I bought the boots for my daughter's birthday and she loves them. The leather was very nice quality and the construction actually seems better than her other pair of Frye boots. I would recommend these boots to anyone considering them.

I love these boots. At first, I thought they were too tight and had to struggle to get them on an off. When I tried the right socks, they fit perfectly! I can wiggle my toes and feel them snug around my foot at the same time.

I've been wanting a pair of Frye boots for a while, but couldn't decide which style to invest in first. When I saw this beautiful grey leather, I knew these were the ones. The pebbled leather is soft and the construction is superb. They are a little tough to get on the first few times (which appears to be common with Frye and those with a high instep), but once they're on, they're perfect. They have much more cushion than I anticipated in both the ball and heel area and the toe box is roomy enough to be comfortable even with thicker socks.

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

I own several pairs of Frye boots so was amazed that I could not get my foot into this boot! They are beautiful but if you have a high arch it just won't work. Next pair will be without any sort of strap across the front.

Love these boots! I wear them with thinner socks as I have wide feet and they are perfect. This is my second pair of Frye boots and while I sometimes size up to a 7 in shoes, I am definitely a 6½ in Frye. The footbed is padded and they are very comfortable for walking/city use.

I have been waiting for a pair of Fryes for years. Now that I have splurged on these, I will never waste my money elsewhere. These puppies are gorgeous, comfy, and fit like a dream. They also fit around my gigantic calf muscle, which often makes boots a challenge for me... dang Polish genes. Anyway, these are great all day and don't make your feet feel all clammy. They also walk well and I have no problems getting them on and off now that I've broken them in (the first time, the husband had to pull off my right one.) Still. Great and perfect with anything!

This boot is soft and lustrous (the gray color is more of a grayish bronze). The first one I got was in my usual size 8½ and felt like the heel was slipping off even with thick socks. This might be normal for pull-on boots but I'm not used to it. So I exchanged them for an 8 and had comfy feet the first day even with plenty of walking. There are no rough edges or seams inside this boot and the leather is sturdy but cushy on the toes. The calf is large enough to tuck in skinny jeans/leggings easily and narrow enough to go under boot cut jeans easily.

These boots are just as described and if course no one beats Zappos awesome shipping upgrades, so I had them right away. They are very comfortable and fit my foot well. It is a bit snug first getting them on but that's what keeps them comfortable all day. They fit my foot well. I put them right on and wore them all day. No rubbing or discomfort. The color is different and I wasn't sure I would like it but it's great with brown (naturally) but also black, navy and grey. Overall a great purchase and Zappos is the place to buy them.

I love this classic style from Frye! These boots are perfect with skinny jeans with just enough room for tucking. They work well with boot cut styles and look really cute with dresses and shirts with leggings or tights. I reach for them more than I thought I would (my other boots are feeling neglected!).

These boots are awesome, and look great with jeans. They are not too "Western" or trendy, so I'm not afraid of them going out of style. They don't turn up at the toe like other cowboy style boots, so they look more professional with long pants. I don't think I would wear them with skirts as they hit the calf in an unflattering spot, but they are perfect for me to wear all winter with jeans. Comfy, right out of the box. Usually, Frye's seem to run big, so I ordered a half size down, but ended up returning those and ordering my regular size (10), as these fit true to size. They are more expensive of a shoe than I would usually buy, but I know they will last a long time, and be worth it!

I ordered my usual 8-1\/2, but unlike other reviewers, I found these to actually run small, particularly in the toe area. I returned them for a size 9, and was really pleased that they fit. A standard orthotic that gives extra arch support made them work well for me. The heel slips a little, but not enough to be a problem. I walked all over Chicago soon after getting them and there were no blisters or discomfort. These are my first Fryes, and I love the look and feel of these boots. They look and feel substantial but not heavy. They seem very well made, and I\'m hoping they\'ll last for many years.

These boots are fantastic. I got the light tan color. I\'m a bit torn on the sizing - I\'m normally a 7.5-8, closer to the 8 end lately. The 7.5 was fine with thin socks but a little snug in the toes with medium-thickness socks, so I exchanged them for an 8 (which was on my doorstep the next day...thank you Zappos!). The 8 is ever so slightly loose on my heel, but they fit perfectly with medium- to thick-weight socks (which seems more practical for boot-wearing anyway, right?). I\'m a little worried they\'ll stretch out too much with wear, but if that happens I should be able to adjust the fit with inserts. The boots are too pretty to send back regardless, so I\'ll find a way to make them work. The quality is fantastic, as expected from Frye, and they are exceptionally comfortable. I paid full price and don\'t regret it for a minute.

Fits like heaven! This is my first ever pair of Frye boots and I am quite happy with my purchase. I wore it right out of the box and it felt light and comfortable. No break-in period needed. For me, these boots provide great arch support although it may vary from person to person. Despite the price, I feel that I am getting my money's worth for years to come.

I have a few pairs of Frye's but wanted a "cuter", updated version of my old harness boots that I could wear with skirts/jeans. I tried so many brands and styles (thank you, Zappos!), but when I took these out of the box they were mine. I love the leather--the thickness, suppleness, rich color, and overall Frye quality. I really like the rounded toe and the shaft height is perfect for skirts, etc. Frye is always a good choice.
Brands I'd also recommend: just Frye\'s for boots!

Frye simply makes a beautiful boot! The leather is very soft in the Maxine. I feel they fit true to size; I have several Frye's and these are spot on. Easy to get on and comfortable. I didn't need any breaking in period.

I absolutely love these boots. I wear them everyday. They are comfortable and durable, and rain proof. I wear them when I work in a wood shop too, and I feel that my feet are safe. They are high quality, and worth the splurge. I hope they last me 10 years. It's hard to find quality made boots these days, these are the best that I have found yet.
