I've been searching for a pair of these in the Black/Forest color since Salomon came out with the Ultra 2. Really didn't like the new color offers. They feel great right out of the box and don't really anticipate any break issues. Now my 4th pair of Salomon's in a year. Thanks Zappos for the prompt shipment and making this hard to find shoe available.

These are pretty awesome shoes. They have a great grip. I have put these shoes through a lot over three months and they still look great, feel comfortable, and have not worn. I am on my feel 12 hours a day for work, and have used them in rain, snow, and rocky situations. For ugly shoes, they get the job done!

I have at least five pairs of these but there was a change in last year where the shoe feels smaller at the same size. I still wear my older versions and they fit fine. The shoelace will break at some point so it is a good idea to buy an extra pair ahead of time. Otherwise the lacing system works very well. Overall these are great all around shoes and they work especially well for travel. I hope the sizing issue is worked out.

My third pair of this model. I use them for everything: running, trail-running, hiking, walking around. Just a great all-around performer. That green, though... it's green, Man. It's really green.

A lot of things about these shoes have already been said and are true. They are definitely a half size bigger than your normal shoe, and this is probably due to how much room the front quarter of your foot is given. The laces can be uncomfortable if they are done up super tight and you are just sitting around, but what is the point of that? Once you get walking you don't even notice it. With all that being said, they are very comfortable and waterproof--a very well built shoe for those who need support in a world that is crazy for barefoot running.

Another masterpiece by the Salomon. Great fit, arch support, and of course the legendary durability. I've had these for over a year now and will either be purchasing the same or trying their similar boot option.

If you do not like these shoes you should be committed to a state institution. Do you feel me? I have three pair, I wear them like house shoes.

Allow me to say, first of all, that I wear thong sandals 80% of the time. The exception is when riding my bike or going to something requiring shoes. So it's hard to find a good comfortable closed toe shoe. This was the 3rd type of xcross training/hiking shoe. I found this shoe to work very well. Hiked Rainier in the end of June. Trails were wet and hard pack snow. Excellent traction and footing. Going up and down the trails the shoes are great! I will admit I used some moleskin at times, but I chalked that up to always wearing sandals. This my first ever pair of Saloman but not my last. Try 'em.

Awesome shoe! I was a little hesitant regarding the color of these but they look great. I bought before a vacation that involved a lot of walking, my feet did not hurt the entire trip.

These keep my Plantar fascitis under control allowing me to take my daily 4 mile walk with no worries. Stylistically I am conservative and I wish they were dark leather, oh well, what works works.

I have a pair of the red mesh and love them so I decided to get the Gore-Tex. Nice shoes but not as wide as the others. Haven't stretched out as well. Still really like them though.

Ordered these for my boyfriend - he loves them and wants to wear them everywhere. He has a high arch and he says that these gave him excellent support. We just tested them out on a three mile hike a few days ago and he said they were the best hiking shoes he has ever had. The toe guard and mud guards definitely come in handy! Excellent, durable, rugged construction - I expect these to last him a long time!

I love these shoes and get a new pair every year. What's not to love? The speed lacing system works very well and doesn't expose anything to get caught on. They're waterproof and have excellent traction for most every use case. They fit well and look great. I can't think of another kind of shoe that provides more all around utility than these. At work, in the shop, on the trail or at the grocery store these are a total win. There is also a lighter trail specific version called the speed cross that has more aggressive tread for trails and trail running, also a win. Buy both!
