Very comfortable shoe and yes - a bit smaller than usual for my size. However, being a mule, no problem. Great for the office where I can still look stylish and professional yet walk easily.

Looks better on than in the picture. Comfort ooh...Like slippers, I love, love these shoes. They are cute and did I say comfortable? I got them in the light beige color. They will go with, skirts, shorts, pants and capris. I will be buying more in another color. And I will also buy them because hard working women make these by hand. All of us women work so hard.

Love them - These shoes are super comfortable all around. Great with jeans and slacks. Perfect for the office, around the house, shopping, whatever. Just not so good when the ground is wet.

Excellent shoe - I have been looking for a comfortable shoe because I have problem feet and these shoes were perfect. They fit well, the leather is wonderfully soft and I like the look. I have been pleased with them and I like that the purchase benefits a needy person in Africa.

Socially Conscious Shoes! I bought two pairs of these from a local Clark's store. I thought it was just that the profits went to an African AIDS orphanage, and that was enough for me. When I got home and read the insert, I found that unemployed African women are trained to make the shoes! PLUS, the shoes are cute and comfortable. Wow, what a win-win-win deal!

Additional Brand Information

An ancient Chinese proverb wisely states, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” Thanks to an initiative established by Lance Clark, sixth generation of the family behind the footwear company of the same name, this proverb is being put into action by Soul of Africa to help South African villagers affected by AIDS to help themselves.

Working with communities in the informal settlements around Durban in KwaZulu Natal, where the AIDS infection is highest, Clark and a handful of leading South African business people in the footwear industry have since been sharing their shoemaking expertise to teach local villagers how to make this simple yet comfortable hand sewn product for the Soul of Africa line.

Soul of Africa shoes are made by hand using supple leather and quality materials to create footwear that is flexible, durable, and soft. Incredibly comfortable, Soul of Africa shoes are simple, sleek, and stylish as well!

For every pair of Soul of Africa shoes sold, Clarks will donate all profits to the care and support of South African children orphaned due to AIDS. Additionally, each pair sold helps to provide an ongoing livelihood for the individuals who stitch the shoes. Since 2004, Soul of Africa has raised well over $1,000,000 since its beginnings.

Easy slip on - These shoes are great for a slip on and go shoe. Not much arch support so I wouldn't wear them if you have a lot of walking to do. Soft leather, that looks nice and so far has held up. I wear between a 6.5 and 7 and the size 7 is perfect. I have thought of ordering an extra pair, in case they are ever discontinued.

Most comfortable shoe I have ever owned - These shoes are so comfortable, it doesn't feel like you are wearing shoes. They are super soft, even from day one, I hardly took them off all last summer, and have worn them all winter in the house. The only fault I found in them was that after 3 months or so, the outer edge of the sole cracked and split. Not enough that anyone would really notice, and when I tried to order another pair to replace them, they were no longer available. I am so happy to see they are back, I plan to order several more in different colors, as well as try the orange Umthowethu style. PLEASE keep them available as I will reorder again and again! And I love the fact that I am helping with a good cause as well.

Fantastically comfortable - - like being barefoot! These are great for warmer weather. With a wide toe box and flexible sole, it feels like you're not wearing any shoes at all. I'm a bit concerned about how long these soles will last, but for now I LOVE these shoes.

The most comfortable shoes I own - I love these shoes so much I've purchased three pairs in the last year. The leather is so soft; there is no "break in" period. The footbed is leather too, a feature I find uncommon at this price level. They are amazingly comfortable and even though they don't offer much arch support, I can stand in them all day without any foot or back pain. My first pair was brown and they still look as good as they did the day I got them, but since I wore them almost every day all summer without socks, they got a little smelly:) I waited so long for the black ones to become available in my size, when they finally did I ordered them along with a second pair of brown. These shoes are wonderful; everyone who loves casual flats should own at least one pair.

More like a slipper than a shoe - I bought this shoe to support the cause, so I'm fine with the fact that I can't really wear it anywhere except in the house (or down the hall in my apt. building) as a slipper. It doesn't seem sturdy enough to wear outdoors. I live in a big city, and it doesn't appear that it could withstand the rigors of street wear. Its look is extremely casual. That said, I still like it and have been wearing it often at home.

Cute comfortable year-round shoe! I wasn't sure about these shoes at first. They felt comfortable, but didn't seem to have a lot of arch support. However, they've proved to be an extremely comfortable shoe and I've gotten more compliments on them than I expected. Also, they are for a great cause. How can you resist?!

Incredibly comfortable, soft and supple. They feel like slippers, but are refined enough to wear with business casual attire. (I wear the BONE color w/ khakis.) I wear size 11 (42), and these fit perfectly--no heel hanging over the back. I wish these came in more colors and styles.

Pure Bliss - Wearing these shoes is like immersing your feet in a warm bath. The leather is the softest I have ever felt. I wear a 7 M and these fit me perfectly. I was in South Africa last year so every time I put these on I am reminded of the importance of helping people all over the world be supporting projects such as this. I plan to buy another pair soon.

Cute, soft & comfy - I was skeptical about ordering, but was impressed with the quality. These shoes felt great right out of the box and needed no breaking in. The leather is soft and rich looking. I wish they had my size in black! I would definitely buy again.

Wonderful slides for an even better cause. I have two pairs of the Khulani. I plan to buy a third soon. They are seriously the softest leather I've ever felt before. They're great to wear to work (business casual) and around town. I wouldn't suggest wearing them for long walks, as they're not intended to be cross-trainers. By "Clarks" standards, they're not very supportive...however they make up for it in craftsmanship. They're very well made shoes.

Too cute, but too small. What a disappointment! I so wanted these shoes, for their looks and to support a good cause, but they are too small. My heel hung over the back. Order a full size bigger if you want them.

Like wearing slippers - I have three pairs of these shoes and find them comfortable for my width (D). Not only do I wear them as shoes, but when I travel I don't need to take slippers--I use these shoes and save packing space.

Nice - Quality craftsmanship. Exactly what I expected. Pure comfort for a slipper. No support for active wear. I love them! The leather is so soft... when brand new there is a slight chance of slipping or twisting your ankle because the leather is smooth and slick.
