I just got these shoes only moments ago and I couldn’t be happier! I have the Tan color and to me they look a little more neutral than the online photos (a little less buttery yellow) - a true tan color. I was actually hoping this would be the case, as I already have yellow flats and needed a good neutral. They do look slightly weathered as the photos indicate - it gives them a romantic character. These are high quality and well-made. Every stitch is perfect; every seam flawless. The leather is thick for a ballet flat, but is supple enough to be comfortable against bare skin. I consider my feet a little on the wide side, but my normal size (8.5) fits perfectly. After walking around my house a little I can tell they won’t take very long to break in - there may be a little rubbing on the back of my heal on my right foot, but that is because my right foot is nearly a half size smaller than my left. A preemptive bandaid will prevent any blister. These really are fantastic and I just wish I had found them sooner! I’m just sick that they don’t have the bordeaux in my size anymore! On a side note - I ordered these lovely flats yesterday morning and received them the next day. Gotta love Zappos customer service!

I agree with all of the other reviewers who love this shoe. I have the bordeaux color, and I really like that the dye isn't completely even. I think it adds depth and character. I also have the Frye Molly flats with the ruching around the edge, and these (the piping trim flats) took less breaking in and are more comfortable. I'm so glad I took the plunge and ordered these despite the steep price. I only wish I could have gotten the black, too. Like many Frye flats, they seem to run a tad narrow, so if you're between sizes, I'd recommend trying the larger size. I'm between an 8.5 and a 9, and I took the 9 to get the extra width.

Love these! The burgundy color is a really nice purple, and even though some reviewers said it was an uneven leather color, I really like these. They fit really well and are really comfy!

Oh, I couldn't agree more with "Santa Monica girl". These are my favorite shoes I have ever purchased! I own several pairs of Frye and these are by far the best! Comfortable, chic, etc. I bought the tan and am considering buying another pair of tan just to have in case they discontinue the style! I am about to buy the black. Love 'em!

These are my new favorite flats. They fit true to size, are very comfortable and the detailing is superb. I have a few Frye boots, never had shoes before and the craftsmanship is up to standard. The leather is soft, but the shoe is very structured. Over time I imagine they will have a nice distressed leather appearance. I happen to be wearing them now and I do say I love them!

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

Okay. These shoes are perfect. I first bought the tan color, fell in love. Then I bought the black color, wearing now. Pretty much, you could take all the other shoes in my closet (100 pairs or so) and leave me with just these and I would be happy. I'm gonna get the wine color. Very soon. So effing comfortable, perfect fit, flattering, not too dressy yet refined. I can tell me and this style are going to be best friends for a long time.

Very cute shoe, but the quality is not up to the Frye brand name. This flat is not made of the strong leather typically in Frye shoes. It felt much less structured and unlikely to hold up for very long. This is not worth the money I paid for it. Returned.
