Great for small-boned feet - As a small woman with low-volume feet, I'd tried many other brands of sandals and always had problems with fit. Chaco’s are great because they adjust to fit even my feet and they are very comfortable for walking, running and hiking. They have a foot bed that is comfortable and offers plenty of arch support. The soles of the Unaweep’s are very good on wet surfaces and have a good amount of tread. I wore my last pair for three years.

Arch too high for flat feet - OK, so I ordered these hoping that I had finally found the right summer walking shoe. I walk about 4 miles a day. I have extremely flat wide feet, so I ordered the wide and couldn't wait to get them. What a disappointment after walking around in them. At first I couldn't figure out what was wrong with my feet, my ankles hurt and the top of my foot (metatarsal area) ached. After discontinuing the shoe, my feet went back to normal. The shoe has really good arch support and I think that for my flat feet, it was just too much... I'm really disappointed because I love the look and they have a very flexible sole.

I love this shoe overall. The only problem I have had is that sometimes the arches feel too high. I have never experienced this with any other shoe, and it has gotten a little better, so I will probably get used to them. The adjustability of the straps is great, and I like that I can wear them with many different things. Somewhere I saw to order a 1/2 size up if you take a 1/2 size, and I got a perfect fit doing this.

I love these sandals - I recently bought these sandals to wear at Lake Powell - water sports and some rock climbing. They were a little tough to break in at first (one or two days) but when I got to Lake Powell they performed like a dream. I was especially impressed at how well they performed on sandstone...these sandals are really exceptional, and do everything they claim to do. Worth every penny!

My new summer sandal! I've been a Teva girl for about 15 years now, but either my feet are getting wider or Tevas are getting narrower! The new ones I try on are just not comfortable. So I decided to try Chaco’s. They're a bit heavier than my old Tevas, but I really like the look. And I love the strap configuration and how easy they are to adjust. The insole isn't quite as soft and comfy as Tevas, but I'm getting used to it. And even though they're wider than my Tevas, I'm thinking of trying the Chaco wide to see if that gives me even more comfort. Overall, I love this sandal! Looks great, doesn't rub, and I like that it doesn't have a high strap across the front of the ankle the way Tevas do. (It does have a MUCH higher arch than Tevas, so I'd imagine this sandal would be pretty uncomfortable for people with low arches).

Wow - what a design - I could not believe this design - the straps actually do adjust in an infinitely flexible way. I have a bunion and this is the MOST comfortable fit of any sandal I have every worn. And the arch support is to die for! I also bought the green because they are so comfortable. And to make matters even better - this comes in widths - so I bought a wide for my wide feet and was able to get the right length (I usually have to buy a size larger and I trip on the extra length)!

Great shoe and fast shipping from Zappos - I never thought I could wear a sandal after wearing orthotics for 20 years but I can wear this sandal!! I need the arch support this sandal provides and the straps are comfortable. I am very satisfied with the shoes and would recommend buying from Zappos. They ship very fast and match prices.
Brands I'd also recommend: any Chaco

This sandal feels so good on your feet. I'm a really hard-to-fit size 11, and this feels like it was made for me. I tromped all over southern Italy in these. You feel like you're strapped in and secure, but your toes are nice and free.

These shoes are comfortable and extremely practical. They are pricy but generally worth it. I am outside all of the time, in and out of water and on variable terrain; the shoes have proven to be very trustworthy. Zappos was great about shipping them to me quickly. The only complaint I have about Chacos is that they are very expensive to re-sole and re-strap, which makes their environmental mission statement seem only applicable to those who can afford to pay nearly the same price to have them re-worked as they bought them at originally.

My feet love these shows - I am a big CHACOS fan. I used to think these sandals were just for camping and the outdoors, but my arches love the support and feel of these shoes. Two years ago, I had plantar fasciitis and have been in search of comfortable shoes ever since. Chacos have been the answer. I love the Z/1 Unaweep sandals and the REPLAY color blends well with khaki and tan slacks. I recommend them highly; my husband and sisters now all wear them! Hint: For the most comfort, you have play with the straps; don't wear them too tightly.
Brands I'd also recommend: Also own: Z/2, Hipthong(Great--very hip), Wrapsody (my house shoes)

Wow! These Chaco's are great! The Leather Teva’s I got this summer just don't compare to the comfort of these. I'm still traveling Asia, and haven't worn anything but these the whole time! If only I could have a pair a little dressier, but just as comfortable. I bought these in a 9 wide, and the fit was perfect! Thanks to another review, I made sure the straps weren't too tight on my feet. Thank you Zappos for your great service!

Chaco's z/1 Unaweep - I have 4 pairs of Chacos (2 pairs of Unaweep) I wear them ALL the time. I wore them for 7 days on a trip: during the day for a lot of walking and out at night when I dressed up. It was cold and my feet didn't even feel cold. Great with sox when it is really cold though! I have a lot of foot trouble and they are wonderful---my feet don't hurt at all when I wear them. Your service was wonderful too. Thank you for doing a fine job at Zappos.
Brands I'd also recommend: I wear Aerosoles or Skeetchers for a different shoe.

from Snowed in in Colorado!!
Very pleased from an old beach bum! After not wearing beach sandals since 1992 when I left the island I lived on to come to the mountains, I am VERY pleased with my Chaco choices. And "lo and behold" they are a creation from right here in Colorado. I have been wearing them around the house in anticipation of a three-week vacation in Hawaii and I am sure that I will enjoy them immensely!
Brands I'd also recommend: Chaco Wrapsody--I love them even more than my Z/1 Unaweeps.

Wow! I was very pleasantly surprised by these sandals. Most sandals have little or no arch support, but not these babies! The arch is very noticeable - so much so, that putting them on for the first time made me think "how does anyone wear these??" Now I know. I love them and would definitely buy again. Normally I wear a 7.5, but the 7's fit great.

Great! These are my favorite sandals. Good foot support, comfortable, flexible, look better than a sports sandal...I can't say enough good things about them. They are the only sports sandals I will wear since I first discovered them 12 years ago.
Brands I'd also recommend: Other Chacos - the newer double strap version is a bit dressier.
