I'm the reviewer who exchanged the Black Flake for the black and am so pleased. The boot is a little softer and a little less tight on my instep. The toe points up just a little (nice attitude!), but the foot has enough bend that it doesn't make you walk funny like some other brands can. The heel is a great height and it's a nice sturdy shoe to walk around in. I've had them on since they arrived about 3 hours ago. They've loosened up and feel great. There is nice arch support (I have pretty high arches and tend to pronate). The stitching and style details are subtle, well-done, and expensive looking. Very pleased.

Great shoes, attractive and very comfortable. I wear a size 9.5 medium width in all of my shoes and boots except for this one, where a 8.5 fit correctly instead. Switching sizes at Zappos was easy, but I find it surprising that reviews say these fit to size since they were a whole size off for me.

I love these boots; they are as cool as I thought that they would be! The only problem is, I ordered an 8 1/2 which is what I usually order anymore for most of my shoes, especially my sport shoes. I should have ordered an 8. They have already stretched a bit as well (such nice leather) so I had to go buy inserts so that they fit properly and wear thicker socks! It is my fault that I didn't send them back and get the smaller size. Oh well, I made it work!

Excellent cowboy style boots. Where has this been all my life? I've been looking a long time for a boot that has the cowboy style pointy toe, but that didn't need to be worn over my jeans. This is perfect. Very sturdy and good quality. That this comes in a distressed-looking black version (black flake) was an added bonus. It also has a bit of built in arch support in the sole that makes them super comfortable. I ordered my normal size, and there is a teensy bit of wiggle room. Since I don't plan on wearing socks with these, this will not be a problem for me, but others desiring a snug fit may want to order half size down, as other comments have suggested.

Durango's touch of the West - I ordered the saddle brown which I think is a rich looking color that gives it class with a western flare! They were hard to get into at first, so I just kept walking around the house in them. Each time you wear them you will stretch them out a little bit more, but they will 'break' in and I think they are worth it! And they last. I really like the Durango 'shoe boot' line as they are easy to get on and off. Thanks Durango and Zappos for making it happen.

These are good looking and they fit well. The heel is very nice height. I am trying to decide whether to keep the shoe/boot. The only drawback is I was absolutely spoiled by the most beautiful pair of Pikolinos shoe/boots that are about 1.5 inches shorter in the instep and .5 inches lower on the achilles tendon, thus they look and feel more like shoes, easier to get into, not rubbing on achilles, etc. Would love to see this type product by Ariat, Dingo, Durango or, of course, Pikolono.

Beautifully styled shoe. I have narrow feet and had to go down a half size. I wear them with thick socks and the length is fine, but the heel is too big. A heel lift fixed this problem for me. Absolutely gorgeous tooled leather. Has a bit of western style without being too "cowboy boot" looking.

Black Flake Shoe Boot - The boot is adorable. I wear and 8.5/9 with a narrow foot and so, for this cut, got the 8.5. A little snug in the toe, but figure it will stretch a bit. The boot shape is really cute, the stitching is good quality, and I love the little bit of attitude with the slightly turned up toe. A great look for jeans, but in the black fleck, only dark jeans or black jeans. These do not look very good with a lighter colored blue jean. The boot has a bit of shine to it that I wasn't expecting with the sort of distressed fleck look. It doesn't look old, but it's still really nice. Personally, I'm wanting a more versatile color so I'm going to try the black instead. Also, the left boot has a painful lump at the back of the heel that digs in a bit. Would be exchanging to a non-defective shoe if keeping these. The right boot was very comfy though!

Love these shoes! They are stylish, yet still very comfortable. However, beware: it took me 3 tries to get the correct size. Thank you Zappos for being so "patient", even nice, through the process. I usually wear a size 8 and ended up getting a size 7 (I like to wear thinner socks). I have only worn the shoes a few times, but after a long shopping trip and some slight pain, I think they are ready to go. They are a tad narrow through the top of the foot and yet the ankle area on the top of the shoe is slightly wider. If you have wide feet, I would not recommend these shoes for you. If you are looking for a stylish western bootie, you will love these!

I order quite a lot of things online and I have to say that ordering from Zappos was the best experience that I've ever had. I ordered 2 different sizes of the same boot since the reviews that I had seen made me question what I should order. I wear an 8 or 8 1/2 in all shoes so I ordered one pair of both. I have a high instep so the 8 fit great, but if not for the instep a 7 1/2 would have been my size. This order was placed during the holidays and I had the boots the next day. I printed the return receipt from the website and the UPS driver picked them up the next afternoon. I can't say enough good things about my experience and will order more from Zappos and tell all my friends. The boots are really great too, fit and feel great and are excellent quality.
