I tried on probably 15 different types of shoes before finding these. I have very narrow feet and needed a multi-purpose shoe that would accommodate orthotics, that wasn't too heavy duty or just plain boring. I am very happy with these and wear them almost daily, to work, short hikes, etc. Would highly recommend them.

Great shoes! I use these for school, casual wear, and just about everything else. Very comfortable and supportive. I found that my orthotic insert fit in these and is not crunched at all. Water-repellent for a while. Overall, great shoes. One minor problem, though. Any mud or dirt that you get on the mesh will sink in and stay there. At first I thought it just "disappeared", but I eventually figured out what I just mentioned. They might begin to smell, so make sure you wash them every once in a while. Love these shoes!

I walk about 5 miles a day and I've been walking in Merrells for the past two years or so. I find them extremely comfortable and durable. This is probably my fifth pair? So, I'm obviously a big fan. Not all 5 were Moab Ventilators, but they were close in style and fit/feel the same pretty much. However, there is one thing that really bugs me about Merrell shoes: the laces. First of all, they are too long. I have to tie a double-knot just to keep them from dragging on the ground. When the laces do drag on the ground, the outer shell wears away and the laces become unusable even though the inner laces are fine and the shoes are still practically brand new.

Going hiking in Yellowstone and the Badlands at the end of the summer for two weeks. Purchased these to use instead of hiking boots and trail running shoes. I am working on breaking them in and have worn them for over three (3) weeks straight every day (during work, etc). They are very comfortable. I was amazed at the comfort level of the shoes. I have done some trail hiking and the grip and support is excellent.

I bought these shoes for everyday use here in Iraq where it is dusty and rocky everywhere I walk. So far, I think they are absolutely terrific! The shoes themselves breathe well, which is really important in this hot climate. The insoles are very comfortable while the Vibram soles are very tough and durable, making it so I don’t mind spending a lot of time walking over uneven ground while in these shoes. I found the fit to be slightly to the smaller side - I typically wear a 10.5 to 11 and found the 11 fits me perfectly. If your size varies, you should definitely go a half size larger.

Merrell Moab Ventilator - This shoe is extremely comfortable, and provides enough toe box height and shoe width - one of the few shoes I've tried that does so. Every time I put them on, I breath a sigh of relief - my feet feel so good in them. The vibram sole seems very sturdy, though is a bit hard under the heel when walking on pavement. Since it is listed as a trail shoe, I can't complain! Would love to see the identical shoe ALSO made with a sole with more cushion. However, please DO NOT discontinue this shoe!! I liked it so well that I purchased a second pair almost immediately, it is that comfortable.

My First Pair of Hiking Shoes - I just started hiking seriously and decided on the Merrell's as my first pair of hiking shoes. I'm not ready for boots yet and think that these shoes are perfect. I love them! They are comfortable and sturdy yet light weight.

Very comfy, great toe box - Not the prettiest shoe you'll ever see, but comfortable and has lots of toe room. I'd advise buying serious insoles, but that goes for pretty much any shoe in this price range.

Not as cool as you'd think - I went for the wide fitting but half a size down. Fit my feet very well. The shoes aren't quite as "ventilated" as I had hoped. Though better than your average hot house sneaker, I'm still looking for a trainer that I can wear with socks (without looking a nerd) and keep my feet cool all day.

Breeze across my toes. Great fit and traction. The mesh really lets your foot breath. When I was first wearing them outside I was startled as a cool breeze tickled my toes. I have worn them on a 5 mile cross country walk and my feet felt great. Little break in time. My wife said they make my size 13 foot look smaller. Wife also commented that the style looked out of the 1980s.

Great casual hiking shoe. Early impression is that they will do fine for casual hiking and "off-road" activities. For serious work maybe something with better ankle support.

Merrell Moab Ventilator - Solid, well made hiking/athletic shoe with good comfort and fit. I have slightly wide feet but the fit of this shoe was perfect.

These are nice - I did some research before settling on these for trail and daily use. They are very breathable, but this also lets in dirt. I gladly shake the dirt out of these after a hike, as I do not have to deal with extra foot funk.

Shoes fit a half size smaller than marked. I have had these for over two years and the mesh in the sides are starting to wear so I ordered a new pair of Intercepts today just for a change. I doubt anyone could wear out Vibram soles as I’ve had them on work boots as well and they last forever. I went to Disneyworld in January for eight days and wore these everyday and they were great and look good also. Merrills are not cheap, but they are worth every penny to me. I also have Merrill sandals and love them as well.

Best shoe ever! I purchased these shoes for my husband - he told me yesterday morning that they were the most comfortable he had ever had! He said that his feet felt better than they had in a long time. He is an "archery" person and does a lot of walking and up and down hill climbing. They look great, feel great, and we hope they last well.

MOAB Ventilator - Excellent warm to hot weather walking shoes. This is my second pair, and my wife is now on her first pair. These shoes have made walking much more enjoyable than earlier tries at walking shoes with big-name brands other than Merrell. We walk all year in Atlanta.

Great Shoe - I knew I liked the shoe when I saw it online. Once it arrived I was even more pleased as it was exactly like a pair I had bought about 5 years ago and had outgrown. The original is still in good shape so I imagine that its replacement will be a great shoe as well.

Tried and true - Great shoe, good price. Very stable and good cushioning inside. I have orthotics and have struggled to find casual shoes that are supportive enough to wear every day. I've tried a dozen and keep coming back to these. They seem to last about 2 years, then break down, which is pretty good.

Great Shoe - If you have a wide foot and are looking for a comfortable shoe for easy hikes and everyday wear, this is a fantastic shoe. I normally wear an EEE width and the wide version of this shoe fits great. Very comfortable and good looking shoe - and you can't beat Merrell for durability and comfort. Zappos was great as usual - ordered the shoes on a Sunday and they arrived 1day later.

Very Comfortable - After looking at several different Merrell's over a period of several months, I find the Moab Ventilator to be very comfortable. The fit is excellent. I highly recommend the shoe.
