Good shoe, very comfortable. I use for working out indoors only and have been using for about two months. I also use for general walking around. I have a sensitive back and feet that get sore pretty easily in the wrong shoe and this shoe has really helped with both back and foot support. I like very much and would recommend. I knocked off a star on style because of the angled shoelaces. Strikes me as someone trying to come up with something different just for the sake of being different.

Have worn Kayanos for 15 years. Everyone as good or better than the last. Except the VI version. They sucked. These are great shoes.

Great shoe. I've used many older versions and all have been great. I generally put about 400 miles on a pair and they hold up very well.

When you put these on you become one with your shoe... seriously! They are firm, with sufficient cushioning, and good support. I wear them with a sport insole - perfection!

I had originally intended on buying a pair of GEL-Kinsei's, but after some research had learned that Asics had discontinued the line because of negative reviews. I myself was happy with the shoe. I had recently started another workout routine and needed a new pair and many of the recommendations were for the Kayano. My old shoes were a little older then they should be for a run, so my legs were taking the brunt of the impacts. The change to the Kayano mitigated most of this (the remaining would be my running style). I am happy with this shoe and would recommend it to others. There are many technical reasons why this is a good shoe for me, but I do not have the knowledge to explain it (running style, foot/arch shape, weight, etc) so I hope other reviews help more for this information.

Bought these for my teenage son who has flat feet to wear every day. The arch support in these shoes is fantastic. It really helped him with the tendonitis pain he had been experiencing in both feet before wearing these shoes. Strongly suggest for anyone needing a good arch support running shoe.

I've been running in Asics for 5 years, and these took a little longer to break in for some reason. Now that they're broken in, though, they're just as good as every other pair of Asics I've had.

I've had my Kayano's for about five months. I had taken about six weeks off from daily running before I got them, and being a somewhat heavy runner, I had to get over some initial discomfort getting going again. At first the shoe was too rigid and the motion control was extreme. I put some inserts in them to soften them up, and to add more arch support to fix the shin splints which got pretty bad. This was due mostly to the time off, but the hardness of the shoe wasn't helping anything. The inserts worked well and got me through the initial phase of getting my lower legs re-adjusted. After about six weeks I took the inserts out and I have been running on them as intended for about a month. They have become much more flexible and much softer than they were in the first month. The arch support I find to be sufficient and the motion control apparatus, once broken in, has become a pretty nice ride. It's a very precise shoe in terms of motion control, but once i softened them up a bit, that precision has proven to be a desirable feature. Definitely recommend for those needing a good arch support shoe. But be prepared for them the be stiff at the beginning.

The Asics Gel-Kayano 16 is an excellent shoe for the runner who wants premium support and cushioning while logging in the miles. As an everyday shoe, it's stylish and comfortable. The sizing is true to length and width. The toe box of the shoes has lots of great ventilation for your feet to breathe and let off excessive steam and heat.

Have been wearing Kayanos from Zappos for years - love them. Since the "old" model (which used to be the latest and greatest) is discounted when the new latest and greatest is released, it's an opportunity to get a great running shoe for less. Love them.

I run 25-30 miles weekly, and my main concern is to avoid injury. This is my second pair of Kayanos (I just retired a pair of Mizuno Alchemy before buying these). These shoes are just great. They are comfortable and good-looking, and I was able to put my normal mileage on them out of the box. One thing I did have a minor issue with was the new lacing design, which gave me a bit of a sore instep initially, although not enough to stop me from doing anything. A minor complaint I do have is the mesh top, which breathes wonderfully but looks fragile. On my previous pair I wore holes through the top after several months, and I am anticipating the same result with these. In the future, I'm sure I'll stay with this shoe without looking elsewhere. Don't mess with something that works.

I have been running in Asics shoes for a couple of years. I used to run in the Nimbus, but decided to switch to the Kayano, and I am very happy that I did. The feel and support of these shoes is amazing.
