Beware big-footed ladies~ I am a size 11, and I was so thrilled to see such a cute boot in MY size. However, I couldn't get the damn thing over my foot! I tried SOOOOOOOO many times, because I really loved the boot (I ordered it in gray). Unfortunately, I'm going to have to return the boot, because - as it has no zipper - I couldn't make it work. Devastating!

I am very happy with these boots. They were very comfortable from day one, with only minimal break in required. I'd been wanting some cowboy boots for a while but held off because I was looking for something that wasn't too flashy and could be dressed up or down. These definitely fit the bill. I've gotten a ton of compliments on them already!

Very cute, but roomy - I must have gotten new stock on these boots, because where others say that they're tight, I think they're huge! I have a slightly wide foot (due to bunions) and I usually wear a 9 to a 9 1/2 in boots. I got the 9 in these, and they are falling off my foot! I have owned Frye boots in the past, and was always a 9 1/2- but the last 2 pairs I've tried, a 9 is too big. Go figure. But that said; these are really nice, soft leather. The color grey is a dark charcoal with lighter grey "distressing"- and is pretty beautifully done, not too over the top. I could see from the bottom view on the lovely Zappos multi-view of the shoe that they looked to be a little wider across the ball of the foot than some of the other Fryes, so I went for them. Sure enough, they are pretty wide for a medium, but I'm not complaining. However, this does seem to make them look a little "baggy" in the instep. There is also a pronounced ridge where the toe box support ends- so if that sort of thing bothers you, you may be disappointed. The only problem for me is that while the length doesn't seem crazy long, they are falling off of my foot with each step, so perhaps width in the heel and ankle is the culprit for me. I'm going to try them in an 8 1/2. I hope that does the trick. With these, I think it would be wiser to get them a tad snug rather than loose, for they seem as though they'll stretch nicely. Also, these seem a little lighter weight than most Frye boots, if that makes a difference to anyone. All in all, a pretty righteous boot, if I can solve my weird fit issues.
Brands I'd also recommend: Check out the Red Wing line- I was stunned at the quality! Gorgeous and sturdy!

Great boot! These boots feel like slippers. They are amazing. Plus they look awesome with jeans. I feel happy every time I put them on. I'm typically between an 8.5 and 9 but always order a 9 for boots. I did this with these and they fit great.

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

Finally... I was looking for a pointed toe boot with a compassionate heel and, after about 6 pairs sent back to Zappos, this pair gets to stay. Comfortable, nice looking and very wearable. Do need my husband to pull them off, but I expect that to cease once I break them in.

Must be the years I spent in Tucson, but this native NYC gal has a thing for Western boots. The rough-and-ready working kind. These fit that bill, yet look elegant in a battered, distressed way that can go from the desert to the cafes and look great the entire time. They are tough, but not clunky-looking or clunky-sounding. They're fairly comfortable out of the box, although the toe is a bit tight. I have faith that it will loosen up and get more comfortable within a few wearings, as my Frye harness boots fit very similarly when new and are now as comfortable as sneakers.

Cool but not comfy - I really liked the look of this boot in the grey. But they were just not comfortable...they rubbed my ankles even with socks on. Too bad because I really liked them. But it didn’t seem like the kind of pinching that would go away with time.

Great boots! I ordered this boot in grey and amethyst ;) Decided to keep the Amethyst boots! They are such a unique color - beautiful! They fit great... a little snug pulling them on and off for the first few wears. I could move my toes around and it fit great around the foot, too. I'm very happy ;) I know they will become more and more comfy with every wear.

Badass boots are as comfy as sneakers! Am rocking these badass boots right now, day 1 of wearing, and they are as comfy as sneakers! Leather is so soft, sole is cushioned, and the look is nothing less than badass. Looks so cute with a dress, and perfect for fall. I love them! I got them in Amethyst because the color was so unique, and they're beautiful. I normally wear a 7.5, but, after reading the reviews, got the 8 and it fits perfectly! (Thanks Zappos, again, for helping buy the right size!) High quality, and yes, a bit pricey, but so worth it. Will be wearing these for many years to come.

These boots are very hip but are not for everyone. They take a while to break in. I would recommend not becoming too attached to the original color as it changes quickly after wearing them. Mine were brown/red but the color faded after wearing them twice. But I really do love the boots! Great quality.

Love these! I am a size 8, slightly on the smaller side, and the 8 in the boots is a perfect fit. I find them easy to get on and off, and the grey color is so cool and vintage and great for all of the fall/winter colors that I would normally wear with brown or black boots. One boot rubbed my ankle slightly during the first wear, but this is normal for boots and me, and having just worn them all day for a second time, I think that I'm in the clear. All in all, a great boot to update fall outfits!

I ordered a bunch of Fryes this week hoping that a pair would work.... the Carson is VERY cute, but I didnt order the right color.... Im going to reorder it in a more neutral tone. The Billys are really cute... but they are uncomfortable in the ankles! I would love to keep them, but I know that I wont ever want to wear them if they dont feel good!!! : (

I got the Frye Billy Pull On in Grey Vintage Tumbled. These boots are great! Love at first sight! They're a perfect fit and look terrific on: they fetched compliments immediately! There's ample room for my toes, the heel doesn't rub, my arch feels supported, and the boots flexed when walking. The calf is snug-ish, which is flattering. Great look with skirts and casual dresses. Excellent fit with tights. I don't think I'm going to be able to squeeze jeans into them, though. I wore them all day today and my feet are completely happy! I've tried other boot brands and been disappointed. Frye boots are a happy discovery.

Very cool and authentic cowboy boot! Runs true to size and is pretty comfortable right out of the box. Quality is great. A little hard to pull on at first, but they seem to be loosening up. When I wear a thin and silky sock, they slide right on. The light tan color looks like you've had them for years and is very versatile. I've worn them with skinny jeans tucked in and it looked great. They would also work with boot-cut jeans over them, although the shaft may poke through the jeans a bit, but would still look good. I am looking forward to wearing them with dresses and jean shorts in the summer. I love that they are real cowboy boots. They are such a classic style; you will keep them forever, unlike some of the trendier western style boots out there! Love 'em! Incredible service from Zappos as always.

Boot is very comfortable and the leather is very soft, but does run 1/2 smaller that you usually wear. Only wish the toe was a tad more pointed and less round.
