Love, love these sandals. Great foot/arch support without looking to "nurse" the shoe... I am a half size so I sized down from 7.5 to 7 and fit great; no need to break them in. They were great from day one. I have a bad back so I can't wear flip flops; these have a great summer feel without giving up comfort and support. I own 4 pairs of these in different colors.

I have plantar fasciitis and this is the only shoe that helps me. Both my daughters also wear them and introduced them to me. We all have at least 2 pair. I just sent a pair over to Australia where I have a friend who also has plantar fasciitis - she received them the other day and just loves them. Said they make her feet feel so good and sure they will see a lot of wear during the upcoming summer. A must buy! You won't regret it, money well spent.

I just want to update my review of the Helen. I was so excited about the look of the sandals that I immediately wrote a review, but after I read the manufacturer recommendations on the shoebox lid, I had to return them for a larger size. Mephisto wrote that the best fit needs approximately 6-7mm of sandal in front of your toes and the same amount of footbed behind your heel. After the initial excitement of looking at the Helen in sand cobra (it is truly glam!) on my feet, I realized that the size 9 (I normally wear 9½) was too small as there was not enough footbed in front and behind my feet. By the way, I know the size of 7mm-it is the width of my wedding band and a little bigger than a 1/3 of an inch. I love absolutely love Zappos! I ordered the size 10 Helen the same evening I got the too small size 9 and got the 10 the next day! Of course, I returned the size 9 with a quick and free mailing label from Zappos from my printer. To reiterate, a size 9 would take a size 9, a 9½ would take a size 10. If you are a half size, order up, not down. These sandals are stunningly beautiful!

Between arthritis, plantar faciitis, achilles tendonitis, etc., it's been a long time since I've been out of my Spira walking shoes for more than a few minutes at a time. My orthopedic surgeon's nurse turned me on to Mephisto. She wears them religiously. I can actually wear my Helens the whole day long. They fit like a glove. The engineering of the arches and heels provides the support and stability I need.

This is my favorite summer shoe of all time. I wore my last pair for 7 years and then replaced them. It's like a Birkenstock, only narrower, softer (the sole has air cushions) and more flattering. You don't have that feeling of walking in swimming flippers that you get with Birks. And people actually complement me on the style, including my dad who normally hates all 'comfortable' looking shoes. Worth the investment.

Although I found the site a bit unwieldy because it is so big, I was able to navigate it and found the sandals that I used to wear all the time and had been searching for. They are the most comfortable sandals that I have ever worn. They are dressy enough to go with a skirt or dress and casual enough to be worn with pants or shorts. I highly recommend them.

I bought these for a trip to Peru and Ecuador. They were great for city walking and for "evening" wear. Just dressy enough with the bit of shine. I got a lot of compliments. They also added a bit of style to my neutral travel color scheme. I had bought the same shoe in a peachy color some years ago so I was pretty confident of the comfort and fit.

There's a reason these are offered in more than a dozen colors. They somehow manage to be comfortable and flattering. There are no straps to hurt your toes -- they are as easy to wear and as stylish as flip flops but they have a lot more cushioning and support. After two or three summers the footbed tends to get squashed down and smooth. Just tighten the straps a little. I purchase a new pair every other year or so. No longer even bother to consider other styles.

Mephisto, in general, is the most comfortable shoe out there. I must have at least 15 pairs of the style Helen alone. When I go on vacation that's all I take. You can walk in them all day and no pain. I wish they would come with yellow and orange so I can purchase those too!

I've been wearing the Helen style for about eight years now and won't wear anything else. They are a great investment and don't wear out like other sandals. I can be on my feet all day and my feet never hurt -- great foot bed and high arch supports. I have these in black, brown and white to go with everything in the warm months. They do run a little small -- order up a half size.

Great shoe, comfortable right out of the box. For sizing help I am a 7-7.5 in shoes and a 7.5 in running shoes and I ordered the size 38. They fit just like they are suppose to.

Consider the Helen Plus if you have a wide foot. I have a slightly wide foot and found the Helen to be too narrow. The footbed does seem very comfortable.

I absolutely love these! However, I had to return previous pair due to size. I wear a 6 and the 36 was too long! So I ordered this pair a size smaller, not larger or even my normal size.

Mephisto is an amazing shoe. I have a high arch and this is the only sandal that I have found that has great arch support and looks great. I started wearing this style of Mephisto after foot surgery 10 years ago and could not imagine life without them. I live in Florida so I pretty much wear them all year long.
