These boots are sexy in an understated way. To me they look like a cross between English and Western riding boots in that they have the tall, slim shaft of an English boot, with the bottom of a fashion cowboy boot. I got these in black and the leather is slightly shiny, with a wrinkled look to the top. I normally wear a size 9, but I got these in a 9.5 and they fit perfect. My only problem with this boot is the shaft: I have fairly slim calves and these boots look oversized on my legs, even with skinny jeans tucked in. I really wish they had a zipper up the side to make them fit a bit tighter than this.

Great Boot! Great boot! This is my 3rd pair of Frye's and also the most chic - I have Campus in banana and veronica slouch in dark brown. The Sandra Boot is more dressy and versatile for city wear. It took a few days to wear-in the leather, but after wearing 3 days straight, today they are perfect. Received lots of compliments already. Ordered Frye Carmen (Black) but thought it was too stiff and the shape of the toe was too round. Not wearing the other boot anymore. Frye Sandra is pricey $$$$, but I'm very happy with the purchase. Purchased a cheaper boot last season and have been very disappointed - should have gone with the nicer boot in the first place. Ordered my natural size, 8.5, which is too tight for heavy socks, comfortable with light-medium-weight socks. I have trim calves and my jeans barely fit inside the boot for the first day but loosened up by the 3rd day. Awesome boots, very comfortable, all-day 2.5" cowboy heel.

LOVE these!!! I don't usually review products, but these boots deserve one. I found it half off at a department store, but wearing and owning them I can say I would have paid full price. These are worth it, they are an investment but they will last FOREVER and only get better with age. Pictures don't do it justice, the leather is like butter!

Timeless Style - These ought to last forever because they are an investment! The color (cherry) is unusual and gorgeous and that is why I wanted them so much! I had to re-order a size up, since I like to wear cushy, absorbent socks with my boots. If you plan to wear 'em with tights, get your usual size. The pull-on style also means the calves are not too flexible and mine tend to get pushed down. I am hoping the calves will soften up after wearing for a while. Frye’s are forever.

The most lush color ever!!!(Cherry) These are my 3rd pair of Frye’s and they are fantastic! I also immediately bring them to the cobbler for a half sole. Leather soles don't wear well and they are really slippery! With all the boots I've gotten from Frye, I've wondered if they were a little too big but they NEED to have slip in the heel and wiggle room in the toe area. If not, when they break in they will squish the toes and give blisters on the heel. If you've ever worn cowboy boots that is how they fit also. Go with your true size (I am a true 9.5 in a closed toe shoe) and you can't go wrong! Spend the money on these boots that will last forever!

Additional Brand Information

The Frye Company was founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a shoemaker from England. Frye is the oldest continuously operating shoe company in the United States. Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers for both sides of America’s Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-America war, and for Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. Many New England families during the mid and late 1800’s wore Frye boots as they pioneered across the country to the West.

Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.

In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.

The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.
