These are my all time favorite boots. They fit perfectly, slip on and off easily without using the zipper, are comfortable all day long and look fantastic with a longer skirt. I am recommending them 100%.

Great looking, well made - I got dark brown and they are so dark that they can go either way, i.e., look black or brown. They are comfortable except that the forefoot seems a bit narrow to me even though I bought half a size up to accommodate thick socks and I have narrow feet but they seem to have stretched a bit. They look like they're going to last forever.

Love These - I wanted the Frye Engineer boots, but couldn't get my foot in them without a zipper. So I got these instead and I love them. They took about a week to break in, but now they're great. Looks good with skirts or pants, comfortable and I know they will last forever. The maple color is beautiful and goes with everything. Pricey, but if you only buy boots every now and then, these are great.

Shoe is beautiful, well made, color is really nice but it felt so small, I couldn't get my foot in past the heel. I am so sad. But I'm going to try and get a size larger and hopefully it will fit. *I am a size 6 and I ordered a 6...and it was shipped overnight for free!!

I love the boots, they are great looking. Cons (very small): After a few hours walking they do become less comfortable. This has improved though as I wear them more. The zipper is a bit stiff, would probably loosen with use. They pull on/off easily without zipping.

Additional Brand Information

The Frye Company was founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a shoemaker from England. Frye is the oldest continuously operating shoe company in the United States. Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers for both sides of America’s Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-America war, and for Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. Many New England families during the mid and late 1800’s wore Frye boots as they pioneered across the country to the West.

Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.

In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.

The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

Great for people with wide calves - I have wide calves, but narrow feet. The boots were tight around my calves, but have been loosening up. The shoes themselves are very comfortable. There is a lot of support and cushioning. I bought the maple color so I could wear the boots with black and brown. They look good with skirts. I think if you have thin calves, these boots would not be a good choice. My friend does and she had to return them, but for me, they are perfect.

I got these as a gift for my 17 month old and I love them. They are SO soft on the inside and keep my girl's feet toasty and warm. I have been wearing Uggs for years and love that my tot has the same comfort. Be forewarned, these run VERY large. My daughter is a size 4 1/2, but wears a 5 in many shoes. She fits in the small (2-3) with half an inch left in the toe. My recommendation would be to size down, so children regularly size 4-5, get the small, 6-7 get the medium, and 8-9 get the large. They say these can be for infants, but honestly I wouldn't get these for a child whose shoe size is less than 4. That said, I think these are wonderful and will definitely buy again in the future!

Great Boot - I've been contemplating on this purchase for quite some time. But, once I received my new boots, it was love at first sight. The quality of these boots is unsurpassed. The look is timeless, not too western; more of a motorcycle boot. The boot is true to size, yet my only complaint is that the heel of the boot is rather loose. I could feel my heel slipping in them, in which I was concerned that I would get a blister. I bought some heel inserts and that seemed to help a bit.

Ouch. These boots look very beautiful in the box, but under straight-legged pants the ankles bag out and look really funny. Plus, they hurt. I've worn them all around town (too late to return them!) and they STILL hurt. The toe part is very narrow, the calves are very baggy, and I don't think they are worth the exorbitant price...

Comfort and style! This boot not only is soooo good-looking on, but it is incredibly comfortable. I was surprised, thinking it would need some breaking-in time. Not at all. I wore this boot the first time all day, without one ache. I got them in the maple color...so cool. I have bigger calves, and this boot was at first a tad snug in the shaft. But, after awhile, it just stretched enough. Now I have plenty of room. This is a fabulous-looking boot!

The perfect boot - I'm in love with these boots. The overall look is very sharp and not too cowboy. I like the way the heel doesn't taper in and the toe isn't too pointy so they have a very classic feel. Also, the shaft of the boot is only 12 inches so you don't feel as if you're going off to war in them. They are just cozy (vs the “booties” with the boot look that are really a shoe). The leather is soft, but thick. These boots will last. I have a wider foot and the width feels very comfortable to me. I didn't feel a pinch or a rub anywhere and there is room to wear any kind of sock. A beautiful boot. I love this boot.

Love them - They are very comfortable. The leather is soft, and the foot bed is cushy and roomy. I would say they fit pretty close to size, maybe right a tad big. But leaves room for socks in the winter.

Zappos is awesome! I received these boots today after agonizing over what boots to order. Unfortunately, these were quite narrow in the fore foot, but sloppy in the heel. They also bagged around the ankle. Since I'm on my feet all day at work, it's very important for me to have comfortable shoes, so these are going back. Zappos was wonderful about the return process. I'm really happy with their service, and will definitely shop with them again.

So happy with these boots!! I ordered the Harness and this one (Heath) unsure of which one for my first BIG Frye boot purchase. This is after trying several others around the $160 price range. HUGE difference from the first opening of the box. Gorgeous leather and quality! The maple color is beautiful. I kept this one since it gave a bit more of a hug and slouch look for skirts (I don't have large calves). After debating size to order from reviews-I went with my usual size 9 and they are like a glove. I am looking to order the campus in banana too now that I know how wonderful the Frye boots are!!!
