These are great boots! For the longest time, I have been looking for classic riding boots that fit with jeans tucked in. A lot of boots are way too narrow to fit my calves, but many of the wide calf boots are way too big and floppy. These fit stylishly and comfortably, even with jeans tucked in. Although I usually wear an 8½, I ordered a 9 so I could wear thicker boot socks in the winter. Given that, the boots are a tiny bit loose around the ankles, but not enough to bother me. There is also enough room if I wanted to add an insert for more arch support. Unlike the previous review, I did not notice a difference in size or fit between the right/left boots. The boots seem to be of excellent quality. I have already had several compliments on them and would love to buy them in more colors!

I recently received these boots and would say that I am very pleased as they fit perfectly! I have large calves, 15.5 inches, and all the normal sized boots just don't zip up. I wanted to also fit my skinny jeans in, and that was seeming to be impossible before these boots. When I received them in the mail I was a little skeptical as I was trying them on with some thicker jeans, but they zipped up just fine, and there was no excess width to look funny. The color is perfect if you are looking for the Cognac, medium brown shade. Haven't seen anything else like this, for this price, that fit my calves, and I've been looking for the past year! I marked "true to width" as the shoes are technically considered "wide-width" on the packaging they came in (FYI).

This is a great looking and great fitting boot. Very comfortable, padded footbed, nice and soft leather and great warm brown color. The only reason I am returning them, is that the Etienne Ainger Chastity wide calf boot, which I also ordered, was a bit taller, which I preferred. This one though was more comfortable. If I could afford two pairs, I would have kept these. Guess I just traded height for comfort... silly me...

I got these two weeks ago, and they are perfect. I bought the dark brown boots, and it is noticeably lighter than the picture, which I liked. I wear an 8.5 but bought these boots in a 9. There a tad bit big, but it's not noticeable and will be perfect when wearing thick socks in winter. Can't wait to wear these when it finally gets cold out. I really liked these, and they look really expensive.

First of all, a big shout out to Zappos for getting these boots to my house less than 24 hours after I ordered them! Second, although it is not explicit in the description, these boots are wide calf. I am 5'6" and have "athletic" calves (16") and these boots fit perfectly! They are true to size and very comfortable. The cognac color is beautiful, and I love the simple design with just a touch of metal hardware. I also like that the only elastic is a small section at the top, on the inside of the boot. If you are looking for a wide calf, classic riding-style boot, this is a great choice!

I received these in the mail yesterday tried them on but have yet to wear them outside. I unfortunately don't think these boots will withstand snow or rain during this cold season so I need to wait until this snowy weather in NYC subsides. The boots themselves look very classy and actually elongate your legs which is great for a woman who has thicker or muscular calves like myself. The boots are not entirely leather so they feel a little cheap. I got them in an 8.5 instead of an 8, which I normally wear, because I expect to use thicker socks with them. They fit just fine; a little snug on the calf (apparently my calves are too muscular for them to close smoothly) but they did close and looked great! I plan on wearing them with leggings, skirts or dresses not jeans.

Comfortable, nice quality boot that actually fit my calved perfectly. Luckily they fit just right but left little room if I wanted to tuck my jeans inside my boots. I don't really do that, so I am fine with how they fit. Overall a great boot. The leather gets scuffed easily, but they look nice regardless.

The boot is beautiful and so is the color. I wear a size 7 but my legs are huge so these didn't zip up all the way. Super cute though.

The shoe portion was much bigger than it should be, and the calf was much narrower than indicated.

Brands I'd also recommend: UGGS is definitely something to be considered - no hassle with wide or not enough wide, it fits (at least, in my case it always does).

I got these and the Etienne Aigner Chastity Wide Shaft boots. They were both equally nice and both fit well, true-to-size and around my calves which are about 16 1/2-17 inches, but these had wide ankles as well as wide calves so the ankles just bunched up and didn't look as nice. I ended up returning these and keeping the Aigners.

These are affordable boots that I thought looked a little cheap. If you want to own a lot of different styles and colors these may work for you. If you prefer to have only a couple of really nice boots you may also be disappointed in them. I ordered in cognac and did like the color. The leather and buckle quality are what I did not care for.

It's hard to find riding boots to fit over my calves, but these boots were perfect. The look nice and I wear them often. It's a little stiff around the ankle but I have only had them for a few weeks, so after I break these in, they'll be fine. They are worth the price because the quality is good and it's such a sleek boot that it goes with just about everything. I was able to zip these over a pair of jeans just fine. I would definitely recommend buying these boots!

I thought I had found the perfect boot. I have been searching for 2 years only to come up short of my goal. I first ordered these boots a half size larger (7) to accommodate for socks. The boots were the perfect size for my calves which are 16 inches. But the length of the toe stood out almost two inches from my foot and the ankle area was too loose so I exchanged them for a 6.5 which is my normal size (actually I wear a 6 wide but I have to go up a half size unless the shoe stipulates a wide shoe box). When I received the 6.5, I was so disappointed. This pair I could hardly zip up. And worse yet...it had an area that was scuffed at the side buckle and the leather was showing almost white, so the dye does not go all the way through the leather...very cheaply made. I am sadly sending these back and doubt I will ever find a boot that has it all.

The color is fantastic, the height is great for a riding boot, abd they're comfortable enough to wear for hours. I didn't realize I had ordered a 'wide-calf' but kept them anyway because they are so cute!

I have muscular calves and have never been able to find a pair of nice boots that fit that weren't too "extended" and flopped around my leg. These boots fit very nicely! While they aren't real leather it seems, they look nice enough that you'd never notice. I have a 15.5" calf and these fit very well. They also seem to stretch a bit after a couple wears. I've worn over skinny jeans and on bare legs. Really pleased with this purchase for the price. And as always, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Zappos.

This is a decently made boot that fits my 16.75" calves, and with the elastic goring, might be able to accommodate skinny jeans if the material was very thin. I was hoping it would look a little more sharp & equestrian in person, but unfortunately it just looks a little bit too old-lady-ish for me. I'm also not a huge fan of the patent ribbon on the side, nor the lion-headed button; they looked a little cheap. Still it was very comfortable and I'm sure would wear well!
