Returned Twice - Glad Zappos rocks and is good with returns. My first pair had the inside soul start to come off shortly after a month. The replacement pair had the same problem, actually worse. I love Keen, but not this shoe! I know someone else who had the same problem.

Great shoe in every way - I love Keens...period. This is my second pair (first pair was the Bronx...awesome shoe) and I wore them non-stop singe August, through a Montana winter and on many hiking trails, over the Continental Divide twice, through knee-deep snow, and across campus five days a week. They got rid of my Plantar Fasciitis (well, they at least helped) and I will never wear another casual/hiking shoe except for Keens! NOTE: The leather began separating from the rubber sole/toe guard material after only owning them for 7 months. But I did wear them nearly EVERYDAY. Sent them back and will try the Targhee II. Will see if they do the same. Otherwise, best shoe from the best shoe company on the market.

Great shoe but not breathable... This is a great fitting and looking shoe. It has a very comfortable foot bed and fit, and has held up to everything I've thrown at it. However, the waterproof membrane is not as breathable as other waterproof footwear I own. In anything but the coldest weather, I find my feet sweating a lot.

May be ugly, but they're supportive and sturdy - I'm pretty pleased with these. They definitely run small though. I usually wear a size 8.5 (US), bought these in a 9, and might even have done better by getting a 9.5. It's currently fall here in New England and these are great for the cool temps and recent damp weather. I do find that while I'm at the office my feet sometimes overheat and I'll end up removing them, so I don't think I'll be wearing them over the summer months. Overall these are the most supportive shoes I've had in a long time. I've had joint and foot problems in the past few years and after wearing these I can't believe I waited so long to find them. I'd buy them again, but probably in a larger size.

For feet that don't "breathe"- I received these quickly from Zappos, and I really liked the fit. They are very comfortable and easy to move around in, but they do not breathe at all. Yes, they are waterproof, but your feet will sweat inside, no matter what the weather is outside. I always change socks after wearing these shoes.

Excellent! These are great! My wife talked me into trying "a good pair of shoes" instead of my usual bargain pair. Let's just say, I will be shopping at Zappos from now on. The difference is amazing! We live in a rugged area and I get tired of wearing boots all the time. These are perfect! And nice to finally shop where my size shoe is available in the styles I like. Comfortable as well!!!!! Thanks Zappos!

Keen Shoes Rock - I saw these shoes in the store and I had to have them. They are everything that I wanted in a hiking shoe. These shoes are tough. I can beat them mile after mile and they just get more comfortable. Also, they have great tread that grips the trail better than most shoes. Beware...They seem to fit a half size small.

One best shoe for hiking or for your walk around the mall - It is so light, looks I think they are cool but my friends found large toe little annoying. Anyways shoe wears better than anything I had so far, particularly large toe compartment. I bought this for hiring around Appalachian range and doing great so far...had no break-in period. Good luck for your shopping and buy 1/2 size larger than your fit if you decide to go with this one.

Analyzing the Keen Targhee - This is the most comfortable and rugged shoe I have ever had. After back surgery I experienced constant pain in my feet and legs. The Keen Targhee has eliminated that problem. After wearing the first pair for a week, I ordered two more pairs and I think that says it all.

The soles actually fell off both shoes! This is my third pair of Keen shoes--love the look and the fit. But as far as this "style" is concerned, beware. They do not wear well. First the toes started to part from the shoe, then, after three weeks of modest wear (approx 3 days a week), the soles completely departed from the rest of the shoe. Choose a different style.

Great Outdoor Shoe!!! I'm a photographer, and this is the perfect everyday shoe for me. It's waterproof, so you’re not worried about sudden rains or snow. The outer sole is pretty tough and will hold up to hiking moderate trails. It’s sporty enough to look good enough with shorts, sweats, swimwear, and pants. I do a lot of travel, and these shoes along with convertible trek pants allow me to be extremely versatile. It’s also a very comfortable walking shoe. Feet don't fatigue quickly walking or standing.

I never thought I would find a shoe I preferred over New Balance, but here it is. I initially bought the Keen Targhee because I loved the purple color of the Hortensia line. I had never tried them prior to seeing them on Zappos, so after securing a women's pair in Hortensia, I was hooked. I had bought the size 11 (the largest it comes in) and even though it fit ok, with my orthotics and socks, I really felt I could use a bit more room. So I went to the men’s shoe and ordered a 10, and it fit just right. They are very supportive, look great and I get compliments on them all of the time. I now have added the men’s Smokey and men’s black. I work in a plant environment and this shoe provides ample cushioning on the cement floors. Be sure and order at least a 1/2 size larger as this shoe runs short. A great shoe with lots of personality!

Targhees - The Keens I ordered were a good fit around the heel and have plenty of support. My biggest problem with them is in the toe area. The top of the shoe tends to pinch down on the top of the toes. That's my only complaint. I did order my regular size 10 and understand that I maybe should have ordered 1/2 size bigger.

Alright, I guess - Everyone who has written a review of these shoes must have written it right after they bought the shoes. Wear them a month... go ahead. In a month, you'll see the toe starting to separate from the rubber. I thought perhaps it was a defect in the particular pair I bought, so I returned them and Keen sent me another pair. It happened within three weeks with the second pair.

Nice and wide - I really liked the look and feel of these shoes. They appeared to be well made, and were light and comfortable. Unfortunately they were too wide for my narrow feet. My feet are around a B width and I just could not crank down on the laces enough to get the shoes snug. I needed these shoes for travel and did not want to get stuck with something that was not going to provide good support. I did not want to send them back, but decided to go with the Dunham Clouds instead. I am not disappointed with them, but the speed lacing at the top can be a pain. Thanks Zappos.

Great shoe - I love Keens mostly for their comfort. I buy them plenty big and they provide support while giving me the wiggle room I need to be comfortable. These shoes are very supportive and I hit the road with them immediately--winter walking in snow, ice and wet. They do a great job. They seem like they will take a little breaking in but I can tell they will be worth it.

Most comfortable shoe ever? I have an odd foot shape for an adult male. Very short toes and a low instep - the classic oblique shape. Many shoes that fit my foot in the toe box are too wide or have too much volume; many that fit the length and width from heel to arch along the footbed are too narrow and pinch at the toes. These may be the perfect shoe for the oblique foot - the arch and under-foot support is outstanding without being too firm and fatiguing (like corks). Volume is perfect and they break in to your foot shape just right. In fact, the lacing points are such that you can wear thicker or thinner socks and still get a snug fit every time without pressure points. Quite possibly the most comfortable shoe I've ever owned ...

A decent shoe. Kind of a stiff shoe. Will take some breaking in time. I would say this shoe is more for hiking than just casual walking. It's a little tight around the toe area which is very rigid almost like that of a steel toed shoe, although this is not one. Probably could have gone a 1/2 size larger. But it isn't so tight that I feel I need to return them. I predict that they will feel just fine after about 2 or 3 months of breaking them in. The shoes look decent in person, pretty much like the pics, maybe a tad worse. The blue color is a little dull and drab, making the shoes look fairly inconspicuous. The sole of the shoe is fairly thick and a bit clunky - will take some getting use to. The sole feels indestructible and that it would last a very long time. Overall, it seems like a very durable shoe and it's pretty lightweight too. Pretty decent shoe - not the greatest - but I'm fairly happy with it.

Fantastic... just like my other KEENS! I just got received my full size larger Keen Targhee’s and they are a perfect fit. I "always" wear a size 12 but in this model I had to go to a size 13. I don't think they actually run a whole size too small, but they run no less than 1/2 size small. They are very comfortable and have solid good looks.

Another winner from Keen - Have had a couple pair of the sandals, and decided to try their winter shoe. Not as comfortable as their sandal - but probably expected since this is a true winter (waterproof) shoe. A bit stiff on the first couple of lace ups, but loosens up as expected. Only regret is that the lacing system is different than the sandals - you end up with regular long tie laces versus the cinch locking device found on the sandals. Minor gripe - otherwise very happy. Some advice about small to size, so I ordered 1/2 size bigger - could have gone with my normal size, but the 1/2 size is fine with a bit thicker sock.
