Feet Feet - Shoe is exactly as other reviews. Top rubs top of foot for a while. Then breaks right in. My only complaint is the inside sole is spotted. I have only had them a few weeks and was careful not to wear them in the rain. Looks like mildew marks !

Mephisto Violette - I love, love love this shoes. Extremely comfortable, great support and stylish too. They are so cute! I bought them in black and also white. I really want them in every color. The toe piece is stiff at first, but is leather unlike many other thongs, and breaks in easily.I highly recommend these shoes.

Violette - Having worn Mephisto shoe before I knew the product would be well made and comfortable. I wear sandals all summer long and like to have a variety, so I"m always looking for nice ones that I can wear for daytime and evening as well. These fit the bill.

Cute, comfortable sandals - I love these sandals and have been wearing them all the time! They are Mephisto, so they have the great suede footbed and a fabulous arch support. My feet feel great, even at the end of the day!

Way too narrow! I think the shoe is very cute and would look good with many summer outfits, but it is way too narrow for my foot. It also seems a little short (I typically wear a size 10-10.5, and the 11 seemed small). I needed to return it.

Fabulous, French and not fussy - If you want panache and comfort, Mephisto's are for you. Not glitzy but chic in their own French "in your face" way. Birkenstock people should move up to this brand. You won't believe how much more comfortable they are! If they don't feel perfect right out of the box, wear them for a few days. Heaven!

Feminine Comfort - If you're like me, and you want comfort with feminine style, these are the perfect combination. For me, thong sandals can mean blisters between the toes, but not with these. The leather thong is soft. Here style and "flirty feminine fun" meet casual comfort to create a great all around sandal for the beach, or park or anywhere. I purchased the tangerine color which looks fabulous with or without a tan.

Mephisto Violette - This is a very cute shoe, as well as a great walking shoe! I usually wear a 39 in a Mephisto shoe, but, in this shoe I needed a 38 and that was a perfect fit. I purchased the bright green, and it is vibrant. Violette is rather pricey, but, it is worth it to have fit and comfort that will last.

I Love Them! This is my second pair of Violettes, and I love them. I have them in black and in magenta and I wear them all of the time. I've not been able to wear Mephistos before, and I think it's because I was trying to wear a size too big in them. These are great!

Super, as always! If you've never worn Mephisto, you are in for a treat. I prefer their shoes over Birkenstock's, when I wear this type of shoe because they are narrower and more sleek-looking. I have a medium width foot, so my preference is not because I have narrow feet, but because Mephisto shoes are easier for me to walk in: their soles aren't as wide as those of Birkenstock's. And this shoe in particular has a lot of style! However, be sure to order one size up: I normally wear a US size 8 and I needed to get a size 39 in this style.

Too Small - I love the style but the sizing is very deceptive. I have returned them twice and finally gave up. They are very small about a full size and a half smaller than average. I read the other reviews but they didn't help with th decision.

Cute and comfortable. First, let me say that I never purchase shoes from any place but Zappos; their service is terrific and the selection incredible. Second, I just got these Mephisto sandals in fuschia and they fit so perfectly,were very attractive, and so incredibly comfortable that I am placing another order for the black sandals. You will love this sandal; it is everything a rather expensive sandal should be and more.

Cute... After looking at all the Mephisto shoes I settled on this one because it was the cutest of the lot imho. It did rub a slight blister on the top of my left foot but after that it broke in quickly with no more problems. I love the arch support as I have very high, although collapsing, arches and the support is a God send. I normally wear an 11.5 but I ordered the 12 and it's good that I did because they seem to run a bit small. I'll definitely order more Mephisto brand shoes.

Sandal du jour - but I hope they make it forever! Very attractive, and the footbed is very supportive - comfortable for standing long periods of time! For me, it is the perfect solution to dealing with plantar faciitis and my desire for feminine summer sandals. I am used to flat shoes whose soles flex, so this type of shoe felt clunky to me. For now I cannot walk at lightening speed, or great long distances in these shoes, but otherwise, no break-in time was required. I found that they were somewhat narrower than the Helen, but more comfortable. I liked them enough to buy more ... in several colors. Who knows ... I may never go back. And just as important, buying from Zappos.com has been a first class experience!!!

Violette runs very large!! This is my fourth pair of Mephisto sandals and the first time I am disappointed. They run very large and wider than my other Mephistos. I do love the look of the Violette, though! Also, there was a flaw on the leather where they glued on the flower decoration which causes a blister on the top of my foot.

will never wear these shoes again-wasted $$$ I was so excited about these shoes. Went to NYC and wore them the first night and got blisters on my feet and ruined my whole trip. I had worn the shoes a couple of times before but they stretched out so bad. I can't even wear them again. I love the Mephisto Helen. When my blisters on the top of my feet healed (liquid bandaid), I was able to wear the Helens on my last day in NY.
