This is one of the best dress shoes available. I've worn Allen-Edmonds for over 20 years now, and I'm a completely satisfied customer. They stand behind their products with both a lifetime limited warranty and a reasonably priced resoling/refurbishing service. I still have the first pair of Allen-Edmonds shoes I bought 20 years ago, and they look just as good now as they did then. The Park Avenue is one of their classiest shoes. It's very versatile, as they will go with any dress occasion, and the cap toe won't be "out of style" anytime soon. Their sturdy but very attractive leather uppers have a great shine (just as shown in the photo) and with proper care, will look just as good for many years. Sizing varies quite a bit between styles, and of the four pair of Allen-Edmonds I own, these are the widest. My foot is long and somewhat narrow; while I typically wear a D width, in these I went with a C and could possibly have worn a B. I find they're reasonably comfortable overall and I'd feel comfortable walking many miles in them, but they're not as cushy as an Ecco or Hush Puppies. Keep in mind that Allen-Edmonds uses a leather sole, and while they're a very sturdy shoe they're not intended for long-distance treks in the great urban outdoors. It's the usual two-out-of-three compromise between "looks good", "feels good" and "lasts forever." If you find yourself walking outside more often than in, you will be happier with an Ecco or another synthetic-soled shoe. I do a lot of walking outside, and I frequently wear these, but the soles wear out faster than I'd prefer; I have to get them resoled every 3-4 years, which is not unreasonable given how many shoes these days aren't meant to be worn more than a year... Styles come and go, and so do "designer" shoes. Allen-Edmonds aren't designer shoes, they're shoes meant to be worn for a lifetime. You can try to follow the trends and buy a new pair of shoes every year, but I'd suggest buying a pair of classic dress shoes instead; it's cheaper, and far classier, in the long run. Allen-Edmonds is one of the few remaining dress shoe companies still in business, and that's for a reason. I have no connection with Allen-Edmonds. I'm just a very satisfied customer.

I love the style of my brown, textured pair. Unfortunately, all Allen-Edmonds dress shoes do not fit the same; you may not enjoy this pair as much as you do another pair of A-Es. So be sure your order has an acceptable return policy. Zappos seems to be pretty good in this respect. I just wish I had used Zappos for this purchase. Now on to the fit/comfort comments: I ordered the Park Avenue and another style of shoe at an Allen Edmonds trunk show (hosted by a 3rd party retailer) and couldn't try them on before purchasing. However, I was confident my size was correct because I have a wonderful pair of Delrays that continue to feel great after many years of use. Weeks after placing my order, I was disappointed to receive an expensive shoe that didn't fit well at all and had mediocre comfort. The 3rd party retail's special order policy prohibited any returns and refunds. The insole is practically flat and cannot be removed. The balls of my feet and toes are sore by the end of the day (FYI, the length of the shoe is fine). I tried to fix the problem by adding a very thin insole, but that throws off the entire fit even more. Also, when you take a stride, the shoe's opening around the ankle bows significantly on on each side. My other Allen-Edmonds dress shoes (Delray) do not share this characteristic. Finally, if you're feet are "lower volume" (for lack of a better term), but not narrow, the fit is not snug even with a standard tongue pad (which usually does the trick for me). So this latter comment may apply to only a limited audience. Bottom line -- not all Allen Edmonds oxfords will fit the same.

This is a great shoe. I bought them as a gift and the recipient could only rave about how comfortable they were right out of the box. This is his second pair in 5 years-they last a long time. Its also great EA has a refurbishing program to extend the life of these shoes.

My shoe size is normally 7 1/2 D. Based on reviews from others, I selected a size 8, and it turned out to be the right fit for me. It is an excellent quality shoe that should last many years.

This is the third pair of these that I've bought! They wear well and are quite comfortable. While they can be pricey, they are well worth the money.

This is my third pair of Park Avenues. I was debating on getting a less expensive shoe, but after I got them, I realized I made the right choice. The style is timeless, classy, and not pretentious. AE makes great shoes. Period. And they last forever. I had the last pair re-soled (re-done) by AE, and they do an amazing job.

These are the best Men's dress shoes available. They look great, feel great and are built to last. How often can you afford the best in the world of anything? And get to wear them every day? Highly recommended.

I got these shoes and took them to Japan and Taiwan the next day. They were comfortable right out of the box and for the whole trip and continue to be so. I have other pairs of A-E shoes, and they are true to size and comfortable all the time.

Pros: great quality, looks awesome. Cons: very narrow especially in the toe area. All the shoes I've ever bought in my adult life have been a size 10d. A 10d didn't come anywhere close to fitting and neither did a 10e. Thankfully Zappos has been great about returns, thanks Zappos.

I was previously loyal to Cole Haan but had heard great things of AE shoes from work colleagues. These definitely carry a premium price, but after owning this pair for 3 weeks, they seem to be well worth the investment. The leather was a little stiff initially, but 5 days of wear has broken them in nicely. I highly recommend purchasing cedar shoe trees to keep the shape. On top of the classic style and comfort, the option to send them to AE corporate to have them re-crafted is what sold me. Zappos comes through again!

This shoe was my first from Allen-Edmonds. I had them for 15 years. A-E refurbished them once, and then I found a local shoe repair man who did just as good a job for a good amount less. This shoe is a classic, and I could even get away with wearing them with a tux. A-E does not use a steel shank, unlike the other great American shoe maker (Alden), which means they break in soon and are very comfortable, assuming one was properly fitted.

Brands I'd also recommend: Alden, Johnston Murphy, Bally,

This is an excellent dress shoe: top quality and comfortable. It goes with a wider variety of business attire without the wingtip detailing. It's my favorite all around dress shoe for business and interviews. It has minimal arch support compared to some competing brands but is very comfortable nonetheless.

I purchased a pair of Allen-Edmonds Park Avenue dress shoes from Zappos. In the past, I've bought these from the local department store. But Zappos's price was cheaper, their delivery was free, and they even tossed in next-day delivery at no extra charge. The shoes, of course, were new and exactly what I ordered. So kudos to Zappos. The shoes, themselves, are classic- one of Allen-Edmonds best sellers over the years. A simple cap toe with clean lines. And they're available in a long, narrow size which I wear and which is typically difficult to find. I've owned Park Avenue shoes for the past 10 years. They hold up well to normal business wear. They resole or half-sole nicely. And they are comfortable for even those days when I'm on my feet, walking or standing, for most of the day.

Park Avenue Performance from Zappos! My size is very rare- 13AAA. These are very comfortable, stylish, classy, and the service could not have been better. My experience did not include immediate comfort out of the box as described by others, but after 2 wearings, the shoes "broke in" to a nice comfort level. Zappos will now be my first stop for shoes, instead of my last stop in desperation, as it was this time. I could not be happier. Thanks!!!

Outstanding. These are probably the best shoe I'll ever own. The leather quality is excellent. The shoes feel comfortable almost immediately. They aren't running shoes, but they're not going to give you blisters either. The styling is classic and will always be great for formal wear. The shoe is built on a narrow last, so their normal-width fits a bit tight on normal feet. Unless you have skinny feet, you might want to go with the wide size.

Did not settle - Usually I have to settle for D width shoes and figure out how to make them work. The Park Avenues in C width were perfect. The only reason for 4 stars for comfort is because they are dress shoes with hard soles. These shoes are expensive, but they are also well built and beautiful.

This is the best dress shoe on the market. If you are hesitating between the Park Avenue and another pair of shoes, please do not hesitate! Price, quality, reliability, comfort... there is nothing like it. I have been a loyal Allen Edmonds customer ever since I bought a pair two years ago; these are my third pair. Again, there's nothing like it. They're the best dress shoe on the market.

My first impression was that these shoes are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn. The shoes have a traditional cap toe style, but I would have preferred a less pointed toe such as with the AE Byron.

I'm speechless. I have been eyeing this pair for a good 5 years and finally bought it. I must say I wish I bought them a long time ago. These shoes are very classic looking... I mean it's 5 yrs later, and I still couldn't find a better looking shoe. Having owned a pair of AE before, I knew my size, and they fit like a glove right out of the box.

I just bought my 2nd pair!!! These are, by far, the best dress shoes I have ever owned. They took a couple of wears to break-in, but after that, they became the most comfortable dress shoe I have ever worn. They are incredibly well-made and look very sharp. My first pair were black, and I just ordered a brown pair. I wish I would have spent the extra money years ago.
