I have an extremely active 4 year old boy who likes to play in sand, mud, water, and anything else that comes to mind. His feet are very wide and this is one of the few styles available in XXW. They fit comfortably and can also hold up to the numerous washings needed in our case. They’re also nice enough to dress up when necessary.

Children’s feet grow so fast, especially at the toddler stage, that I can often get Stride Rite shoes for my son used, but nearly unworn (I think there is a lively resale market for Stride Rites!). The fact that I was willing to buy these at full price is a testament to their handsome good looks and the quality I am familiar with from Stride Rite. It does not surprise me that they would be somewhat costly new, as they are beautifully made, wear like iron, and seem to feel great on his foot. I would always recommend Stride Rite, and this particular model is as attractive and useful as the day is long. Great with jeans or more formal pants, too.

Shoes are hard to find in wide in my son's size. Of course, Zappos had them and shipped them fast. Nice neutral colors suitable for any occasion. They also hold up well. Very happy with this purchase.

Too Narrow!!!
First let me say I love Zappos service! My order was processed immediately and I received my shoes in a few days. Stride Rite shoes are one of my favorite "kid" shoes; however, the problem I have with this shoe is that it is too narrow for my grandson. He has an XW foot. Even though I ordered these shoes in XW (and that is what they are marked inside the shoe) they are too narrow for his foot. They appear slim for an XW shoe. The shoe is long enough for his size but is much too narrow. I am afraid to say I will have to return these for that reason.

The main selling point of this shoe is that you don't have to tie it and it can be put on quickly in the morning. Our second grader is just not able to quickly tie his shoes and this presents a problem when we are running late. The second grader's solution was to try and put his shoes on without untying them which didn't work well either.
The shoe is well made and passes muster because "They aren't dorky looking".

My Son Loves His Transporters -
My 5 year old loves these sneakers. He says they are very comfortable and that the "air pocket" on the heel gives him "jumping power". One of the best features for me is that they look a little dressier than a regular sneaker.

Good shoe, though expensive -
I bought this shoe for my 2.5 year old boy. Although all measurements said size 9, it ended up being too big and I exchanged it for 8.5. My son seems comfortable in them; he generally burns through shoes and although it's been a month, they still look good. (I've had different brand shoes lose their stitching within a month.) He is not picky with his shoes - in fact, he hates trying on shoes or getting new shoes - but he got used to these very quickly.

Great sneaker!
My 2 year old seems very comfortable in these. The shoes look great and can even pass for dressier shoes when needed. As I find with some other stride rite velcro shoes, the velcro does not reach all the way over on my son's shoes so some velcro is still exposed but it doesn't bother me.

Exactly what we were looking for -
My son has extra wide feet and seems to do the best with Stride Rite XW shoes. We tried another brand in 2W but it didn't feel comfortable, according to my son. These felt comfortable right away. I like them because while they can be used for sports, they don't look overly gym-ish and can be worn with slightly dressier outfits.

This is a great everyday, basic shoe. Brown color looks good with my son's school clothes. Stride Rite shoes fit my son's wide feet well.

Great sneaker for wide feet!!
My son has wide feet and has been wearing Stride Rite since he started walking. He is almost 2 and wears these every day. He loves his sneakers and they are standing up well to the beating he gives them!! My sister-in-law likes them so much she wants to buy a pair for my nephew. I recommend these for any boys that have wide feet. The color also dresses up his outfits more than a white sneaker would.

Great versatile shoe -
My son loves these and prefers them over his other shoes. This is the second year I have purchased them for him. They are a sneaker but can pass for a more formal shoe due to color (especially on the littler boys). Very durable. Hide dirt due to color, of course, so they look nice longer then other styles/colors. I highly recommend them.

My husband bought these for me for this coming winter. I absolutely love the stylish details on this boot. More than anything they have to be the most comfortable boots I've ever owned, ever! They're keeping my toesies warm and toasty for sure. Can't go wrong. So far, I've only worn them with jeans and they look great. I don't know if they are the right boot for skirts…don't know if I like that look. But they are great with pants for sure.

These shoes have two purposes sneakers and shoes. They are great for school and dressing up because they look sleeker than normal running shoes.

My son now has these in every size from 8W-10W... they are nice looking sneakers that can be worn with sweats but are not too "athleticy". Very comfy, love the toddler tech. Fit is great.

Durable shoe!
I really like the navy blue Stride Rites. I purchased these last time my toddler needed shoes and they never even wore out, he just outgrew them. It's been several months - almost a year- since I got them last. I ordered them again and while they are a durable and nice looking pair of shoes, I just cannot seem to find a shoe that is wide enough for my 3-year-old. He will be 4 in a month. These are the widest pair of shoes that I have seen on the market anywhere for a size 10.5 double wide. I don't think there is anything wrong with the shoe, it's just that I have a problem finding shoes wide enough for my toddler. The velcro does not go all the way over and it's a double wide. I wish they made a triple wide in this shoe and then it would be perfect. The color (navy blue) and make of this shoe make it wearable as a sneaker or as a dressy shoe. I love the look of this shoe and how it holds up to such stress.
