I was the proud owner of this same exact model of docs 20 years ago. I wanted to revisit my youth so a just bought a pair. I love them their stylish I can wear them with kahkis for work. Perfect choice.

Well, I chose one size down and found out that it fits small. So I suggest that you should choose your normal size.

Love these boots, I learned from my last pair that a thick pair of socks help "the break in period." I've worn them for a week and they are very comfortable. Hopefully they will last like my last pair (13 years). I had a bad back before I started wearing Dr. Marten's. I haven't had any back pain for 13 years. So to me, they are worth every penny.

I absolutely love these boots. I was concerned about the supposedly "heavy" leather of this model, but it's very supple, and in fact, required no breaking in to be comfortable at all. The soles are awesome - light, moderate arch support, and very comfortable when on your feet for long periods. Size wise, I'd seen reviews saying they run a little small, so I tried on some other Docs locally before ordering. I sometimes wear a 44 in EU sizes, but in most Docs, including these, 43 is a perfect fit. I'm done with trying to economize with off brand shoes and boots, the comfort and fit is well worth a few dollars more.

I am so pleased with this shoe. In an effort to save money I had purchased other pairs of combat boots but ended up returning them because mothing can compare to Dr. Martens. They are worth every penny, and you will wear them to shreds. They give instant street-cred to any outfit, and just make every piece of clothing more legit. You will not regret buying these.

Definitely easier to break in than my original Docs, but the quality isn't the same as I remember, hopefully they'll last awhile. I've had my other pain 11 years, but I wanted something without a steel toe.

I actually bought these to go with my wedding outfit. They are super comfortable, and look amazing. It's the first pair of Docs I had purchased in a while, and the price could not be beat -- I would have paid more anywhere else. These will definitely last me a good while.

These shoes were just what I expected. This style of shoe is larger in size than standard shoes; e.g. I wear a size 10, but had to buy in size 9 for this style of shoe and they fit perfectly! I am very happy with my purchase! This was a great shopping experience at Zappos, thank you.

I have been trying to find these in the tan unrestricted color for months, literally everywhere online was sold out. I finally got them last week and they were instantly my favorite boots. These are so awesome looking and feel so good. I am very happy. I have tried other colors in these and been very disappointed in the quality, then returned them to Zappos, but if you stick with the natural leathers (aztecs and tan unrestricted) it is simply killer.

This is my second pair of 1460's. The first finally wore out -- after 15 years. These things last like no other boot I've ever owned. No reason to get anything else. Great product.

These boots run large. I'm a US 10.5 and got these in a US 10 and they're just about right. They're roomy but not loose. I recommend thick socks and guessing a size low if you're a half size. Break-in was effortless. I just wore them normally and did a lot of walking and after three days they felt fine. The only problem (if you drive a manual) is a little chafing on my clutch ankle, but that was gone after a week or two. The leather is good, but not the great quality of the old English-made DMs. They get softer with some elbow grease and Wonder Balsam. The semigloss greasy leather looks great and is water-resistant.

Wear a size 11, ordered a size 10...very tight fit. Should have gone with the 11 (US). Also, shoe looked cheap...leather felt like plastic...not the quality of Doc's I'm used to back in the day.

Ordered the cherry red smooth. Striking color. Unfortunately, even after owing them a few years, they are still stiff. They squeak when I walk and I get bad blisters on my heels.

Apparently, people are too lazy to read before they buy. Doc Martens run true to size...if you buy the right size to begin with. I wear a US women's 10. That corresponds to a UK 8. Rule of thumb for most women's Docs: whatever the UK size is, it is 2 sizes bigger for US women i.e. UK 7 = US 9 ... UK 8 = US 10. Not hard at all if you can read. Docs were a better quality in the past as they were made in England. Now they are made in China. This is definitely the consumer's loss. You can still find them made in the UK, but you have to invest time looking. To me, that time is worth it. If I'm going to part with this much money for footwear, it's going to be well-made footwear! 1460's are still my favorite style of Doc Martens.

A lot has been said how how these aren't as good as when the company was English (I suppose the same was said by the Germans when production moved to the UK). But at this price you're not going to be able to buy a pair of English shoes (or even a pair of Red Wings), now are you? What you are buying is a pair of boots with a great oil resistant/non-slip sole and a leather upper that, yes is thin and treated to the point of being synthetic, but has proven to me to be very resistant against scratching/abrasion. I also found the fit to be longer and wider than normal, but not quite the full 1/2 size larger as stated by other reviewers. Probably bigger enough to accommodate an extra thick pair of socks in the Winter, but not enough that a smaller size would work better. Maybe one day I'll ask Santa for a pair of Solovairs, but for now these are proving to be a good pair of motorcycle boots.

Brands I'd also recommend: Red Wing

These shoes run fairly big so I had to purchase them half a size smaller than usual. I'm normally a 5.5, purchased the US 6 at first, then exchanged them for US 5. The 5's are about 1/2 a size too big still but the 8-eye lacing makes them feel perfect. They are so comfortable and classic.

These boots are awesome! I must say. Zappos is awesome, too. It is my Favorite place to shop. I have gotten my parents shopping here too. They just bought these for my daughter Alexis for her 14 Birthday and she loves them! My Mom was so happy with the customer service at Zappos. They are always so friendly and kind. The shipping was so fast! Two days! That is great customer service! Thank you, Zappos. You are our favorite place and we tell everyone about you! These boots are hot! The are heavy duty and a great price! The style is awesome! You will love them! They are great! I am a shoe queen and I know good boots and these definitely are! You will love them! Thanks, Zappos! You rock!

There's a reason that, fifty-two years after they first came out, the Dr. Martens boot is still selling strong with no sign of letting down. They are just so damn comfortable and stylish without going flamboyant in design. I bought my first pair when I was eighteen and a half, back in 2010, in white. All the comfort I expected, as well as the compliments, came, but white wasn't simply me (I wanted black, but the store was permanently out of it). But just a few days ago, in Hong Kong, desperate for a new pair of shoes, I bought a black nappa pair in the same size - I wear a US 8 for boots although my foot is a US 7. Since black was the color I felt looked best (apart from aztec), I was beyond satisfied. They look really cool with jeans any shade of blue or even shorts - tomorrow I'm wearing them to university in the latter. Although they look small on your feet when you look down, looking in a mirror shows otherwise, and they actually make you look a lot cooler. Even better, the expected period of breaking-in hell lasted literally only a few minutes - I briefly wore them in the hotel and back home in Manila, and before the first hour was up my Docs felt like I'd had them forever! I see one previous review attributes this to the nature of nappa leather, so I'm glad I got it (I was hoping I had the black greasy style). The made-in-England pair was almost twice as expensive as the made-in-China pair, and I'm just a student living on allowance, so I bought the latter - but all the stories about poor Chinese quality seem to not apply here. I'm very hard on shoes, especially as I walk a lot, and I have a seven-year-old pair of CAT boots (made in China!) that have gone through eons of abuse and are still in perfect condition now (except for the cleanliness). Besides, I'm sure Dr. Martens ensures quality control so manufacturing in China would not really compromise quality especially now, now that so many have complained. (They list the 1460 as part of the Material Updates collection, so I'm expecting to attribute my boots' near-excellent quality here). I expect I would be able to wear these even with formal attire or even for things such as running (though I should not be so hard on them in this case!), and I would gladly buy this style many times over, both again in black and in other colors. I've made another leather companion for life.

Brands I'd also recommend: Timberland, Caterpillar

Great boot. These last for 18 months of light duty use and then become yard boots. Uppers never fall apart and polish out very well.
