I had bought the high Captivas and was very happy with them. I was going to Paris in December and rain was predicted. I didn't want to have high
boots, so I went and bought the mid Captiva. I didn't have time to "break them in." I wore them all over Paris in the rain for 4 days and they were incredibly comfortable (I did put a "
powerstep" orthotic in them and removed their footbed). I like wearing thick ski
socks in the winter and the 7.5 fit perfectly with them (I am normally a 7.5). I don't think they're the most stylish boot, but very comfortable and waterproof. I am thinking of buying another pair for when these wear out. But my son is really into European fashion and he was in Paris with me and thought they were totally fine, so maybe they are good looking. (He did not want me to wear
sneakers or
hiking boots!) I even wore them
home on the plane for 7 hours, as my suitcase was full of chocolate I had bought and I didn't have room for the
boots. Very comfortable! My foot is wide at the toes and narrow at the heels.
