Great quality but not for me - I got a Sunrise color, which out of the box looks very orange, like cheese puffs. Maybe banana would have been better. Very well-constructed, all-leather sole and all, so I can see it lasting forever. But I have a slightly wide foot and the toe box pinches my small toe. I think it'll be too painful to break this in. It wasn't love at 1st sight, so I don't want to deal with any pain. I am petite, size 5.5, and this seemed to be a bit much, with the orange color & thick clunky style. Wouldn't recommend for wide feet. If you are petite, maybe the other colors would be better.

Fit across toe area is tight/careful choosing colors - I got the Frye Campus 14L boots about 2 mos. ago. I ordered the saddle color. I did not like the color as it was too orange for my taste. It is hard to judge the colors on the website. But since Zappos has THE best return policy- it's not a big deal. I sent it back (for free!) & reordered the same boots in dark brown. I received them the next day & I really like this color better. It is much more versatile. I think they are great, classic, casual boots that I will keep for years. Love the look. They do not have great arch support and are very narrow across the toe area. Hopefully they will stretch. I have a narrow small foot (size 6 to 6.5) and they are very tight in the width. I ordered a 6 and the length is fine. If you have a wide foot- I would not suggest this boot for you. Zappos is the best online company. Great service- fast & free- no hassles. Can you ask for more than that?

Great Boots - I just received my Frye Campus 14L boots. They are really comfortable little disappointed about the color. I ordered them in Saddle and expected them to be a little darker then they were. I ordered them in an 8.5 and I'm usually a 9 and they fit well. A little big in the heel part but overall, they fit great.

Not for me - The boot was made well, but was too chunky for me. It felt clunky and heavy. I have the harness 14l and love it, but this is not feminine on my big feet and thick calves.

Almost perfect... These are beautiful boots that I have coveted for at least two years... they are taking a while to break in, however. The advice to buy a half-size down was good, but the toe box is fairly narrow. My foot is already a bit narrow and I'm still getting a bit squeezed in the right foot. I think it will loosen up, as the left foot feels perfect as is. The boots are fantastic looking - gorgeous leather - and the stacked heel is a sight to behold. I know these boots will be my faves for many years to come!

I love these boots, they are just so stylish and go with everything. They are pretty comfortable but it took 3 attempts to find a pair that matched in both size and colouring, maybe because they are handmade. Only complaints are one of them seems to let water in and the demin from jeans seems to wear off on them, making them a bit grubby. I intend to buy another pair for sure. Finally I must comment on Zappos Customer service - it's by far the best I have experienced, the Americans could really teach us Brits a few things !!!

These are great boot, at great quality. You can get a lot of looks out of it. The only thing to be aware of is that the shaft is pretty tight. It is hard to fit over jeans and wooly socks. Also, the soles are pretty slick, so be careful not to slip in rainy weather.

Yes, I know they're classic, but they are extremely stiff, heavy, clunky and uncomfortable. I just sold my pair because they were just sitting in the back of my closet for 3 years, too unpleasant to wear. Tonight I ordered a couple other Frye styles from Zappos to try on in hopes of finding a replacement. Frye's a good brand; I just wouldn't recommend the Campus boot.

I've had these boots for 3 years and have barely worn them because they are not very comfortable, I can't really fit skinny jeans inside them, and they look awkward under boot cut jeans. I'm 5'1", and have large calf muscles, which may be the problem! If your legs are a little longer and thinner, they will probably work out better for you. They do look very cute with the right dress. I would recommend trying them on quite a bit before you decide to commit to them; they are expensive.

I hate my Frye Campus. I wanted to love them. I gave them another chance even after they scraped my legs bloody. Leather is unyielding. When I put them on there are deep indentations because the leather is trying to mold to my foot/leg but can't. These are so painful in every way.

Very disappointed with this boot. It didn't have a zipper so if you try to wear your pants in, it's very difficult. Also, the boot gathered by the ankles.

Not for me - I really like the look of this shoe but even after a couple months they never got comfortable. Also the tall shaft irratates my leg. I guess this style just isn't for me.

I bought these because I wanted a "Classic Frye" 1970s style boot that you always hear people saying will always be in style. I own three other Frye boots (Melissa button saddle, Harness 12R brown and Carmen tall grey). The saddle color is not quite right, it is very light, especially with the light wood heels. I saw these on another girl with jeans tucked in and wanted that look but I think she had brown. My husband said the color and shape reminded him of a farm worker's boots! This is not exactly the look I was going for, especially at this price tag. If I had not already worn them outside, I would do a return. Also, this shape looks totally dorky under jeans, like construction boots. The Harness 12R style is way better but again I was seeking that '70s college 'Campus' look. Wish I got the darker brown. Money down the drain. Perhaps a cobbler can stain them brown?

Just received my Womens Campus Frye Boot in Dark Brown! I had this boot in the '70s in Banana - and loved it then. This boot has stood up to time excellently in its style, and fit and the overall look of this boot! Own many other Frye boots and love them all - but this one by far is my favorite. As far as sizing goes - I have always been an 8 1/2 in their boots as well as my actual shoe size - I saw from other reviews to order a half size smaller -- I do not agree - unless you are going to wear these boots with a very thin sock - I wear my thick socks with them and my regular 8 1/2 is a perfect fit! Zappos is the best! After ordering them on line - I received them the next day!

I love these Frye boots: Campus in black. I coveted this pair for 40 years before finally buying them, and they are as good as my dreams. I already had a pair of Frye harness. For both of these styles, I'd say it's true what people say, that they tend to run large. Depending on shoe brand and style, my feet usually fit either 7 or 7.5, and Frye size 7 fits me fine. This may depend on the style, though; once in a store I attempted to try on Frye Veronica tall, and could not even get my foot past the boot ankle. For the check box that asks about fit, I'll check "true to size" as it's difficult to convey these subtleties. Anyway these are beautiful boots. I can wear them through a 12-hour work day with no regrets.

I think I am in the minority here - these boots fit more snugly than I expected. My normal shoe size is an 8½, but I returned these for a 9, which fits much better. I have short legs, so these approach my knees. But if you are taller, keep in mind these likely will not be knee-high on you. Overall, though, great boots, and the quality seems high.

Love the cool, rustic look of these boots. They are warm and fit well- I'm an 11- 11 & 1/2 and the 11s are just right. They are comfortable on; only complaint is they are on the heavy side and my feet/legs can be sore after wearing all day or doing a lot of walking. I'm used to Birkenstocks so plan to get a Birkenstocks arch support/insole which may help. I have them in saddle and they go with everything. Craftsmanship is impeccable, I know i'll have them forever. Money well spent.

I have wanted these for a long time, and finally purchased. I bought them in the banana color, and they are so pretty that I wish they used a more elegant name for the color choice. The blond tone is beautifully marbled with some darker lines. They are a great heel height for all day wear, even at work, and I am out of my chair from one end of my office to the other daily. I love the height of the shaft and the square toe. They are thick leather and fully lined in leather. I think they, and particularly in the blond color, will pair well with almost anything. I am absolutely keeping them.

I hadn't had a pair of Frye boots in years mainly because if I'm going to invest in a pair of good boots I want to be able to wear them to work and many of the Frye styles are just a bit too casual for a professional office. However, once I saw the Campus boot I knew right away that it work work. The boot fits true to size and with the slightly higher heel, it looks great with skirts. These boots are a bit more expensive than some but I can tell they'll last a long time. You won't be sorry once you have them in your closet!

This is my first pair of Frye boots. I have always admired the craftsmanship. I tried on 9 different styles. They really do fit very differently. After wearing them 1 day they were broken in! Such beautiful leather! Note: not all of the boots have the finished inside leather and not all are made in the USA for the price I wanted both. It will state it on the box. The leather soles are just so well made .....can't say enough great things! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the banana yellow!

Love the Frye quality! These boots boots are a classic! Invest in some leather conditioner as they are stiff (& narrow) at first. As with any fine leather, the more you wear, the better they will get to know you.

I have wanted these boots for years and finally got them. They were snug across the front part of my foot, scrunching my toes, so I brought them to a shoe repair place and had them stretched a little for a small cost. I love them. They fit well now and look great. The calf part fits me well. I'm 5'9" and average weight. I bought my usual size 10.

This awesome boot is the quality I expected from the Frye name, the leather is superb, with an interesting coloring on the surface to give it a worn, fashionable appearance. I was pleased to find that these boots were made in the US, versus China - which I noticed on several other boots made by Frye. I love this shoe, it makes a great addition to my wardrobe. It matches with so many things.
