Great boot - runs large! I loved the style of this boot upon seeing it in Zappos Life. I am a pretty true 8.5, but occasionally order a 9... I first ordered the size 40 (supposed to fit 8.5-9) and it was way too big - everywhere. Re-ordered the size 39 (8) and the foot fits better, but is still roomier than I expected - feels more like a typical 9 to me. The calf is quite oversized, but I was able to adjust the buckle to reasonably fit. If you have larger calves or plan to wear over bulky jeans, this will be a great boot. If you have normal to thin calves, this will definitely not have a fitted look. All said, the leather is wonderful, the sole is comfortable, and the style is fabulous. I will be wearing with tights and skirts and have not seen anything else in the shoe store world that I like as well as these. I love Zappos for their huge style palette, their instant delivery, and their amazing and easy returns/exchanges.

Cute and Rieker makes your foot look smaller! These boots are a lot of fun - sporty. Nice leather and detailing. Riekers are so comfortable, my bunion joint and flat feet notwithstanding. I take them in a 39 though I am a true 8 1/2 otherwise. The calf is very generous on this boot. I think I can get it down to my size by buckling the sides all the way to the very end. That is my only reservation about keeping the boots... but I probably will. Zappos got these boots to me in less than 24 hours. Now that's what I call instant gratification. I doubt any web merchant can beat Zappos service.

Great “worn-in� feel, immediately comfy except for bump. I ordered 6 pairs of lo-heeled rubber-soled boots from Zappos at 9 pm and got them ALL the next day! (The order tracking no. was emailed to me at 3am, impressive.) This boot was the most immediately comfy boot of all 6 (with the exception of the not-as-glamorous La Canadienne boot). Leather very soft, felt worn-in (as compared to the sturdier, stiffer thicker leather of a Born boot I also got). The arch support seemed to begin too soon and I felt an abrupt little lump under the ball of my foot (it should have started an inch further back), so these will go back. I LOVE the style though and my hubby and daughter chose these as cutest of all 6 similar pairs. The bump is not too bad, but I found a better pair for comfort (the Born).

Love these boots!! I've been looking for a pair of leather boots to fit my large calves, and these fit wonderfully. The leather is soft and a rich chocolate brown (inside is black). A very cool alternative to a traditional biker boot! Love them!

Sweet looking boots - Beautiful and versatile; although sizing is a bit roomy, wide and long, slippery unless you have thick socks on.

Great boots! I bought 2 pairs of boots and only kept these. Since I bought them, I haven't worn any of my other boots. These are just too comfortable! I love the look and feel. I also have gotten a lot of complements, even from guys. The boots can accommodate large calves. Sometimes I have trouble with boots being too tight in the calf, but I have plenty of room in these. If you have really skinny calves, these will be too big.

Lea 76 - Love the soft, flexible leather. Original size too big. When I exchanged them I was sent a darker version of the same style. The first pair was a charcoal brown, the second a brown/black. Not sure why...plan to keep them.

Rieker Boots - I ordered these boots and they are wonderfully comfortable. The leather is soft and pliable. I did waterproof them with no problems. They are great if you have larger calves because they are adjustable. Great with skirts or dresses and under pants. Good traction sole for winter snow. As always, Zappos delivery was fast and accurate!

Wonderful!!! The style of a riding boot with added features of military-esq. Absolutely wonderful fit, I didn’t' even need to unzip these boots. The buckles on the outer portions allows for more of a custom fit. Overall - absolutely lovely boots for style, quality, and fit. I highly recommend these boots.

Way too big - I normally have a 10 in boots. Or in European sizes a 40-41. I knew the sizing must be off so I ordered a 41 instead of the 42 as the size 10 was marked. And still way too big. Have to send them back. But I was very impressed with the shipment, I ordered at 11:30 pm and 12 hours later, they are on my feet. Wow. Overall super soft leather very down to earth. I was looking for more chic.

The Best - I was looking for a good pair of Frye boots; however the ones I liked and wanted were $450, at this time I could not afford that much. I found these boots; checked out some of the reviews and decided to buy them. I love them, the first day I wore them was a 10 hour day; they were and remain the most comfortable boots I have. I love them, better then the Frye boots I didn't buy. The leather is like butter, the fit is a little large but good. The buckles are awesome; you can adjust them for wearing you pants inside or outside of the boots and everyone loves them. I get many compliments but I don't care because I LOVE them. Thanks.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!! This is now officially my favorite pair of shoes (and that's not an easy thing to be)! Right out of the box they were super comfy, the leather was soo soft and the style is so cute! They look great with skirts or jeans. I have pretty big, athletic calves and these are nice and roomy. I also love that they're adjustable so you can tuck your jeans in them or cinch them up a bit and wear them with tights and a skirt. One word of caution though: they run BIG. I usually wear a 9 (sometimes an 8-1/2). I ordered a 40 (8-1/2 to 9) at first and my feet swam in them. I exchanged for a 39 (size 8) and they're still a bit big but I can wear them with thick socks and not be uncomfortable. I’m almost thinking that I can sell the other 50~ pairs of shoes I have and just wear these and my black Calvin boots every day. Well, at least until summer, then it’s sandals and flip flops! I highly recommend these great, comfy, stylish boots!

Love these boots! These are the best boots I've had in years. They fit my legs, the leather is soft, they look funky, but nice enough for work. The rubber sole is really comfy. What's not to love? More color choices would have been good.

Very pleased - These really do run large as people have said. I usually wear a 9 to 9 1/2, and I ordered the 40 (US Women’s 8.5-9). They fit fine, with plenty of room for wearing warm socks. One of my calves is prone to swelling due to a medical issue, and the fact that these are adjustable is a huge plus. One pair of boots that fits both legs at once and are comfortable, too. They were just what I was looking for. I gave them 4 stars for comfort instead of 5 only because they could stand to be a little squishier. But they have plenty of room to add inserts to adjust that.

Too bad these don't come in black ...hint* hint* I was super happy when they arrived and actually fit my calves with ease. I'm a short girl with small feet, short legs with weird sized calves. Finding boots that actually are comfortable and half way stylish is a huge pain. I can't say how many times I have tried boots on in department stores, only to be disappointed that I can't zip them up. They do run a bit big. I typically wear a 5.5 and I have plenty of room in the size 36, which is fine, especially if you want added warmth from some thick knee socks. They look great with skirts and dresses, and I can tuck my jeans into them quite easily. The leather is very soft and the color is perfect dark brown. I sprayed them twice with a good water proofing spray for extra protection since the weather here is so unforgiving. I have worn these several times so far and they are super comfortable. One bit of advice: If you have fairly thin calves and want a snug fit, then these might not be for you, although you can adjust the fit with the buckles a wee bit the gusset makes them roomy regardless of how tight the buckles get.

Finally...cool boots that fit! I have been yearning for a pair of boots that fit my chunky calves but don't look like they are a) made of plastic; b) made for "old ladies" (style, not age, ladies!) And finally, I found these Rieker’s! Soft as butter, comfy for walking, great buckles...now if only, only, only they came in black. That would be boot nirvana for me.

Actual boots different from the site photo - The actual shoe looks quite different from the photo on the site. The product photo appeared to be dual tones with darker brown areas. In reality the boot is overall the same shade of dark brown and the actual leather a bit shiny, not matte and sort of felty looking as the photo. I got the smallest size (5.5-6) and it had at least 3/4 inch space but was easily remedied with an insert and thicker socks. Overall these boots are super soft & comfy and the adjustable straps are great for adjusting to different looks when wearing!
