NICE! I read the reviews and decided to go ahead and order the 8.5, even though I’m a solid 9... I have really narrow feet, so I thought it was a match made in heaven. Not quite. Fit great, looks great, feels great, the problem: getting the boot on! I have a high instep so the first couple of times (on and off) were a pain. Have we never heard of a zipper or even handles? But I love these boots sooo much I decided an extra minute or two won't hurt. After several wears, I still have some trouble with the right boot, but it seems to get easier, but I still won’t wear them to visit anywhere I’m required to take off my shoes.

Fryes? Are you sure? I own several pair of Frye's boots and shoes, love them. An 8 1/2 has consistently been the right fit. The 8 1/2 in these felt like a 9N, long in the toe with a tighter width which would have been fine except that after three wearings they had stretched so much that they now feel like 9 1/2 wide...even with two pairs of socks they fall off. Because of the great history I've had with Frye's, I wonder if they farmed this boot out to another manufacturer or tried a new technique of some sort. This is not Frye's quality, back they go! Oh, the boot color is also not described correctly, the grey are hombre with the toes being darkest. Am going to order the "Fiona" as a replacement.

Cute Boot - This is great looking boot. However, it runs a bit narrow, not for wide feet. The boot was hard to pull on the first 5-6 times until the leather stretched out a little. A side-zip would have been beneficial.

Well, I have worn these boots about 4-5 times and the right boot cuts weird on top of my foot so the top of my foot hurts when I wear these boots. The left boot fits perfectly so I'm hoping the right boot will eventually stop hurting my foot. Also, the bottom of these boots are really slippery... not good for wet weather.

This is a very cute boot and right on trend. I'm pretty short at 5'1" so I got them in black because the short boot can make the legs look a little stumpy. On someone a bit taller they would be even greater.

Additional Brand Information

The Frye Company was founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a shoemaker from England. Frye is the oldest continuously operating shoe company in the United States. Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers for both sides of America’s Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-America war, and for Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. Many New England families during the mid and late 1800’s wore Frye boots as they pioneered across the country to the West.

Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.

In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.

The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

These are wonderful boots. The leather is really soft. I usually wear a size 8 in Frye boots, but I had to return them for a size 7.5, which fit perfect. The boots feel a little narrow, but after wearing them for a couple hours, the leather molds around your foot and feels really comfortable. I absolutely love them and wear them all the time.

Very lovely boot - I love these boots. They are made of a beautiful leather. They are a bit narrow for my wide-ish feet, but as they get broken in, they become more comfortable. Arch support not great.
