I needed these shoes for a new job and looked at some other brands and they just did not feel good but found that new balance had a non slip shoe and they are very comfortable and very water resistant. Regular width was narrow so I had to get the wide.

Shoe felt "right" straight out of the box. The 2E width fit my 10.5, E feet very comfortably. Used mostly for walking for two weeks now, and my feet are loving the MW512! No breaking in necessary.

I used to wear the 631, the similar non-slip shoe that NB no longer makes. Since I was forced to now buy this shoe, I obediently forked over my hard-earned money having some trust in the New Balance brand, due to the fact that I have been impressed with about 4 other styles of NB sneakers. I noticed the tight fit right away, my right foot is bigger than my left by a few millimeters, so when that shoe is tight, I know the size is off. I like EE width to give room for my toes to spread out a little, the width is snug with this shoe, unlike other NB EE sneakers I have owned. The sole is not as soft or as flexible as the 631, and it seems like they have really cut corners to save on materials without lowering the price, for instance there is now a "dent" where the sole does not contact the ground (ironically there are still non-slip tread inside this dent) - the 631 had a flat sole and an extended heel which had much more surface area in contact with the ground, which seems safer to me than this new design. Additionally, I had to supplement the inadequate thin foam insert that comes standard, with Dr. Scholls gel. Finally, the design is unsightly, the shape and profile of the shoe are unappealing and make me feel like a dork when I wear them. I hate these shoes, and really don't know what other choice there is - I guess I can go to Sears and get their ugly non-slip cheap shoes for crews, because what's the difference anymore?

This has been a great shoe for me to wear to work. However, I won't claim it's especially stylish. They're very comfortable now, but the first day I wore them, I got a huge blister on my Achilles heel on one foot; the back of the shoe, as it's made, is a bit too stiff or too narrow or something, but I've been able to break it in. (This is despite the rest of the shoe being a perfect width.) At any rate, now that they're broken in, they're extremely comfortable and supportive.

These felt smaller than any other athletic/walking shoe I have ever worn of the same size. Recommend ordering a 1/2 size larger than expected.

Not a good shoe if you are on your feet all day! They run hot too, little to no ventilation through the vinyl.

I have a very wide foot, really need 6E but it is almost impossible to find. Finally found this New Balance 4E and it fit better than anything else I had been able to find. Overall the shoe is comfortable and works well on wet floors. Thanks Zappos.

For me, these are great shoes! I wear them every day. I have Plantar fasciitis and they really help. And they are light weitht too.

I enjoyed the shoes there very comfortable I work on my feet and I unload a trailer twice a week and I go to stores that are very slippery and I have not slipped yet I'm happy with this shoe I would recommend this to anyone.

Sharp looking and very comfortable. The design is very compatible for wide feet like mine. Wear them with slacks for a formal dinner or jeans out in the vineyards. They are a little warm, but the natural materials do not start to stink like others I have tried. The treads work well on dirt or street, and do not pick up pebbles or dirt clods. Well worth the money.
