I buy these Tigers because of the way they look. They are beyond cool, with their ultra low-profile design. They're sexy shoes with a definite European flair to them (though they are Japanese by design). You see these frequently around Paris on the feet of the younger generation. Even though I'm in my 40's they still look cool. You just can't find a cooler-looking, old-school style sneaker. I get compliments all the time. This, I may add, is my second pair, with 2 more on deck. Even my 14 year old son fell in love with them since nobody at his school wears them. So they have a certain "hard-to-find" cool factor that makes them more doable to many. Having said all that, they are not the most supportive shoe out there. In fact, they really are just for looks. You could run in them because they're so light, but they have zero arch support so it would be somewhat like running barefoot. The sole is flat and thin, of course. Still, they're like a feather and they look great. If you want serious running or walking shoes, these aren't them. But if you want some cool shoes, look no further.

I love the look of these shoes. But after buying 2 pairs, I can't recommend them because the suede toe gets instantly dirty and is impossible to clean. I think its a combination of the outside dirt, and sweat from my toes, but the tip of the suede is all dark, almost black. The first pair did this. so the 2nd pair, i made sure i put on suede protector. Then when they started discoloring, I tried suede cleaner and brushes, and it still looks crappy.

I love the styling of these shoes; I finally got the right size, but the binding sewn on the top of the heel rubs and is painful. So sad.

The sole is not very wide so there is a lack of support. You notice this if your feet roll in when you step. Otherwise, a super cool shoe that's made of leather.

I love these shoes! Super comfortable and cute. Didn't take any time to "break in." The only thing that bugs me is I can't get the tags on the back to lay flat.

This is a really cool shoe to have if you're looking for something a little "retro". I normally wear these shoes when I'm going out for errands or to a get-together with friends. DO NOT wear these shoes for running, since it has zero support and comfort for that sort of thing. All and all, I would get this shoe primarily for the style.

Onitsuka Tigers have been part of my rotation for years. They're comfortable, and fit my narrow feet well. Nice and light, so they're great for a party or a casual night out, but not built for walking from Hell's Kitchen to Brooklyn. Definitely buy them!

Zappos has the best service every time I order. I needed three different pairs before I found the right fit but Zappos overnighted each pair without charging my account again. I recommend Zappos to everyone that shops online. Great customer service representatives too.

As of March 2014, women's sizes are mismarked and are a full size larger than they should be. I wear a women's size 8, which is what I ordered. When it arrived, it was far too large and was marked as European size 39.5. A 39.5 is a U.S. women's size 9 according to Zappos's own size conversion chart. I sent them back and got a "7.5." It is a Euro size 39 (U.S. 8.5), and still a half size too big for my true-size-8 feet. I'll be sending them back for a "7," which will hopefully be Euro 38.5 (correct size 8).

Purchased my first pair of OT in white/emerald 12.5. Shoes look great and were what I expected as far as thin soles without much cushion. I normally wear 12 to 13 medium width depending on the brand. These are the narrowest shoes I've ever purchased...to the point of putting lots of pressure on my left big toe nail. As a means of comparison, I bought a pair of similarly minimal soled Merrill True Glove in a size 12 from a local shoe store last week and they fit perfect. The Merrill TG are 1/2 inch longer than the Mexico 66. I'm surprised to see 80% of reviewers described these shoes as true to size...they are not!

I used to wear Onitsuka Tigers all the time, and then got out of the habit a few years ago. I ordered these on a whim (looking to recapture my youth?), and I'm glad I did. The color is a little darker than the image, but I prefer that to the blinding white of most sneakers. No arch support, as is typical of these shoes, but it's easy to stick some insoles inside.

Brands I'd also recommend: Bensimons, Adidas, Tretorn, New Balance, PF Flyers

I love these shoes. They work for both workout, casual, and semi-dressed outfits. I have a wide fit and the leather gives enough that the shoe does not feel all too tight. I would suggest a pair to any of my friends.

I love these shoes! They look great with jeans! I usually wear a 7½, and I know these run small, so I bought an 8 and they are just right. The right shoe is a tad tight in the toe area, but I have pretty wide feet. They are still so comfortable, though.

So I had heard a lot of good things about these shoes and I had always been interested to purchase one and I finally did! These shoes look attractive and stylish, and they do look exactly the same as the pictures (color wise), so that was a good first impression. My shoe size has always been between 8 and 8.5, so I ordered a pair of size 8. They felt light and quite comfortable, except the toe area that was a bit tight. They were alright except I was a bit concerned whether I should have ordered one size bigger. Long story short I decided to wear them and I have been wearing them now for almost one month and they have become my new favorite shoes. I guess the narrow toes part doesn't feel tight anymore, and I'm glad I didn't return them and asked for one size larger because I don't like to feel too much extra room in my shoes. I know some people who do. I'm glad I decided to buy these shoes and I will definitely buy another pair (or two!). Highly recommended.

I am just about to purchase my second pair of these. I wear them at the gym only, primarily for weight lifting, and the first pair has lasted about two years. My original pair is still in good shape, and has worn well in terms of overall construction, but they're getting stretched out a bit and they smell pretty bad. These shoes fit well, feel great, and look darn good too . As noted, the arch support is on the low end of moderate. These have absolutely no "bounce" to them, sort of like Chuck Taylors (but more comfortable, for me).

I've had the black/gold leather version of these for four years now. This is how they've held up: For the first two years they still looked great, it's the fourth year now and they are certainly looking tired if you more than glance - but they wear their age well. The leather is fairly tough, if very thin and flexible. It would probably cut easily if you are worried about that aspect. The soles are surprisingly long wearing for how thin and soft they are (I'm 6ft and 155lbs with very low foot pressure, though). After the first year the soles are almost totally slick in the shape of your foot, but still have most of their thickness. Now they're so thin I leave almost regular footprints, and the Dr Scholls machine at the local walmart can't tell I'm wearing shoes (mine still have almost all their tread under the arch, getting down to around 2mm under the ball...very thin). Also, they still have more grip in the wet than KSO's. The upper will stretch outward to let wider feet fit in the narrower show, if you lace them loose enough - my pinkie toes tend to hang out a bit over the edge of the sole, and the pointy toe ends up as dead space (which is why I don't like them as much for running, the pointy toe annoys me and feels a a bit floppy if I lace them as loose as I like - this is literally the only thing I can find I don't like). The insole - which was glued - in was removed (by me) after it started to tear up, and both pull tabs eventually came off, one after about three years, one just last week. And this is what I think of them: These are my favorite shoes of all time. They're comfortable - never made my feet hurt in all my years of using them in my retail job - are decent for running, and look great. Previously NB classics (576, a version from like '06 I think) made my feet sore standing at work, even tried my vibrams which are great for running.. before I tore them up...but standing/walking in them all day tired my arches more for some reason even though the Tigers are basically flats too. Also, they may be the most expensive shoes I've ever purchased, but they're also by far the best value, as any shoe half this price I've tried lasts only a quarter as long. My NB classics, while they were technically still functioning after two years they also did not age well...looked trashy. Toe cap coming off, upper busted on the side from my pinkie toe trying to break free, etc. A few things I didn't expect - they're quite warm and water resistant. Also, they never ever smell bad - especially after removing the insole. Even after four years. Couldn't stand the smell of my Vibrams or now my Columbias. Also a funny story, I was in a shop recently and heard two people comment "What the...who was in here barefoot?" after seeing the footprints I left with my Tigers...it was interesting. Anyway, enough of my ramblings - 5 stars.

I love these shoes. You may have to add some support if you're looking for cushy comfort, but there is room for it. I am a woman's 9 and I buy the 7.5. Fits perfectly.

These are great kick around town shoes. They are stylish and fun to wear, but have zero support and little cushioning. I have not tried putting in an insert yet, but I notice my feet don't feel great after wearing for a while on hard surfaces like a street.

I love the old school look of these shoes. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars on comfort is that the backs are pretty stiff for the first couple wears. I had to wear a bandage on the backs of my ankles to prevent blisters. But I find this not to be unusual with most leather gym shoes.
