A comfortable shoe to run with at the gym, or just for the day to day around the house. I bought these to replace a pair of North Face shoes I'd been consistently wearing for almost a year that had developed a squeak from a rip in the sole. Very pleased with these thus far. The vented sides make them nice and breathable, which cuts down on excess foot heat & sweat. The soles are also very cushy and support my need for an arch fairly well. The tread is fairly grippy and I don't anticipate any problems with the coming snows; though the heels do tend to collect all the mud you step in making them tough to clean out. Otherwise, fantastic shoe! So far, my experience with North Face has been wonderful and I anticipate them keeping me as a customer for some time.

I could never run because I have flat feet and get severe shine splits. A friend of mine told me to get a pair of motion control shoes. I could not find them here where I live so I went on line. (I normally buy my running shoes for around 19.99 at Wal Mart). My friend told me Zappos was a good place.I placed my first online order ever. My shoes arrived in a couple days. It was that easy I don't think I will ever shop for shoes again. I found the shoe I needed and they feel great. I still get shin splints to some degree but not nearly as bad. These are the best running shoe I have ever had. Thank you Zappos.

Instant favorite! Slightly roomy, extremely comfortable, decent arch support, although the arch has a little "bite" to it. That's find with me, as it is easily removable and I will often use inserts anyway.

LIKE THE SHOES - I usually like a bigger shoe, but this one is an exception to the rule. Felt great right out of the box. No break-in period. I am a student that just wanted cool looking shoes to walk around in. These shoes serve the purpose. They look great and feel good, too.

Good comfortable shoe - Good shoe, exactly what I was looking for (non-leather, good support and control). I use orthotics with these, so the slightly snug fit I'm experiencing is likely from that (so I'm marking "felt true to size").

Nice shoe - not a motion control shoe - This is a great looking shoe, but not for pronators. Not sure why it is in this category. I am extremely flat footed and there is not much arch support. I find my foot twisting in with every step. Very uncomfortable after a long walk.

Comfortable, but falls apart - I recently purchased the North Face Men’s Betasso. I have worn the shoes for about a month and a half and the sole of the shoe is falling apart. There is an oval looking piece on the bottom of the shoe that is under the heel that is falling off on both shoes. I work as a backpacking guide in New Mexico so I need shoes that will hold up. These are comfortable for shorter less rugged hikes, but going over rocky terrain/long distances (15 miles+) in a day they can become uncomfortable. Most of all though, they just don't last.

Maybe for walking, not suitable at all for running, arch hurts and cause blisters. Lack of traction (small hill not aggressive terrain)... Quality is low, I had to change twice due to short tongues. TNF produce great products - this is not the case.
