Just got the bag & I am loving it! It can fit everything I need for school and more! Also fits my 15.4" laptop where it is supposed to go which is a huge plus! I would recommend to others! Thanks!

This bag is huge. I am 6' 2'' 230lbs and it even looks big on my side! Not quite suited for lugging to and from business meetings, but would probably be great for school, on the bike road trips, etc!

We searched all over for just that bag - you know? That bag! Well, this is as close as it gets, and that's pretty close. Big. Comfortable. Cool. The clincher is the waist strap that has two different configurations for holding the Dakine Messenger Bag in place when the wearer goes bumping along down the road on his/her bike - that's what we're supposed to do with a messenger bag, after all!

It fits my humongous 17.3 inch laptop, so that was the biggest plus. With that said, the bag is huge. I can throw in my laptop, along with all my school books and still have plenty of room for more. My biggest issue is the closing mechanism (the plastic buckle straps that can pitch your finger if you're not careful and take some force clicking in). Would have preferred those metal button closures, but otherwise a good purchase.

This is a very roomy bag and large, too. Even with a pretty big laptop, it looked too empty unless I put a lot of things in there. I have a small frame so it just was too big for me to use every day. If I could, I’d have kept it as an airplane carry-on bag because it really can store a lot. But for an everyday work briefcase, it was too big and too unstructured for me.

About Dakine
DaKine moved their manufacturing and operations to Hood River, OR in 1986; besides being a popular windsurfing location on the mainland, it´s also a gathering place for the best professional snowboarders looking to ride on Mt. Hood. In 1989, after proving themselves as leaders in surf accessories, gear, and bags, DaKine committed to the rapidly expanding snowboard market with board accessories, board bags, and gear bags. By using their commitment to unique designs, high quality, and the desire to stay true to the spirit of the sport, the company would become the world leader in this market over the next 15 years.
Throughout the 1990s, DaKine moved into the snowsports glove category with a modest three styles, and has now expanded that line to close to 70 models today. In 1996, DaKine introduced the Heli Pack, which helped create the new category of minimalist technical backcountry day packs. In 1998, DaKine sought to surpass the Heli Pack and introduced the Heli Pro. In a short time, the Heli Pro becomes the standard for technical daypacks as well as the sport's best selling (and most copied) model. Also around this time, DaKine moved into skate specific packs, such as the Park Pack, which quickly became known for its innovation and durability.
A true leader in the world of bags, packs, and accessories, DaKine has also built a reputation in the travel category, whether it is board sport specific carriers or luggage. After celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2004, DaKine continues to pride itself on developing products for the top professionals in every board sport and building its reputation for innovation and quality for over a quarter of a century.

First and foremost, I have to say that Zappos shipping is absolutely wonderful: fast, convenient, and reliable. I love this website. This bag is very true to description, with a great pattern that is actually more subtle and detailed then the pictures. The strap is a little long if you like your bag to be close fitting, but it's of good quality all around. The laptop sleeve could stand to be more padded. All in all, very pleased with this bag. I would recommend it to friends.

So awesome! I got this to carry all of my huge school books in and still have room for additional items. I read that everyone thought it was too big, so I figured it would be perfect for me, and I was right! Tons of compartments for everything and never need to squeeze anything in, everything fits beautifully. I love this bag so much!

I got this bag as a gift for my husband, he was just starting to take the train to work & needed to take a lot with him. Many of the other reviews found it too big, but he loves it. Not only does it fit his laptop, iPod, cords etc, but his lunch, an umbrella and anything else he could need. The fabric if fun yet professional and the straps are expandable, there's even a waist strap if your riding your bike to work!

Great bag! I love the herringbone fabric. It gives it a slightly professional look while still keeping it modern and stylish. Fits my 15 inch laptop perfectly. This is the first Dakine bag I have owned and so far I am impressed. Zappos had this delivered in less than 24 hours. Still trying to figure out how that happened!

Despite all of the reviews that said this bag was too big, I ordered it anyway, since it would fit my boyfriend's laptop and had a nice design (it was meant as a gift for him). Unfortunately, after seeing it in person, it is definitely huge. I'm 5'10" and it's way too big for me - it would probably look normal on a 6'3"-6'5" person. His 17" laptop would've fit in the laptop compartment, but that still left an enormous amount of space in main compartment. Too bad - I really wanted to like it.

I wanted a messenger bag that was big enough, but this thing is huge. It can hold everything I need it too, but it is just awkward to carry because it is so big. Nice enough looking, just too big.
