Great Boot -
I did not like spending this much money on any footwear, but this is a luxury and necessity item I assure you. I had a similar, almost exact exterior quality boot 20 years old now from a major
outdoor retailer who stopped making this high quality type footwear about 10 years ago. This boot is mostly for snow and the occasional hunting wet weather, I could not easily tell if the
boots leather is waterproof and doubt it for immersion, but rain and such is fine. I primarily use it for snowmobiling and
outdoor activities. I ordered this boot to size on the foot chart. When I got the product I was a little concerned about tightness, but the card on the boot said if the liner fits good out of the boot, it will form to your foot, I was apprehensive, but they were correct. I wouldnt run a race in this boot as it is 1" longer than the normal boot of its size to accommodate the slipper like liner. The only thing I dont like about the boot is the crease tension when sitting extended periods in the crouched position on the snowmobile, but not an issue. This boot is as good as my old boot, the sole is firm at the bottom, but above that it is very rubbery gel like… not an issue just different. Inside is a waffle bed and a reflective liner that add like 1/4" in interior height, these as just free floating and I actually removed them on a warmer day. Above the rubber part of the boot the leather, tie system, look, and fit are quality. The thin inner liner is like a black material, not sure its purpose. The only reason I replaced my old
boots is because of age and the thin inner liner adhered to the leather was becoming unattached in places. This boot relies entirely on the entire foot liner and the two inserts for the
boots warmth so this should not be an issue years down the road with this boot. This manufacturer has other high quality
boots in the same extreme range for a little cheaper with more diverse features and I may have purchased them as well, but they were out of my size here by the time I went to purchase this year. I am convinced this is good footwear and can’t see where I would be wrong. If it ages well, I will be very happy. Oh and warmth is not an issue, I have put this boot on cold over a cold foot with a thin cotton sock and in 20 degree weather snowmobiling and I was toasty within 1 hr.
