Review on the New Balance MT909R -
I have found this New Balance model longer than the usual 11 1/2 size I always wear, width good, good toe room and in general a very well made trail shoe. But, be concerned about your size selection. I have reordered an 11 for a better fit.

First pair of NB shoes -
This is my first pair of NB shoes. I am on my feet 8 hours a day on a concrete floor. These shoes feel wonderful. They are lightweight, yet sturdy and supportive. Rumor has it that NB wear out quicker than other brands, but I am hoping this isn't the case. If they last long enough, I will be a NB customer for life. The yellow coloring is bright, guys at work say I need to write "CAUTION" on the sides to go with the yellow striping. I don't mind it, they stand out in the crowd!

I have a wide foot and this brand fits me better than any other. This model mt 909 is a good shoe but not very cushioned. Everything else about it is very good.

Not quite the 908 -
I really liked the NB 908. This shoe is similar, and it works just fine, but it's not quite the same. It is a little bit stiffer and it does not wrap my foot up the same way the 908 did, so on big downhills my feet slide just the tiniest bit. The 908 fit my wide, asymmetrical feet like a wonderful slipper, so my standards are pretty high. It definitely fits wide feet though. Otherwise a good shoe, it definitely is taking the pounding I'm giving it and it has protected my feet from numerous horrible trail and road debris. Good room in the toe as well.
