Disappointed--strap is so long, even on the smallest hole, that the shoe is unwearable. Cannot add additional holes without also shortening the end of the strap (major surgery). What a shame--construction is otherwise beautiful. By the way, the leather is more distressed than it appears in the photo, at least in the trapunto colour.

Love these shoes. They are my first experience with Frye, and I can really tell the difference in the craftsmanship. Like the other reviewer noted, the strap across the top of the shoe was slightly loose. I have a pretty narrow foot and I adjusted it to the tightest setting, which was just fine for me. I don't think the looseness of the strap is particularly noticeable, and haven't given it a second thought. Onto the comfort level: there is a definite breaking-in period. They already feel better on my feet after wearing them twice, so I believe they will take less time to break in than my Doc Martens. These shoes are already a staple, and will help transition my summer clothes into fall and beyond.

This shoe is very cute; I like that the strap is not tight across the top of the foot -- just enough to hold the shoe on the foot, but not enough to put pressure on. I got it in my normal size, and it's too small, though. I definitely suggest going up a half-size.

Love this shoe! Very cute style and the fit is almost perfect. The strap is a little too big if you have narrow feet, and also runs around a half size too big.

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

I love these shoes. I get compliments all the time. Just be sure to get inserts for added arch support.

I lusted over these shoes for months before buying them. So glad I finally did. They're definitely going to be my go-to shoe for spring and summer.

I bought these shoes last August in tobacco (light brown). They took a little while to break in, but I am so glad I purchased them - well worth the money. They are comfortable and can be casual or dressy. I probably wear them to work at least 3 times per week now that it's warmer out and I'm not wearing boots anymore. I feel like these shoes run slightly narrow. Like others have mentioned the strap is loose, but honestly, I don't even need it to be tight because the shoe fits well (and usually my heels slip out of other shoes). Highly recommend!
