I love these shoes. I took the reviewers' advice and ordered a 1/2 size down and it's still slightly big, but I don't find the shoe uncomfortable at all! It is a beautiful classic shoe and for me was comfortable out of the box. True, I have a narrow foot.

I wore these shoes in college and loved them. They run a little large, so had to return for a 1/2 size smaller. They are very stiff out of the box and take some breaking in, but will be very comfortable in a couple of weeks. These shoes are very good leather and last forever. I had my last pair about 5 years. So glad they're back in style.

I took the advice to order half a size smaller than I'd usually wear, and I am glad I did. They are extremely narrow and will take some time to stretch. I'm using a mans shoe-filler to help the process along with thick socks! Love these shoes. So classy and chic.

A truly classic loafer. I wore my last pair until the soles literally fell off. Like any all-leather shoe, this one is stiff and will require diligent breaking-in; but, once broken, it will fit like a glove. I've marked these 5 stars for comfort, but keep in mind I have a narrow foot. These are quite narrow - almost uncomfortably so. But, since I've been through the break-in process before, I'm confident that they'll be perfect for my foot, shortly. If you've a regular-width foot (or wider), I'd suggest going with the men's version.

Too much room - I usually wear 10 and never waiver but even the 9.5 in these were too long and wide. I used to wear bass tie shoes a lot many years ago. No way to adjust this style. I've never worn penny loafers. Pretty color.

These shoes look great, but are very uncomfortable. I don't know what is wrong with the sizing -- I usually wear a 9.5, but got a 9 based on other reviews. I had to send them back for an 8.5 because they were still too long. Here's the catch -- if you find the appropriate size, they are going to be very painful since they are too narrow (and I have a narrow foot already). If you like the shoes, here's my advice: size down and don't even try to wear them out until you've broken them in thoroughly. Otherwise they will rip your feet to pieces.

Everything about these shoes looked great, but they did not fit me like the old penny loafer. They came up too high on back of my heel. Therefore, I have never worn them. Threw out the box so couldn't return.

I have only tried these on so far because they feel like they would be excruciating to walk in. I am researching heel inserts. Hopefully, I can make them work because these loafers are ultra chic.

Many reviewers (as well as the Zappos description) shared how this shoe comes a half-size larger than normal. I, however, found this not to be the case. I am a true 6.5 and could hardly stuff my feet into the shoes! I sized up a half size to a 7. The shoes themselves look exactly like the product shot. After I break them in a little, I think they will become comfortable.

I love the look of these and got nostalgic for a pair after practically living in them in college. The look and color of the shoe is beautiful (I bought Karicole). However, I wear a size 6 99.9% of the time and after reading the reviews I bought a size 5.5. They're still too big. I'm really disappointed in how Bass is sizing these. They're absurdly off in terms of coming close to being accurate. My foot is neither wide nor narrow and these do run a little narrow. I did have breaking in issues, although not hugely so (tightness but no blisters). The biggest problem has been wearing socks thick enough to keep the shoe on my foot. I'm overall very disappointed and because I wore them out of the house, I'm stuck with them.

Either this shoe is mis-marked or it is very generous cut. This shoe is about 1 1/2 sizes too big for my size 10 foot. It fits more like a 10 mens shoe!

Watch out! Bass shoes are crazy stiff! Kind of uncomfortable. Also, I was hoping the shoe would look kind of funky/men's style/retro, but it ended up just looking dowdy.

Most uncomfortable shoe I have ever put on my feet. Almost rubbed a blister on my heel as I was walking around in the bedroom to see if they fit. Had to take them off. Beautiful looking, but so uncomfortable.

This is a super cute shoe. But, for me, the advice to order a half-size smaller really didn't work out. The shoe is simply too small, but instead of just returning it (maybe because they were sold out of my regular size?) I tried wearing them, stretching them, all to no avail. They seriously hurt my feet and I have pretty much no hope of ever being able to make them fit. A fairly expensive disappointment, unfortunately.

I was very disappointed at how narrow these shoes are. I am a true 8.5M and I could barely get this show on my foot. The length felt very short as well. The shoes look beautiful, but I am returning them.

These shoes are achingly beautiful right out of the box. I say achingly because when I tried to put the shoe on - it ached terribly. Actually, it just plain hurt. I normally wear an 8.5 and followed the recommendation to order one half size smaller. That was a mistake for me. Also, this shoe is incredibly narrow. I don’t think I have Hobbit-like feet, but the shoes were extremely narrow. If you normally wear an M (normal width), you might want to wait a few weeks until Bass releases some new styles in wider widths. I returned the beautiful Bass Wayfarers in shiny Burgundy for Sebago Plaza in Cordo. Both are handsewns, so wish me luck tomorrow when the Sebagos arrive!
