These shoes are good walking shoes in original form, but I found adding aftermarket insoles greatly improved their comfort level especially regarding heel impacts. I have since installed New Balance insoles with Absorb in both the forefoot and heel. These insoles are expensive, but they are well worth the additional cost especially on longer walks over concrete sidewalks. These shoes look especially good in the brown color.

The MW926's are comfortable right out of the box. If you are a fan of New Balance, you know they are comfortable for a wider foot, and they are just what I need. I have slightly flat arches and usually use an orthotic arch support in my shoes. I have not had to with this pair. Pros: Comfort and classy. Cons: Cost.

This shoe was no longer in production by New Balance, however Zappos provided one! Their website was accurate, the correct size and color showed available, and they professionally full-filled the order. These walkers are essential in correcting improper posture and releived my back pain. Yippie for Zappos!

My husband loves the MW926. He has trouble with his heels and with these shoes he is able to wear them all day long without pain. The look is a little bulky but the comfort is great!! Highly recommend them. Zappos service is unbeatable. Ordered one day and received the shoes the following day!!!

Miracle shoe for extreme pronators! Since retiring from the military, it seems every job I get is one that keeps me on my feet all day. While getting my nursing prereqs, I worked mall security that entailed constant walking around the outside and inside of the mall. Every day was an exercise in foot pain until I found these shoes here at Zappos. Then after getting in nursing school, I worked as an aide in an ER arranged as a ring, and again I was either walking around that ring non-stop looking for things that needed doing, or pushing stretchers to the other end of the hospital and back. And now I'm a RN on the busiest unit in the hospital. Now I'll tell you when I get out of the pool, the widest part of my footprint is at the arch, no lie. If you were to plot a straight line down through my legs, you'd see the weight lies outside the footprint entirely. But after picking these shoes (and their predecessor MW925 model before them) I've had zero foot problems. The shoes lasted 6 months doing security, and a year in the hospital. I can't do without them. I can't say they're oversize or undersize, but I wear size 10 M in engineer’s boots and 10.5 D in these.

As usual, I received my order for the MW926 shoes the very next day - this is GREAT service! I have very wide feet and the MW926 size 4E is a perfect fit for me. Unlike other athletic shoes I've worn, this style offers superior support and stability along with true comfort.

A great walker - I have been wearing New Balance shoes for years because of wide feet and difficult fit. The 926 walkers are the best ever, with excellent support and stability, and room for custom orthoses. Based on past experience they should hold up to heavy use and are a great value despite the upfront cost.

Great shoe - Best decision - Used for casual use and even occasionally at work, this is the most comfortable 'sneaker' I've owned. I use to only buy cross trainers or running shoes (my last was the 1221) for such everyday use (well, mostly weekends), but since I mostly walk in them, I felt the need for a shoe more suited for the task. My feet don't get tired after many hours in this shoe and I really feel that I have better control of stride. I did feel the need to get the EE instead of my ususal D width, especially since I likm to wear very thick sport socks. Absolutely, no regrets. Highly recommended.

Really comfortable shoes - Comfort, toe room, width, styling, soft and stable, this shoe has it all. I always run in New Balance running shoes and this is the first time I tried their walking shoes and I am impressed, they are great. It's a winner with me.

Big feet - I wear a size 16EE, hard to find. This shoe is perfectly comfortable and misses all my corns and calluses.

GREAT WALKING SHOE - Best pair of walking shoes I have ever owned. Complete comfort from the first day. Slightly more than I usually pay for this type shoe but was well worth it.

Feels great - Lives up to other customer’s reviews -- NB doesn't always hit it right, but with the MW926 they did. The SL2 last is just about the only thing that fits my 4E foot well and the shoe is comfy and seems well built. I like that it comes in basic black and basic brown, unlike so many athletic shoes that are day-glo bling.

Great Pair of Shoes - My company has casual dress where I can wear jeans every day. I don't want to wear white sneakers all of the time, so I bought these shoes. I only wear New Balance, so it was a no-brainer to get these. They fit just like all of my NB shoes, but these actually felt like they have more cushioning. I like them very much and would recommend them to anyone looking for a comfortable and sturdy shoe.

WalkALot - Shoe does fine once I replace the insole. For the price of this shoe, a higher quality insole should be provided to ensure comfort for the user.

Very supportive where it counts. This is a well built shoe and exudes quality throughout. Thanks to its firm support, it can be worn all day and when you take them off your feet, you want them back on! The only caution I would give is that if you have a heel spur (plantar fasciitis), you will want to wear a heel cushion since the roll bar in this area makes the heel quite firm. I might add that the clean design of this shoe is a welcome relief for those of us who don't want a shoe that looks like something from a science-fiction film. Fit is right-on.

Purchase of NB 926 shoes - This has turned out to be an excellent purchase as the shoes are both comfortable and good looking. The full sole allows for a sturdy base in all walking conditions.

Heavy Duty comfort - MW926 has proven to be a good shoe. I'm a very heavy man and walk daily, alternating pairs of shoes day by day. I'd recommend them to any man whose needing long-lasting support.

Bad Choice - Shoes look good & fit good. Problem is that my feet hurt after wearing them for any length of time. I have only worn them twice and will not use them again. I guess I will give them to Goodwill. Jim T

Excellent - I needed extra width because I had hammer toe surgery in November of last year. I am somewhat handicapped; my left leg is one inch shorter. Due to an industrial accident I had 10 years ago, my ankle is permanently fused. I am very active and I need comfort and fit. I just got them back today; they rose up my left sneaker and put a caliper on it. So far they are very comfortable. I would recommend them to any who needs wide sneakers. THANK YOU AND HAVE A NICE DAY. LeRoy G

926 Great! I switched to the New Balance 926 a couple of years ago. This order replaced a white and black pair. The shoes are well worth the extra money. Buying them on Zappos saves money and is so easy to shop. Using PayPal makes it even easier.
