Good shoes and made in USA - I tried Saucony and Nike brands prior to ordering this pair of New Balance shoes. The heel & soles are a bit funky, but functional. They look good, are very comfortable and reasonably priced. On top of all that the shoes are made in the USA! I am a Zappos/New Balance customer for life.

Comfort In A Sneaker - New Balance never fails in style and comfort. I did not have to break in the sneakers. They are true to size and I purchase the width EE. There is plenty of room.

Don't DO IT- This shoe has a bad foot contour and is not a shoe to run in. I read the reviews and wanted to get back to New Balance. I used the shoe for one week and bought a different pair.

Just as described - Heavier than some running shoes but well worth the extra weight considering the added cushioning. Concerned that comments about size not being true did not turn out to be the case for me. As always prompt shipping a real plus. Marathon running friend has been so impressed that he intends to order a pair for himself.

COMFY! I've never owned a pair of New Balance. I am extremely pleased with the way these feel. They are very soft when running. I weigh 200 and the shock absorbers work flawlessly. They are now my favorite shoes to just walk around in; they actually make me want to run.

Additional Brand Information

New Balance began as a Boston-based arch support company in the early 1900s, developed into a specialized manufacturer of shoes in the 1970s, and has grown to become a leading global athletic products company. Today New Balance is a family of brands including New Balance, Dunham, PF Flyers, Aravon, Warrior and Brine.

Since the days of selling arch supports to police officers and waiters, New Balance has been a brand concerned with meeting the needs of the everyday athlete. In pursuing this goal, they developed an "Endorsed By No One" philosophy, which holds that a superior product will sell itself better than any superstar athlete ever could. Part of producing New Balance shoes and athletic clothing is manufacturing it to fit all widths and sizes, because a better fit produces better performance.

To ensure the best fitting, best performing shoes and clothes, New Balance focuses on improving their technology and production methods. A big part of that is maintaining five manufacturing facilities here in the United States where they continue to produce New Balance shoes and apparel that meet the standards they've employed for 100 years. They have also remained committed to a core set of values that include integrity, teamwork and total customer satisfaction.

I needed a 1/2 smaller than expected. Shoe is extremely comfortable, especially during running.

Decent - The support for the rear of the shoe is pretty stiff. It’s like you are still feeling the ground and the shock still travels up your heel. Comfort wise, it fits great.

I wear size 10.5 in New Balance shoes and ordered the NB running shoe MR8509 in a size 10.5, which turned out to be a little too big for my feet. I should have purchased a half size smaller off the bat because they're running shoes and should be snug, but even after that they still seem like a half size too big. I started getting blisters on the top back part of my ankle, but longer socks fixed the rubbing problem. The shoe has great ventilation and ankle support. The sole of the shoe feels great. The heel base is constructed like scaffolding, and has several (12) holes in each shoe. This creates an unusual look from an up close side view, but looks normal from any other view. Overall: very pleased with the shoes, but would ordered a size smaller.
