A Brief Encounter - I just tried these on today and fell in love. These are much cuter and less clunky than they look in the picture, and the color is wonderful. And they feel terrific--a great sturdy walking and light hiking shoe, with lots of room in the toes and great arch. Try them!

keen targhee - This is my 3rd pair of Keen's - The fit was slightly snug right out of the box - I would have liked to have worn thicker sox, but were quite comfy with trouser sox. Still come highly recommended.

Comfy hiker - Like most Keens, it runs somewhat wide, especially in the heel. It is also a bit short. Overall I found the Targhee very comfortable despite a bit of heel slipping. I wear 9.5 and ordered this in a 10. I could use a bit more length when wearing thick socks, but it's not uncomfortable. I hiked trails in these, and they were great. I might want more support and a more secure heel for long arduous hikes, but these are great for most purposes. Very nice look, I got the blue, and am tempted to buy the brown. Keens are the greatest!

I usually love keens - their looks, fit and comfort. But....these do not have the ususal keen fit. They are quite narrow and just seemed to feel funny and tight all over. All my other keens are 10s and fit great but these seemed at least a half a size smaller. A disappointing keen shoe.

Great shoe for walking trails! I love this shoe! It has really a really good fit. The sole has good traction for trails and good movement around the ankle. I like the way the lacing system works easy off and on. It looks good too.
Brands I'd also recommend: Keen shoes are great. I have 5 pair!

Love this shoe!! This is a lot like the Taos sandal that Keen had this summer, except closed and a little more rugged. I love them, I have them in several different colors. If they made more colors, I'd buy more! I love Keen, they just make walking and wearing shoes so much more fun and comfortable.

Targhee-WHEE!! Great shoe. My 2nd pair - first pair is the Boulder sandals. Right shoe was a little snug out of the box but is fine to wear, even with a little heavier sock. A little snugger fit than the Boulder sandals. I will be back for more Keen shoes!

Fantastic hiking shoe! I love Keen shoes and this one is terrific. I did have to order a half size larger, as is sometimes the case with Keens. I ordered it in my size and had to return it, and with the usual great Zappos service they made the return process so easy and sent the replacement right out to me. The shoe is a little narrower than most Keens, but the half size larger fits perfect. They also take a little breaking in, but after a couple of long walks in them I went on some tough hikes and they were perfect--great traction, really comfortable, waterproof. I love the purple color. A truly great all-season hiking shoe.

Zappos & Keen are both the coolest... Love these shoes. I enjoy having shoes that are out of the ordinary so Keens are perfect for me. This is my second pair (bought the Newport H2s for a Hawaiian vacation and they are wonderful!) and I remain completely impressed with Keen. Very sturdy and comfy - I'm looking forward to wearing them a lot this winter! ** I did have to buy a half size larger than I'm used to. Of course, Zappos handled the return/exchange flawlessly.

I have always used Montrail Hurricane Ridge trail shoes for my hiking, and trail runs. Keen Targhee shoes are BETTER !!! Much Lighter in weight, and more waterproof and more durable !! Great on the trail runs, grass, dirt, mud, rocks, roots, wet or dry!!! Keeps my feet dry. Plenty of toe room so no toe jam on the downhills. Non-Slip on rock ledges, wet or dry!! Very durable, and laces stay tight and tied! The soles do not hold the mud or wet grass, but stay clean. The factory insole is GREAT, almost as good as Sof Sole Athletes Plus that I always replace my Montrails with. So that is a plus for the Keen Targhees, use the factory insole. GET THESE SHOES YOU WILL BE VERY HAPPY!!!

I love my Keens! I had a pair of Keen Newports and fell in love with this brand. Keens are comfortable and I love the look of them. I did find the Targhee to be a little narrow, which was perfect for me because my feet are very narrow. I will definately be ordering another pair of Keens from Zappos in the future, over all Keens have made the number one spot on my list of favorite shoes :)

Super-comfy! From on-my-feet at work to hiking in the Columbia River gorge, these shoes have been perfect for Portland climate and lifestyle! Waterproof - check (and most necesary)! Good cusioning with great arch support - check! Cool look - check! When I tried them, I kept in mind that they run small, but my normal size 7.5 felt fine, and 8 felt too big. I have found that they feel a little cramped towards the front if I don't lace them snugly, but as long as they're reasonably tightened the fit is perfect. After a month and a half, a couple of stitches started coming out on the toe end of one, so I returned them for a fresh pair, which fit as well as the originals. I do expect to keep them for years, as they're certainly not cheap - and so suggest that you buy from a retailer where it is easy to return/exchange them if anything goes wrong. Hopefully the stitching pulling out was a fluke!

Hortensia purple color is exceptionally grand, as well as the comfort. I now have several pairs of Keens and am very happy with them. Feels like a foot massage as you walk.

Keens- I love my Keens. I haven't worn the Targhee hiking yet, but so far they are quite comfortable. The sole is a bit stiff and hopefully the shoe will bend with my foot more after I've broken them in a bit more.

Comfortable! Hot! I love these shoes. They fit perfectly. Super comfortable. I bought them amidst a snow/ice storm in Massachusetts recently and they do the perfect job for walking around on icy spots. Never had any problems with blisters. I wear size 9 and my foot is kind of wide and these did great!

We love Keens!! I bought a pair of the Keen Targhees for my boyfriend and a pair for myself. I have 4 other pair of Keens that I absolutely love as well. My boyfriend is an avid outdoorsman - from sailing and mountain biking to backpacking & camping. He was looking for a good pair of hiking shoes and was impressed with the Keens that I wear when I am outdoors with him. So, seeing how much he really could use a pair of Keens, I got him a pair of the Keen Targhees for Christmas. He was immediately amazed at how comfortable they were - he commented on how durable the soles are and that he couldn't feel every rock through his shoes that he stepped on like he did with his previous shoes. He also loved the toe protection and felt that the shoes provided great support and foot protection. He put them to the test over 2 rugged backpacking trips - one of those trips he got rained on. He came home and raved about the performance of his new Keens and said that the shoes get an A+!! I love my Keen Targhees too. On our most recent hike my shoes got completely muddy. I came home and rinsed them off with the hose, they were completely dry in 15 minutes and they look like new again. They are super comfortable and give great support. I always get bruised toes from steep downhill hiking. I tested these shoes on our recent hike and for the first time my toes were not bruised and sore at the end of the hike. I recommend these shoes to everyone! I can't say enough about them! The Targhees are a little bit narrower than my other Keens. I did order both pairs one size larger than our normal sizes and they fit us both perfectly, so I would recommend going up 1 size.

Strange Shoe - This shoe is a really good looking shoe, but you need to buy a size that is half a size bigger than you normally wear. Also, it takes some getting used to having the hard part above your toe. After the first week, gets more comfy, but takes a while. My other Keens have ALWAYS been extremely comfortable and I have loved them... this one I am not so happy with....

Great winter shoe - The Targhee is waterproof and very warm, which is great for my perpetually cold feet. It's a bit stiff, but very cushy and has good arch support, so I can wear it all day standing on a concrete floor and feel comfortable. I'm not sure how this shoe will be in the summer, whether it will breathe enough or not, but I love it right now!
