and Vespa is fabulous.

I have been wanting a pair of Frye boots for a long time. I’m glad I chose this pair -- they are stunning!!! The workmanship is impeccable, and the color and distressing of the leather is gorgeous. I saw them in a local shop and was immediately drawn to them. When they didn’t have my size I went to Zappos and of course they were in stock! I do not agree with some others’ comments that these boots run big. If you have wide ankles or a high instep then you should order at least true to size, as the harness around the ankle may be a constraint. After ordering my usual size and having to return them (totally easy with Zappos!), I tried for a half size up and they fit perfectly. I do not think these boots will disappoint!

I usually wear a size 7-1/2 but these boots ran large, so I got a 7 - they are gorgeous boots - I love them - worth the price and I know hey will last a long, long time - Zappos is awesome - they did the exchange without the first problem and I got my boots before I went home for the holidays - I would definitely recommend these - the color is just gorgeous and the size is perfect with jeans, trousers and heck, even jean mini-skirts.

Brands I'd also recommend: I am a Frye girl, when it comes to boots - that is the only kind of boot I have so I couldn\'t really recommend except maybe Dingo?

Love 'em! So I have a wider foot and I can walk in these a goodly amount of time, but after a while it starts to get rather uncomfortable towards the ball of my foot. But, other than that, I love these! They are so cute on and were just what I was looking for.

Great boots! Love the boots. They are a little loose in the heel, but they fit well with thicker socks. Zappos is awesome. They were out of stock in my size (11) so I put in for an alert when they were available. Within 24 hours I had an e-mail saying they had them available. I ordered and within just a couple days I had them in hand! Can't beat that.

So glad I bought it! I saw a co-worker with Frye harness boots and immediately wanted a pair! The suede, broken-in look and feel of these is great, and the shorter height is so cute! I wear them everyday...definitely worth the splurge. I wear a 10, bought a 10, and while they feel a little big, they are more comfy that way.

The best boots ever! What can I say about these boots that hasn't already been said? These are the most comfortable and durable boots I have ever owned. I have three pairs, and they go well with both slacks and jeans.

Classy Boot - What a wonderful boot! They look great with jeans and they are not as clumpy as my cowboy boots. I find myself wanting to wear them everywhere! The craftsmanship is also excellent.

GREAT, but just a LITTLE LOOSE... I ordered my regular size (9) and found it to be too big. Zappos sent me next lower size and its good. Will look nice with jeans... much better than having a higher on the calf boot. ZAPPOS is a great company.

Frye Harness 7R - Love this boot. It's like your favorite pair of knock around, worn-in jeans. It is a bit narrow but I have wide foot. I just know it will get better with wear.

Love my Frye boots - I don't know how y'all got red ones. I'm jealous. Mine are antique saddle suede which I love because they don't look brand new. When I took them out of the box and put them on the floor I thought they would be too narrow but they fit my feel like they were made just for me. When I was a young hippie motorcycle momma I had a pair of the taller harness boots. Those lasted years and I'm expecting the same from this pair. Makes me feel young again.

Great boots! These are even cuter in person. They look terrific under jeans (boot cut). I wear an 8 1/2 in most shoes (except Crocs and Merrells) the 8 fit perfect.

Rugged yet sexy - This shoe is comfortable, and I'm a veritable comfort junkie with really big feet. The size 11 fit me like a glove, even though I had socks on and sometimes need a 12. I think it runs about 1/2 size larger to accommodate thick socks. It has that hand-made look. It will last for years. It stylish, but in a classic way. It's a feminine yet tough look. I'm just glad these things haven't caught on like Ugg boots did a couple of years back.

Love These Boots! I was really hesitant to buy these since they were so expensive. I'm glad I finally decided to get them. They are so beautiful and comfortable. I wear them just about everyday. All around good investment. These boots are hot! I get compliments on them every time I wear them. Some notes: they felt a little narrow due to the toe at first. After a couple of days they seemed to stretch out. Now they are perfect. Also: as another reviewer commented, the red on these boots is just right-not too bright, not too tame.

Red is now my favorite color - I LOVE these boots! Be sure to buy your true size - not 1/2 size down as I read on other harness boot reviews. They are a little loose on the heel but I like the way they feel and the way they walk. Great mid heel height also. I get tons of compliments on these boots, and they are a beautiful color. When you open the box you will not believe how cool they are. Every time I wear them I get compliments, Frye are definitely pricey but hopefully they will last for years. Next time I'll get a pair with a higher shaft though this boot height is great for any boot cut pant. Zappos is great to do business with!
