- Heel should move up and down freely.
- A closed-back Mary Jane in Box leather featuring decorative accents.
- High quality leather upper follows the natural contours of the foot. Box leather is ideal for the workplace environments with wet, acidic or greasy conditions. It has a smooth, clean finish with the natural irregularities removed. It is the easiest leather to maintain, and can be wiped clean with soap and water.
- Instep collar is generously padded.
- Roomy Thermoplastic toe box provides durable reinforcement and toe protection while allowing toes to move comfortably.
- Nonallergenic vegetable tanned leather sockliner wrapped around synthetic foam absorbs and evaporates perspiration.
- Protective Polyethylene heel counter allows the heel to move up and down when walking. Also provides lateral stability and acts as a natural shoe horn.
- PVC inner frame provides stability and reduces torque and pronation.
- Polyurethane outsole provides shock absorption and flexibility, withstands surfaces of extreme heat and cold, and protects feet, legs and back during long hours of standing or walking.
- Rocker bottom propels the foot forward when walking.

The petrol color is more subtle than in the picture, in a good way. I love this shoe. Very very comfortable right out of the box! Needs no breaking in. I can walk/stand all day in them and never feel any pain. However, I walk through a little patch of grass with very uneven ground everyday to get to work and the little heel of the shoe makes it hard to walk. I always twist my ankle (but without hurting it), but it could be dangerous on pretty uneven terrain so beware of that. But of course they aren't made for that. And Zappos' service was of course excellent and fast.

I absolutely love this style. I ordered the red marbled patent and fell in love with the color as soon as I opened the box. They are very comfortable and needed no breaking in. I also wear the professional style and they are also comfortable. Zappos service was great and fast like always.

Love my pretty new Dansko shoes! Great for jobs that require you to be on your feet all day. I noticed I sometimes step out of my regular Dansko clog and this little buckle on the Mary Jane seems to put an end to that.

I love these shoes! They're my third pair of Danskos. I get so many compliments on the Mary Jane design, and people always ask where I got them. I ordered two other pairs of similar clogs by different manufacturers and the Danskos fit bar far the best. I did scuff the patent leather soon after I got them, but am hopeful that I'll be able to mend that.

wow, wow, wow! I love the Dansko professional clog but this Marcelle beauty has stolen my heart. So comfy, right outta the box. Love the deep rich red hue. I am a size 7-7 1/2 and I ordered the size 38. Fit like a dream!!!

I own almost 12 pairs of Dansko shoes. For a long time I hesitated to buy the red patent ones. I was so pleased when they arrived. I do no regret my decision. They are beautiful and they have quickly become my favorite shoes. I love them as they are so comfortable and hip.

I love all of my (4) Danskos! My new Marcelle's are no exception. I do have a squeaking problem with the ball of the left foot, which I've never had before and cannot explain. Squeaking notwithstanding, I love the new shoes, and so do my patients! Please buy with confidence and enjoy!

I have wanted a pair of these "Mary Janes" for a while now, but wasn't sure if I could pull off the shiny red color. But because the color is so deep and rich, they really do add a nice touch in pulling together an outfit. I get compliments on them all the time. Besides my athletic shoes for my tennis leagues, Dansko is all I will wear because of the GREAT arch support. I have several pair of their stapled clogs, all a size 40, but for some reason these ran a bit longer and wider. I think each pair of Danskos is a bit different, but I chose to keep these as I felt I could just wear a slightly thicker sock with them and be okay. ZAPPOS, as always, you are sooooo impressive when it comes to service. I find myself promoting your company whenever I can. In fact, when I get compliments on these pretty red DANSKOS, I just say, "ZAPPOS, they're great!"

If you are a Dansko fan, you will love these! No break in period needed. They look great and I can wear them from sun up to sun down without a problem. I have several pair of Dansko sandals and 2 pair of professional clogs and wanted a dressier pair of Dansko\'s to wear with dress slacks or skirts and tights. These are perfect!

Love the arch support of all Dansko. These Marcelle black patent are cute with dresses. They are a bit snug in the toe, but I think the leather will give easily.

I love my shoes, but could have probably used the next smaller size. Consider using the same guidelines they suggest for the slide on clog, but then again I have room for crazy socks this winter. Enjoy!

This is my first pair of Dansko shoes and I know it will not be my last! Due to many foot surgeries when I was an infant and a child, my left foot is a half size smaller than my right. My left foot is an 8.5 and my right is a 9. I bought the 39 and these shoes fit well on both feet! The mary jane strap made it easy for me to tighten the left shoe so my foot stays securely in place. I'm a teacher and I needed professional looking shoes that are still comfortable and these are perfect! I got the black patent leather choice and they are so chic. These will look great with pants or skirts. As always, Zappos is amazing! I ordered these yesterday and they were here today. I love Zappos!
