Keen Incline Mid
I got these boots for my hubby for a trip to Moscow & St Petersburg in late December. We planned to do lots of exploring on foot and had been forewarned about extreme temperatures, icy sidewalks and deep slush on streets. So I was searching for warm, comfortable and truly waterproof with good traction. I ordered several pairs of boots for him to try (Columbia, North Face, Merrell, Sorel) before trying these. They all had good features but none of them were comfortable for lots of walking. He was getting frustrated and concerned he wouldn't find boots for our big trip. I should've just gone with Keen first because he and I both have several pairs of Keen shoes and they always feel great. When he finally tried on this pair of Keen Incline Mids, he took one walk around the room, smiled with relief, and said they already felt like old faves! Success! They fit true to size as far as all his other Keens. That is, about 1/2 size small. Whereas he was trying 9 1/2 in almost all the other brands...in Keens the 10 is a perfect fit with an average thick Smartwool sock. At least they are consistent. The true test was the trip to Russia. We just got home and I'm pleased to report the boots performed perfectly! Average temps ranged from +15 to -10. Sidewalks in St Petersburg were covered with treacherous black ice. Streets were covered with slush. Almost every time we stepped off a curb our feet were totally submerged into 4-6 inches of dirty slushy water. These boots came through with flying colors! At the end of long days outside in the elements, my husband reported toasty warm and totally dry feet. Oh, and no break-in time was needed either. They felt great straight out of the box. They have kind of a big clunky look on the foot but who cares if they work, right? The upper part of the boot is a very subtle olive shade, which was nice, but never showed because his jeans covered that part. The foot part is black. By the way, if any women are reading this and wondering which boots I wore on this same trip...I can highly recommend Clark's Wave Shelter in your normal shoe size with a moderately thick Smart Wool sock and pants tucked in. Perfection! We both wore our new boots all day, every day for 8 days straight in Russia and couldn't have been happier. Hope this helps.

These are not for snow travel. The sole is slippery off pavement. The size is on size smaller than posted. Overall a good boot, warm but not for snow travel. I liked the Summit much better.
