These are great leggings, perfect for layering or wearing on their own. They're warm but not overwhelmingly so. After two pairs over two years and two attempts to carefully store in cedar, however, they have once again emerged laden with moth holes. If you're fortunate enough to live in a non-mothy locale, buy these (or if you have a sure fire way to keep the moths away - I was diligent buy they love this super fine merino to a baffling degree - I have talked with others who have had similar problems here in WI despite efforts to store using mothballs or cedar). They're pricey, though, so I'll be moving to synthetics since replacing them each year is not an option.

I bought the Smartwool Midweight bottom to wear as a base layer under my slacks during the winter, when the weather temperature dropped during the day and whenever I took an excursion to the mountains during snow. I am most pleased by the performance of the Smartwool base layer. It keeps me comfortably warm and it fits well. I am unable to detect that I am wearing it because there is no bulk. It fits like a second skin. I have been familiar with Smartwool for many years purchasing their socks, and have never been disappointed with the brand. It continues to be trustworthy in quality of material and workmanship. In my opinion, Smartwool is a top brand which I shall continue to buy.

I love these! They are warm and comfy. I wear them as a base layer for winter activities as well as tights under skirts so I can actually stay warm in winter. I am 5'9 and 190 lbs with a short torso and long legs, and they both fit and are long enough, which is hard for me to find. I have two pairs of the mid weight and one of the micro weight. I highly recommend these to anyone!

I am a huge fan of all things SmartWool. These leggings are no exception -- soft, warm and not at all itchy. They are true to fit and I use them under pants on cold days or as PJ's on cold nights.

I love my Smartwool midweight thermals because they are warm, soft and thin. Because they aren't bulky it makes for comfortable layering. The pair I got are in a fun stripe, a welcome change from the usual black or white.

I received these Smartwool tights about a month ago, and pretty much haven't taken them off since! They are so comfortable and super warm. I wear them everyday under my jeans, or as tights under a dress. They are even great for sleeping in on really cold nights! I would recommend these to absolutely everybody who wants to be warm throughout the winter months!

Bought these to add a warm layer for whale watching in Puget Sound. These fit the bill! Lightweight under other pants but kept me toasty (and I'm usually freezing). I generally take an XS but didn't want them to be tight-waisted so I got a small -- which is fine but I could have gone with my usual XS and they'd still be comfy. Like the purple color, too.
