Not really sure what NB was thinking this time around. There is very little resemblance between the the first and second version MX20's. The v2's are much narrower in the toe than the originals. This completely voids the roomy toe box of the v1's, which was an awesome feature. NB used a lot of plastic material on the v2's, making them just look and feel cheap. I was really looking forward to these after not having much luck in finding the size/color I wanted in originals. Sent these back immediately. Thankfully, I did eventually find a pair of the v1's. If you do try these, NB has corrected the running small sizing issue of the v1's. Order your regular size. I definitely recommend not wasting your time with the v2's and just getting the v1's, if you can find your size/color choice.

New Balance hit it out of the park with this one. I am always searching for a shoe that fits properly and this is the first one that works for me. I have skinny ankles and wide feet. This shoe is great for lifting and offer tons of lateral support. They actually look like normal shoes on my feet compared to other pairs I've had that tended to look like clown shoes. As far as durability, I don't foresee any issues. The quality is great and the lining is actually thick enough to take some abuse. I've had other Minimus pairs and these are far superior to any others I've had.

I really like the first version of this shoe so I couldn't wait to try the second generation. What a disappointment. The fit is just terrible. The plastic overlays that are new to the second generation causes the toe box to flex in really odd places creating an uncomfortable feel all the way around. I knew I was returning after five seconds.

I really like this shoe. Really lightweight and a very thin sole which I wanted. Had intended on using these for my morning "march" around the mall each day but immediately discovered that though they are an excellent fit and extremely comfortable, they don't have the shock absorption (thin sole in heel area) I need for fast walking on a hard surface. In my case, for this kind of activity, I obviously need a shoe that has that thicker shock absorbing sole near the heel. After completing my morning laps with these "NB"s for the first time my lower back was telling me I needed something different. For casual wear, however, the MX20V2 is not only a very sharp looking shoe, it's extremely comfortable as well. I'm certainly not dissatisfied with my purchase and am sure over time I'll get a lot of wear out of them.

My 10 year old loves these shoes. He has wide feet and they fit him perfectly. There is not a lot of support like the thicker soled shoes.
