Clarks Roar SKU #7343928(View on Zappos.com Classic)

This boot wasn't my first choice. Zappos was sold out of most of my first choices. With that said, I must have about 4 pairs of Clarks, great shoes. These boots are very comfortable, and fit true to size. I work in a very harsh environment, and haven't had them long enough to evaluate wear.

Slips in the back, rendering it unwearable - I like the look of this shoe. It seems to fit, meaning that my toe has about a quarter inch in the front. Yet while walking in it, the rear slips up and down a large amount with every step. It is absolutely impractical and I have given it to Goodwill. Very disappointed.

Sloppy Shoe… Larger look than Zappos photo. Fits larger than size. Recommend ordering one size smaller… i.e. 13 try for a 12. Sloppy looking, big-boot style on foot... certainly not dress/casual dress. Use as a warehouse looking boot. Heels make black marks on tile floors with any slight movement turn! Overall flat-footed feel... and definitely need an insert for a higher instep. Wouldn't buy again.

Comfy But Not Cozy - Overall, this is a great boot for mild temperatures. In typical Clark fashion, these boots are immediately comfortable. The boots (at least in the brown color that I purchased) have a cool worn look to them right out of the box. Nobody is going to walk up to you and say, "Oh, I see you got new boots." They’re not attention getting in a flashy way. Similar to pre-faded jeans, they just appear to be something you've been comfortable wearing for a long time. Not in a bad way, in a great way. I guess I could sum it up by saying they are probably not a boot you would "shine." One negative aspect only: The boots are not insulated, simply one layer of leather, especially in the upper, which may be a benefit in the comfort department. So either buy a half size larger and layer your socks, or just plan on wearing them in above freezing temps. Best for fall and spring if you live in a northern climate. Overall, love the boot and would gladly purchase again.

Simple, Classic, Casual Style - A Throwback - So far it appears to be a well made shoe. The brown color has a slightly antiqued finish which I like. Rugged good looks. I usually don't care for 2 and 3 lace shoes and boots, but the laces work fine.

Very good, but not great - I got these to have a pair of walking-about-town, suitable-for-work, COMFORTABLE, slip-resistant and hopefully water-and-snow resistant boots. They are most of that. Pretty light, and so far, no slipping. Not as comfortable as I'd like - leather is a bit stiff, cut is a bit low - just at the ankle. And what's with those string-like laces? The manufacturing quality is a bit less than it should be - each day, my socks have been dyed red by the excess color from the interior. But they are FAR better feeling than anything similar I've worn in the last year or so.

A comfortable mild winter shoe worth every penny - I bought these to replace my German MARC boots as they are similar boots. These Clark's were even more comfortable. In fact they are more comfortable than they look. I gave four stars for the look. They scuff easily since they have a suede/velvet-like surface texture. However, for the price you get a pair of boot that keep you warm, dry, and comfortable for an acceptable price given we are in 2009. They have better sole traction than the combat boots I wear for working (I am in the military)! I wholeheartedly recommend these boots for casual cold weather wear.

Wow! Comfy and light. I hate it when boots are heavy and uncomfortable. My first time wearing Clarks and I can't believe I went this long without ever owning a pair. These feel better than sneakers! And breathe so much better.

Great boot - would recommend - Very comfortable boot if you do a lot of standing or walking. Soft high quality leather upper. Tread is good, but would probably not last long if you do any kind of outdoor labor. This is not a work boot - it is not waterproof and not insulated. It is a casual boot that goes well with khakis or jeans. The laces that come with the boot are not very strong and slip during the day making the top of the boot feel loose. Replaced them with laces I liked better and they are great.
