I bought these boots based on the reviews. I was particularly interested in light weight boots to replace my heavy pack boots. These are extremely light. I use them when walking my dogs in the snow and cold. If you adjust the laces right you can just slip your feet in without even bending over. I took them up to a three day ice fishing trip in northern Minnesota along with my heavy Sorels in case they weren't warm enough. Never needed the Sorels. We walked out one day because the landing was blocked. Light footwear really makes a difference when walking in snow. They also must breathe well since my feet never got overheated and sweaty. Basically during the trip foot warmth and comfort was never an issue. These are great boots. One guy ribbed me about the look-you know-not traditional. I didn't care. He's not exactly a trend setter. For me the look is great. I ordered one size up and they fit perfectly

What a boot! This boot is great! I love it, it is so warm and comfortable to wear I not only use for the snow. I also love the great customer service at Zappos! You guys are awesome! I'll keep on looking for my next purchase of shoes with you guys.

Warm & Comfortable - Living in North Eastern Wyoming hauling water to stock at below 0 temps and for the first time ever, my feet are dry and warm! As to size - my foot is a true 10 1/2 D. I ordered an 11; with a good semi-heavy wool sock, fit is as if custom made. Very comfortable out of the box, they do "breathe", nice and light and they have excellent traction on snow-pack ice. Better than boots that cost twice as much.

Nice boots for showshoeing - The boots fit well in bindings of my Crescent Moon and Atlas snowshoes. The treads did not hang up as much as my Columbia boots. The lacing system is easy to use and very welcome when it is cold. I used the boots while snowhoeing at -20 and my feet stayed warm. The boot pulls are a great idea -- they help getting the boot seated. The sizing run small on my boots. They are marked as 13 US and 48 european. 48 european is a 14+ US and they are not this size. They are about a half size under. I can only use lightweight socks with them. You notice the length when you are going downhill, I should have purchased size 14. The boots are light weight and this is a welcome feature when treking.

Great Snow Boot - This is a great boot! As with all of Salomon products, the quality and style are remarkable. The quick lace system really comes in handy for easy access getting in and out of the boot. The protective shell keeps water out and my feet very warm. I stepped in a very large puddle yesterday and my feet stayed completely dry! I have had numerous compliments on the looks of the boots. Overall, I really don't think you can find a better quality boot for the price. And what can I say about Zappos service? It's exceptional.

Antarctica tested - Great boots, but the fact is they are very much a snow boot. Great for warmth and long wear. I did a 4 hour sea ice hike the other day and did just fine in them, even with wind chill of -20. I also have to walk through muddy water to get home and the boots did not even let a drop in. We get issued old army boots (bunny boots) and they should be replaced with these. If you’re in a very cold snowy place, these boots are for you.

I bought the green/black ones for my husband. He wore them to the Santa Claus Parade where we were standing outside for over an hour. His feet stayed warm and dry, he said they were very comfortable. He received lots of compliments on them when he wore them to work. They're very easy to slip on and off with the toggle lacing system. We'll see how they hold up in our -35C temps this winter.
